reminds me of the guy who brought his ps3 to an arbys to play demon souls

Amazing. I hope he made it through Latria.

City is safer these days and the MTA is far better connected in contacting transit police than other cities. Besides there are just too many people to be witnesses and his stuff requires 3 people to take all of his gear. I guess you could snatch an Xbox by itself.
Maybe in Manhattan there are transit police in every station, but if he's riding in the other boroughs then he's eligible to be jacked at any time unfortunately. NYC is just a cesspool.
And the police are so incompetent that they'd probably never catch the culprit anyway.

Picture makes me a bit sad, really curious what his story is. I guess that's just gonna be a matter of time.
He's poor, like almost 14% of US general population. So no proper health care, education and a lot of junk food. Maybe he is also homeless like the ~2 million street children in the USA. I bet his story is not that original.

How fucking cheap is junk food in the states? In Australia a McDonald's meal costs closer to twenty bucks than ten. If I was poor in Australia, I'd buy a can of mixed beans and be done with it for the day.

For $5 you can get over well 1000 calories worth of food here , if you stick to the cheaper options .

Australia is lucky to have good produce, its more due to the lack of education on healthy eating/cooking, plus yeah America has such a wide range of fast food options of varying prices. Australia is boned the amount of times I have wanted food past 9pm...we have shit options.

My take away from this is that it looks like NYC subway is safer than DC/MD subway... How is that possible?

Does that include a burger, fries and a drink? You can't get that here for $5.

Yup...cheaper actually if you spread it out like that. Right now there's a kinda fast food war going on and they keep slashing prices and giving you more food. Right now at Wendy's you can get a bacon cheeseburger , fries , chicken nuggets and a drink for $4. I think burger king has the same thing but they even throw in a cookie!

Faaaaaark! Now I'm hungry.

what is this?

It's the Xbook One S, a portable mod done by a famous console modder who isn't Ben Heck.

I was J/K though. For that quoted price (USD $1500), and the modder taking in (very limited) orders depending on his schedule (this is a DIY project and the modder has all the info in a video on how to, so even if you DIY it will end up somewhere around that mark exceeding $1000 and his building fee of $200+ is completely worth considering the time/effort he's put into it and which he's shared with the community), you're better off buying a brand new pascal based notebook from ASUS or ACER which hover around the same price bracket, and which are WAY faster than this, especially now that you literally get an Xbox One + a Gaming PC on every Windows 10 machine.

I live at the end of a 'subway' line and more often than not I'll see people get off the train at the last stop and walk across the platform to get on a train headed back in the opposite direction. Living on a train is pretty common I think

Load of rubbish. I was recently in Australia and for $10.99 you get a big Mac, chicken nuggets, fries, drink and apple pie.

You can get single items for close to $2

There is a $6 meal you can get at hungry jacks that has 4 or 5 items as well.

Guys. The subway is in NYC is pretty safe and no one, no one wants to steal a 360, which can be had for 20 bucks at a thrift shop.

People use MacBook Pros, iPhones, and iPads on the subway on a daily basis and those go for way more.

NYC has been safe for many years.

You might have caught a special price, but a Whopper meal (burger, fries and drink) or Big Mac meal is around 15 bucks.

This is hilarious. Wonder if the dude does it for the love of the game or if he's just trolling everyone to see how long he can do this for.

Well, if you have zero access to the internet, that is an offline device, I mean, seriously, when I read the blogs, and thought about who's really the most impacted, there was a person who said 'hey, I'm on a NY subway,' and I don't even know what it means to be on a NY subway but I've gotta imagine it's not easy to get an internet connection. Hey, I can empathize, if I was on a NY subway, I'd be disappointed.

How far can you go on the NCY subway? Is there a journey long enough to warrant mobilising your home console and playing it on the train?

In extreme cases like the D (orange line) or the 4 (green line), you're going from pretty far up north in the Bronx, to the southernmost point in Brooklyn, which can easily be an hour and a half to two hours.

I don't know about these days, but before, at the last stop the train operator would sometimes come around and tell people that they had to leave the train, essentially preventing people like the homeless from hanging out in the same train all day.

I agree with this.

Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens are generally pretty safe. Even parts of the South Bronx (where I'm from) were very safe at the peak of the Guliani era in the early 2000s. Although I went to visit a friend there recently and it's turning to crap again...

I have experience with both (NYC being my hometown, and now a DC resident) and yes, as funny as it may sound, I always found the NY system to be not only safer, but more reliable, running longer, and just having a much better system overall.

14%? Has to be way higher.
