Can anyone put into perspective the major difference for VR and graphics with the jump to 4/5TFLOPS? I understand that people are referring to inevitable bottlenecking due to the CPU being shitty, but will the graphical fidelity be a good jump, or a minute amount? I apologize, I'm still learning this stuff.

Rumor regarding a minimum 1TB HDD being bundled in raises the belief that it won't meet $399, but will cost more.

I'm assuming it will be stronger than 4.2TF and think that is a safe assumption based what I have read by a few people including by John Harker in particular. Don't know if it will be a major leap, but there will be some improvement.

What? Oh I don't actually care. Saying that it's "really shitty" counts as an opinion, regardless of completely lacking any sort of class. Don't worry, I never planned on actually wasting any time to PM you anytime I slap something together in Photoshop for GAF.
Spent like 45 minutes modeling something, only for the program to crash and no auto-save copy, meaning I'd have to rebuild at least 30 minutes of it (from last manual save).
So instead, here is my lazy Photoshop mockup based on a simpler idea:
(power / eject would be similar to placement on Slim)
I was just expecting a fatter version of the slim PS4 for the Neo but that blue logo in the center took me by surprise, I really hope the official model has that logo in it. I love it!

Sadly this is just a Photoshop depiction.
I was modeling the Slim (with intent of making it about 3cm thicker) using simple extrusions and primitives in Element 3D when After Effects decided to crashed. Maybe I'll do that later in Cinema 4D, as it'll result in very easy material and color swapping (brushed metal, matte white, glossy black, etc.)
Good thing there's a cheaper option for the mass market.
Yes, I just remembered my GTX 1060 has 4.4Tfs already and it's a budget card.....but I have it paired with a much better CPU then what's rumored. It has to be much better then the leaks to ask for a $449 price point

In terms of raw power, the additional .8 TFlops is nearly half of the current PS4's power. So it would be a pretty sizeable bump, likely making 4K resolutions (through checkerboarding, of course) more consistent, in addition to the already generous graphical improvements we're already expecting.
Yeah Cinema 4D would be the better route to go. Video Copilot plugins can be a bit temperamental especially with the latest version of after effects.
If only there was a way to buy a cheaper PS4...!
399$ should be considered the absolute minimum we could expect imho, it's a product for hardcore players, they don't have to price this for mass appeal right away.

I would love that.
I feel like Sony will launch with 449/499 models to take advantage of early adopters and maximize profit. Make it look sexier, bigger hard drive, 4K capabilities and increased power and I feel like they can get away with that price calling it the premium or high end model for enthusiasts!!! Lower the price around Scorpio release and introduce a 500 Gb model and go even lower that Scorpio price point. The only increase in specs I can see is maybe the cpu/gpu is overclocked a bit and an increase in ram size

Yeah of course, though I was only try to commit an hour to making it, so nothing too precise or making me late for my Sunday evening plans. If no one else has made it by later this week, I may still create the simple PS4 Slim/Neo variant.

Sure but if the option of a different cpu is not available for this holiday then it is not happening. Now that we know the slim is not 4K capable I can almost guarantee you that neo is launching this holiday. The whole next year first quarter thing never made any sense to me anyways because at that point you might as well delay it a further 6 months and release a console that is close to or better than Scorpio specs. If a better cpu was available for this holiday then yes I can definitely see Sony going for it since ms has revealed its Scorpio plans and they might as well increase the power to be as close to it as possible so as to not be overshadowed too much.
To be honest I don't think Osiris comments are that strong to begin with. Not saying he doesn't know stuff because he was verified but he could have been given fluff material alongside some real information as well and he is not someone that works at Sony

I am more than ok with that. I would prefer the games to look a lot better than the normal PS4 games as well, but 1080p/60fps would be wonderful. I want some damn good AA with that, too.

I would be forced down the PC route if it's anything else. Not gonna spend hundreds on a TV on top of the console's price.

I'm not one of those "give me 60fps or death" gamers. I'd be perfectly happy playing most games at LOCKED 30fps with the visuals cranked way up. Fighting, sports and and other competitive games and I prefer to be 60fps though.
We are not going to get every game at 60fps.

AMD have other CPU option available beside Zen or Jaguar.
They can use Excavator, or steamroller that used on last year APU. Both better than Jaguar core.
You still benefit at 1080p of the output is 4K due to downscaling. But I highly doubt anything from the system is going to be native 4k other than Netflix, vudu and movies

just the other day i was playing Witcher III on PS4 and the game is already a remarkable looking game but with some amount of choppyness to it's frame rate during combat in certain locations. CDProjektRed did address this to a great deal through their patches, but you can still encounter slow downs. And the game could also do with an extra notch of sharpness. Imagine if we get to experience 1080p/60fps of Witcher III on PS4 Neo? Or other games that could greatly benefit of higher frame rate!
we're gonna get 4K-ish games with better IQ at the same framerate as non-Neo mode
I will be shocked if 30fps standard and 60fps Neo mode is a common thing

There might have been a "push to 2017" contingency plan which had a tentative CPU upgrade as part of it at some point.
The initial leak that Osiris gave us were things he had directly seen and been told, but the later tidbits had a few more degrees of separation, so who knows how old or garbled they might have been.
