Yeah, that's exactly what I mean. It's gonna be a long road to walk, friends.

hope i'm wrong tho

No. Strauss acknowledged that the announcement of GTA V was messed up and that they want much shorter times between announcement/reveal and release going forward.

Spring 2017.

i think they originally planned to have horses in GTA V. there was some info on missions that were cut that involved riding a horse.

"They were intended to be able to be ridden by the player, similarly to the horses from Rockstar Games' Red Dead Redemption. Many leftover files exist in the GTA V game files, although no actual models exist. This includes police scanner audio. A horse was meant to appear in the cut heist The Sharmoota Job, where it belonged to Martin Madrazo and had to be stolen by Michael and Trevor."

Very interesting. Causing mayhem with a RPG on a horse could have been fun...

Oh God just had a thought. What if it's a new Red Dead with an optional VR mode/mission. Shooting outlaws in VR would be amazeballs.

You know its happening, we know its happening. But up until now we've been forced to rely on leaks and veiled hints from the developer.

Yesterday, however, Rockstar signalled its readiness to discuss its much-loved Western once more via this teasing Twitter post

There's... not much to go on. Okay, there's nothing to go on. But let's take at what we know so far.

Grand Theft Auto 5 came out more than three years ago, and while the game's multiplayer mode has been kept constantly updated (and has made a mountain of cash), Rockstar has never produced any single-player expansion.

The past couple of years have seen Rockstar quiet even by Rockstar standards on what the bulk of its team is up to, but it has dropped the occasional hint it is indeed now working on a Red Dead Redemption follow-up.

It's worth noting this period also saw the departure of Rockstar North boss and long-time company stalwart Leslie Benzies. His role in the company often fell in the shadow of its Houser brother founders, but emails that emerged in the wake of Benzies' subsequent $150m lawsuit against Rockstar showed he was a key creative brain on both the first Red Dead and the GTA series - and one who may be difficult to replace.

But work has undeniably been progressing. The largest Red Dead Redemption 2 leak saw the game's map supposedly spilled online. It suggested a couple of things: the next Red Dead will be set chronologically before Redemption (which makes sense, as RDR portrayed the dying days of the Wild West) and that there would be a small amount of overlap with the Redemption map.

Of course, slight note of caution. Rockstar still hasn't promised anything. This could be a teaser for a new PS4 remaster of Redemption. It may be a new Rockstar Table Tennis. But GTA5 was revealed on 25th October 2011 - five years ago next week.

fun fact: john marston is actually blind in his left eye which would explain why his special power is called dead eye.

just remembered that when you mentioned VR.

Its still such a shame Rockstar never devloped a singleplayer DLC...ballad of gay tony was my fav story of the GTA series

i know :( but i guess money talks. they probably have made more from Online than they would ever have from single player dlc. oh well. i'm worried they are going to take Red Dead the same way. undead nightmare was a fantastic dlc.

I'll honestly be salty if it's a Table tennis game or a fucking remaster.

i really can't see it being anything else other than a completely new game. nobody really cares about table tennis and wasn't that just purely to show off RAGE? as for a remaster... they didn't do that for GTA V. i don't see them stirring up all this hype just for a remaster. rockstar do some of the best marketing out there for games.

I'm actually kinda in a state of denial where this drops out of nowhere. I mean Bestheda did the same Fallout 4 last year but this! Oh jeez it's a just lot more exciting when thinking of this.

It's coming and it's coming early to mid next year. Rockstar like their Spring release dates do they not? You heard it here first.

I know nothing, Jon Snow

Do you think they will use the same engine as GTA V or will this be the first game with the new engine since it's their first exclusively current gen game?

Above all else, I hope that once again the music is on point. RDR did a wonderful job with its music, it was the final step in creating the world R* wanted us to play. Even when they played more modern music (reaching Mexico for the first time) it felt great and it was used to perfection.

I thought RDR would start a wave of new western games but we really didn't get any besides the Call of Juarez games. I guess RDR did it so well that anything else would come off as a weak imitation. I'd love an open world supernatural west game; Hard West is the closest we've gotten to that

At least Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is phenomenal

it'll be on an update RAGE. i see no reason why they should use a new engine. there have been no hints towards them doing so.

Red Dead 3 April 2017

Red Dead Redemption Remastered for PS4, XBO & PC Available Now.

Make it happen Rockstar. Blow my socks off.

I think it would be something like this

Red Dead Redemption remaster - Spring 2017

RDR 3 - early 2018 (this includes the typical rockstar delay)

It's gotta come out next year, no way it doesn't as they would have worked on it for 6-7 years. I know Rockstar don't care about time, but that is way too long, even for them. Longer than GTA V development.

I don't think Rockstar will pull the same shit they did with GTAV. We are gonna see a much smaller gap between the game announcement and release this time around, and dare I say it- no delay. They've been quiet for quite a while now, its time.
