My 3 freezers are stuffed with meats that have been inside for many years. How I eat?

How are you supposed to use the deep freezer? How do you get the stuff that is all the way in the bottom.

The deep freezer is more like a cube than a rectangle.

If you can't reach the bottom, climb in :)

Or take a moment to read the advice people here are giving you. It does not appear you need a deep freezer and have ample space in your other 2 freezers to meet your needs. Save some money on electricity and get rid of the deep freezer

I think the problem really nobody has touched on is you have 3 freezers full of meat you never ate in 5 years yet you just bought 10 pounds of chicken you want to freeze.

Bruh.

I assume this guy inherited this meat somehow since he seems to know nothing about freezers, or he killed the home owners and when looking for a place to stash the bodies found the meat/freezers?

I got a bunch of frozen meats in my 3 stuffed freezers (2 top freezer and a large dedicated freezer). I think some of them have been in there forever. I don't know how to eat them (unthaw, cook), so how do I eat them? What should I throw away?

How and how long do I unthaw them? There are some beef, pork and seafood. Some probably has freezer burn.

Also, what would go well with those meats? I got some Salsa, Guacamole, Pesto.

I also got some Black Pepper, Kosher Salt, Granulated Garlic, dried onions.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a food vacuum sealer? I could use one of those.

Dude, your shit sounds like what Hmong people do - hunt/fish and store that shit for a while and then eat them when they have nothing else to eat :p 1-2 years should be safe to eat imo.

But we don't wait 5 years for that shit. Your meats might be bad and I wouldn't recommmend you eating them now. Especially since you said you have power outages -_-

It's all gonna taste bad because of freezer burn unless it's wrapped super tightly in a bunch of layers. It's also gonna be dried out so if you do eat it cook it in a moist environment.

The human flesh can probably still be salvaged though, that stuff is pricey.

Lesson learned: Don't buy what you think you'll eat, buy what you actually eat.

5 years and you're thinking about thawing and cooking it? Are you crazy? Uncooked meat lasts 12 months TOPS in the freezer.
No. As long as it stays frozen the entire time it's edible indefinitely. If it gets freezer burn, more likely if the freezer is used (opened) often it won't taste great and will be better as an ingredient in something like chili or a stew.

Thaw, then use as bait in crawfish traps. Freeze caught crawfish.

Here's the important bit: don't wait five years to eat said crawfish.

Honestly you may want to get yourself a dehydrator and make some jerky, or a lot of jerky. It will take a lot of that old meat and make it better.

Otherwise get a crock pot, or dutch over, and a lot of sauce / liquid.

Most meat degrades around 6+ months in a freezer, especially if not packaged right.

Granted it is still edible after a couple of years, but it just isn't as good. You deep freeze larger cuts and less delicate stuff, and even then you vacuum seal it and package it properly to preserve it.

So just guessing none of this had been done I think it best to go the Crock pot or Smoker route. Or even jerky.

Fucking 5 years?! Lorde wasn't mainstream five years ago! Breaking Bad was still airing five years ago! It was Obama's first term five years ago! Throw them away!

It's probably still good if it never thawed for too long then refroze. You could also feed it to dogs or something.

My freezer is a joke. Joke is on me since I have to eat some of them to make room for the food that I want to eat.

Take a picture of the current state of your deep freeze and post it. The joke is on us because you refuse to take the 'if you eat that crap you will die' advice.

5 years is a really long time - though by all accounts it might very well be okay, just off in terms of texture. And even if it's vacuum sealed I'd be surprised if it's not freezer burned in any way.

I have a whole turkey at the bottom of my deep freezer that's been there coming up on two years, I really need to eat it.

I don't have anything vacuumed sealed, though I should get a machine that does that. What should I look for in a vacuum sealer and what bags should I get?

I just have a cheap Foodsaver. When I bought it I read to avoid the automatic ones as they use up the rolls faster, and there's less to go wrong. I just use the gamesaver rolls they make, as for whatever reason the different branding comes with a different price (they're the same thing). I think there are many decent off-brand bag rolls, too, but I don't know as much about those as they're almost as expensive as the Foodsaver bags here in Canada.

There are also chamber sealers, which are kind of overkill unless you're vacuum sealing everything. They're expensive as all hell.

At least I hope so. There's no way a human adult can be this clueless.

Stop reading comics/watching MCU movies and watch some damn food Network. Stop buying more meat than you'll need Ina few months.

I want to know how you actually kept meat for so long, heck I don't think I've ever kept meat for longer than a month.
