In other news, my brother found out about my cross dressing about a week ago, and he hasn't spoken to me since. My dad was pretty understanding on the matter, but I'm just bummed because I thought I was already out to my brother and that he was okay with it.

I wanted to post an update to this story. For a short while, it seemed like things were getting better. I started talking to my brother again, we all spent Father's Day together and had a good time, but then recently a bunch of other drama struck up out of nowhere. Like everyone in my family just decided to stop faking their support, and start making fun of crossdressers and transgender people at the dinner table.

So I've officially moved out and am living with my girlfriend now. I don't even mind that I have to pay rent now because it's good to not feel threatened every time my bedroom door is open.

On one hand, I am very sorry the family you had no hand in being born to are not more supportive of you but on the other, congratulations are in order for respecting yourself enough to decide where you go from here. I'm sure I speak on behalf of others when I say I wish you the best. Keep us in loop.

Thanks! It's too early to tell how things will go long term, but I'm keeping a positive outlook right now.

She wasn't the most amazing RPDR contestant, but man...I'm so in love with the Miss Fame.

She's absolutely beautiful, and the artistry that is produced by her makeup skills is wonderful to witness, she really knows what she's doing.
This video of her turning her friend into a gorgeous drag queen is just amazing!

If I had the money and connections I'd totally hire her as a makeup sensei.
:p

Man, I'm jealous of her figure. Is that how she looks or are there mad body shapers involved?

I'm jealous of her everything! haha

I think Fame uses just a bit of padding here and there with a waist cincher thrown into the mix, but I imagine her padding is minimal enough that she'd actually feel someone touching her; I think she goes for a look which is also heavily reliant on her own natural body shape, which is quite svelte like those androgynous feminine male models.

Interestingly enough, I've noticed a lot of young queens around her age don't pad at all though.

Well, it would be ideal to make things work without too much padding or constriction. I'd love if my body just looked awesome as-is, ha ha. I need to learn more about what clothes work well with which body shapes.

Yeah.
I personally think padding is pretty awesome, and I've seen both queens and CDs do amazing things with it but there is something really, really nice about just wearing dresses n stuff over your own body.
Interestingly enough, there are some queens and crossdressing men/boys I know of who actually do cardio based exercises to feminize their forms and it seems to work well enough.
Honestly though, I think just finding clothing styles that suit your bodyshape or clothing somewhere in your size range is just as good of an option as molding your bod into some idealized form.
Humans are pretty androgynous.
Sexual dimorphism is obviously a thing but it's rather low in humans all things considered, there are tons of cis women who have bodies and features that would be considered masculine.
It's not really all that necessary to conform to limited specific ideas of feminine beauty.

I love Miss Fame as well, but I'm completely infatuated with Violet Chachki

She's drag perfection to me, if there is someone who I want to be, it is her <33

One of my favorite online queer-focused reviewers, Infamous Sphere, just created a video centered around a ridiculously 80s 1980s film about a crossdressing straight guy (as in a gender variant heterosexual cisgender man who fully embraces his femininity without some contrived narrative device forcing him into a dress for a laugh) who's world is changed once he steps outside of that tiny restrictive dull box I like to call masculinity by coming out as a dresser.
Check it out if you're interested, I thought it was pretty good:

Gender Hipster Reviews: Just Like A Woman

I especially love the part at 8:29 where Infamous Sphere (or the "Gender Hipster" in this scenario) talks about how oddly underrepresented and misrepresented (From straight to gay and cis to trans they all seem to ignorantly assume that crossdressing is just a "weird" "meaningless" kink for a lot of straight cis men rather than a legitimate form of gender expression. Our media is an obvious influence on this front) straight boys who crossdress are.
Gender Hipster even talks about how they relate to other gender variant people in the LGBT spectrum, such as trans folk for example. They basically talk about how being invisible is a bit easier for dressers considering that they solely deal with the realm of gender expression rather than gender identity and don’t really have to deal with fighting for medical rights or fending off awful bigoted bathroom bills
However despite all of that she goes on to point out that being privileged in some areas doesn't really erase the fact that you're underprivileged in others, and it's important for both LGBT people and our allies to recognize this.
As shown in the video, straight cis male crossdressers face violence, marginalization, stigmatization, and ostracization for being who they are.

Halloween is coming up, so I thought I might take this opportunity to explore some elements of myself I've generally kept private.

This is probably what i'm thinking of wearing:

I've always liked lolita fashion because it veers more into "cute" than "hot", which is what i've always liked about crossdressing.

