The only component I haven't been able to test thoroughly is the online play. Can't find any rooms with a connection over 2 bars. Can anyone with an early copy living in the US add Tranquil-Lo for some sparring?
 
the past few games ive jumped in US lobbies (im US East coast) and have had good matches with lobbies that had 7-9 people in them. Im curious if its just heavily dependant on the location. (for reference, im playing wired on a 100up/100down FIOS connection)

Nah. Patch isn't up yet. Am hoping it pops up tonight.

I've only played a few ranked matches online, but one positive I can say is that they've been a hell of a lot better than most of the lobby matches I've been in.

I'm a prime member, and I would normally choose the free two-day shipping for pre-orders, and it would arrive at my doorstep on release day, but this time, I found out that it would be coming Thursday.

Changing it to one day shipping seemed to have fixed the issue, and it's now en route for Tuesday afternoon/evening.

Might want to contact customer support and tell them that- good chance you'll get a refund on the shipping.

Can we talk about team composition in this game? What makes a strong/solid team, different things to think about regarding teams?

Right now I'm really interested in playing Vice, Geese, and Ramon. I feel like I may swap characters in the middle spot out occasionally. Zarina and the other ladies looks great too.
 
I wonder what is deciding the games to be so slow or normal. In the busy full lobby ive had slow motion matches and ive had pratically flawless ones. With tranquilo specifically it was laggy regardless of having a 12 person lobby or just 2. I wonder if its port dependant or something I just don't know about yet.

Its funny cause i'm currently trying to find a 3rd person for my team. So far Its Leona/Iori and my goto back in 13 was Ralf as a battery type character though i was never great with him. I'll have to really dive into some characters to round out my team. Its a shame cause im pretty basic at this game fustratingly.

For me, a solid team should be able to do a bit of anything.

We all know about the Anchor and Battery Positions. Yet what fills up the middle of your team is kind of up to playstyle.

I love having a grappler of GUARDPOINTSOFMAXIMA in my mid position. Mature would be an excellent Chip damage-compounding character, who can use meter to kill, or go meterless and just use her high normal damage.

It's been said that Alice's combos don't seem to get much from meter, but I think her normal Rekka strings do very solid damage. For me, this means she could either be a battery of a mid. I wouldn't put her at the end, since the meter gained wouldn't benefit her much.

I think it's great to have characters that play in totally unique ways in your team. Chin is a tricky character with lots of grounded cross-ups / overhead potential. Yet Leona is a very mobile, air-ok style fighter that plays at a totally different range. Geese can pelt with fireballs all day from some players, other can depend on counters, and others can just get in close and try mix-ups infinitely. Having character or playstyles that condition a person to look from a certain playstyle from you, and then being able to flip the channel to something entirely different, is one of the best things about KOF's team based gameplay, personally.

Just my thoughts! :)

El Rosa makes any character seem a little OP lol

El Rosa (the guy who showed everyone his potential at Evo and Summer Jam X) is one of the best KoF players around. Like you said, anyone can make a character look a "little" OP if they know what their strengths and weaknesses are

LOL I loved that everyone knew what I was talking about, I'm fairly new to the KOF series but I liked this tournament a lot and pre-ordered the game.

Patch 1.01 just installed. Very small and the notes just mention legacy controller support and a minor fix. Nothing about online and nothing has changed.

I'm in pain right now, had to send my PS4 in for repair and my Collectors Edition comes in tomorrow. Hopefully I get it within the next 10 days but I'm not holding my breath.

Yea bummer. Its weird too cause ive had near spotless matches and ive had slugfests with u and Tranquilo. I gotta figure out whats the differentiator. For reference, has any fighter had good netcode for you?

I usually don't have problems with most games. As of late I've been playing SFV all the time and GGXrd on occasion.

I just tried restarting my router.

Am hosting now and am playing someone...it's flawless. Hmm...

Crappy with the next guy, but still better.

The support they put forth on this games netcode will basically be promotion for their next game(s) too, so it's in their best interest to work as hard at it as they can. Who'se going to take SamSho or a Garou 2 as seriously if they learn nothing from the release of this game's internet suite?

Yea, just wish there's a way to send data over so they know where to target for future patches. It is it just a thing with frame delay netcode or would the issue exist with frame skip based netcode (where instead of slow motion it just skips around like crazy) Still, I've been fortunate to have really good matches too. Guess I'll just have to take a stab at it again