It's a big step for me, and i've thought about what my reasons for wanting to do it are. A lot of people feel derision towards those who cross-dress for fetishistic reasons, and I certainly do enjoy it for some of those reasons, but I also think a large part of it is because I think it expresses a side of me I don't get (or in some ways are not allowed) to express. I really like cute things! A lot! I squeeze my face right against them and everything.

So i'm probably going to do it, but what i've posted is about where i'm at, and I know I should probably try to explore some makeup, so i'll probably talk to some makeup artists about how I can accomplish what I want. Generally I feel secure about being a guy in a dress (because i'm a crossdresser!) so I don't want to present as female, but i'd like to feel like i've put some effort into cleaning up my appearance (clear skin, no stubble, maybe clear up the bags under my eyes?).

From what I understand that should just mean I need something called foundation right?

All in all I know I should just relax, not take myself too seriously, and enjoy life, but I thought I might share this here, and maybe get some tips or something. I've always kept this thread in the back of my mind and have been looking forward to posting here! You guys are awesome!

The dress is cute. As for make-up tips, you should post a close up of your face so we can give more specific advice.

Thanks for the reply!

Yeah the quality is pretty shitty on that one, this is me as I am currently, 5 o'clock shadow and all:

Hmm, as far as cleaning up your appearance, I think a light application of foundation will be good. A little bit of blush around the cheeks will brighten up your face as well. A bit of lip gloss will also look good as well. And of course a close shave is a given. Tbh, I'm not an expert at this, but I've noticed that little touches like these do alot for my cleaning up my looks.

With foundation - get the shade right. That'll make or break the whole face of makeup. You don't have to spend loads on it, actually some cheaper ones still are quite nice, but check the shade. Try in store. Hell, if it's one of the ones with people on counters, get them to help figure it out.

If you can get a bit of concealer in the same shade, that can also help on top of a close shave.

Otherwise, a bit of makeup round the eyes will make a big difference. Bit of liner will do, either go with pencil, or the ones which look like felt pens for ease.

I'll definitely have to talk to someone at the counter about the correct shades because I won't have a clue.

I'm not too sure about lip gloss, i'll have to give it a try and see how I feel about it. I was thinking about a bit of eye liner. Though honestly I was just kinda hoping to stick with some light foundation and concealer, nothing too fancy. I have to wonder if once I have that on it wont look right without some lip gloss and blush and all that though.

It's all pretty intimidating! I'll have to try it all though or I won't know

I'll try to post back once I've hit the shops, i'm out of city so it's harder to get what I need at the moment

Ugh
I wish I had that body swapping rug from Gravity Falls so I can be Violet Chachki (a drag queen, for those who don't know) for a week or so...
I mean, just look at her!!
b195d49c9fca089036fe2e9f5819d9a8.jpg

She's just flawless.
T.T

Edit:
Also, If I couldn't swap with Violet I'd probably go with Farrah Maon (drag queen)

I've been obsessed with this fish for a few months now. (Wouldn't mind seeing her on drag race in the future.)

This last posts ......

WxIzVgH.gif

OH MY

Hahaha, hell yeah.

That was me the first time I discovered Farrah's instagram.

I wonder how many facial surgeries these profissional drags have ...

Some boys are just really, really pretty; people like Violet and Farrah are just blessed with great genes.
Afaik, cis queens don't typically go under the knife; it's like, if you're fishy/passable you take advantage of that and if you look like a boy in makeup you do everything you can to own it (I think queens like Willam and Miss Fame are great examples of the latter, they look like boys but they're often very pretty and feminine).
Though it wouldn't surprise me if a few queens have undergone surgery to look a bit more feminine.
:p

I had a makeover done before the halloween party. Couldn't resist taking a selfie while I was in town.

Looking great as ever! Where was it done?

Obviously if you're having a makeover you're dressed female around town - is that something you're more comfortable with or do often? I'm guessing you'd have got over a few concerns to do.

I went to Kiko Milano! It was a special promotion period, so they did the makeover for free! 😍 I just paid for lashes and spare lipstick.

As for dressing in town, I'm always pretty nervous, because I don't pass at all. I'm 6'3 barefoot, so 6'6 in heels. I'm also quite overweight right now, which doesn't help me. Shortly after taking this photo, a few teenage boys walked past and said 'that's a man... TRANSVESTITE!!' >_<; I ignored this, but it didn't make me feel great. Generally I prefer places like soho where such things are less remarkable. Most people don't care too much, or are polite enough to keep their mouths shut.

It's worth risking the crowds hwever because selfies are best taken with plenty of daylight.

Well, you've got the right attitude. And not bad to get a free makeover like that! I'm more DIY with it, I'd say it's at a stage of "not bad", though at the fancy dress party I mentioned a few weeks back I got plenty of compliments and "you're wearing more makeup than me!". A good costume needs good makeup, and if I have to learn then so be it. :p

If you don't mind me asking, you mentioned your GF before - how's she with you being more open, going out with it?

Thanks! I need to practice doing my own makeup though. I feel awkward dressing up at home even though my gf is pretty cool with it.

Yeah, she's pretty great about that, although conscious that it clearly stresses me out a bit. The other day she offered to send some ASOS items back and didn't blink an eyelid that they were dresses.

I just wish I were more comfortable dressing at home without doing the full works with padding and fancy makeup.

My latest and newest drag obsession:

The "deendjers"

You can find their instagram HERE, it's a treasure trove of beauty and glamorous gender-nonconformity!

I mean goddamn these queens are pretty! I just love the whole show girl meets anime magical girl meets 1600s noblewoman powered wig look they've got going on. It's fabulous.
Also, I think it's really easy to tell that they're both makeup artist due to how on point their aesthetics are.

So I finally found a pair of lady shoes that fit my stupid big feet and look great with tights. They're these black slouchy boots that are sooo comfortable and cute I can't stand it. I've basically worn them around my apartment nonstop since I got them.

So now I've been thinking about what top to buy to go with my little wardrobe and I have very little idea what to get, and what pitfalls to avoid. I want something comfy and casual more than glam. Do any of you have tips?

Brought this:

cute little bodycon number (Aaah, I freakin' love the front!) a few weeks ago and it finally came in the snail mail, now my mint green pointed toe platform pumps won't be so lonely; I figured a splash of color would add a lot to the dress so I actually ordered the two items together. lol
Ugh, if I could only find a white or light green wig that looked like this:

I'd have my perfect ensemble. T.T

That dress is killer! wow!
out of interest, um... what do you plan to do for the front? You really need a certain type of figure for this. Will you fill it out?

Well, you don't necessarily need boobs for it to look good. lol
Like, I've seen feminine svelte waif-ish boys and amab (assigned male at birth) gender queer folks who look amazing in cleavage accentuating dresses like this even though they clearly have no breast to show off.
But if I really wanted to accentuate the front for a traditionally lady-like figure, I'd probably use a breast plate (Example:slightly NSFW. There are products that look better than that btw) for cleavage n' stuff. Or, I'd even tape my chest together to make nice looking cleavage; I've got enough fluff for it. haha

What do you gals use to mask beard stub? It looks like white clown may be my onky resort but then the problem i think is having too many layers and cake facing it as a result (white clown, concealer and makeup)

edit: goddamn this thread is dead.

Believe it or not but, AFAIK red or orange foundation (or even a well-blended red lipstick) can neutralize any pesky beard/stubble.
It's something that I picked up on from drag queens; specifically Miss Fame, who you can see just a few posts up.
She's gorgeous and a makeup artist so it's probably much easier for her to effectively use this technique.

Had a good day out in Brighton, and discovered that selfie apps can capture video too.

Yaass, feel the fantasy mama; you look adorable.

Edit:
Makeup with stubble can look amazing though; gender conformity be damned.
(He's so pretty; if you like beauty and fashion go follow his instagram. His looks are gag worthy, he's a very girly makeup artist, and he crossdresses/does drag.)

Bumped for these cuties (plus, drag con is happening right now. So why not?), the deendjers:

76ebdee97020e1f6996139d7b03f18bc.jpg

I ADORE they're style, they look so pretty; almost like, lost Hollywood starlets that happen to moonlight as magical girls!

Aaah, this queen is drop dead GOR-GEOUS!
Had to bump this zombie OT for her!

Her name is Tinus de Schunard ( I think):

I think her boobs look so good, they add such a nice layer of "fishiness" to her aesthetic; I actually thought she was a cis woman/faux-queen when I saw her with Alaska Thunderfuck. haha

I've been running into a lot of very beautiful foreign queens on Instagram lately; I wish I could actually understand what they're saying in their posts though.
:p

Funny this thread comes back, right as I'm dating a drag king right now. I've never been that involved with the drag scene, but I've always been fascinated by it. My SO wants to form up a drag group and has invited me to join, but I'm afraid I'm too nervous for it. XD

Welcome to the thread.
No need to actually participate in actual gender-nonconformity to post here my friend. ;)

Edit:
I put this new pic up in the OP, but I think it needs to be on this page becuase Alaska looks SO GOOD!
