Remember reading somewhere (forget from who) that Nintendo were planning more collaborations with other publishers, lending out their IPs, as well as well as funding more projects. If true, we should see the results for all of that with the NX. That as well as combining the library for their handheld/console should be interesting if everything works out.

If the game was well and truly dead and Nintendo offered to fund it, why wouldn't it be an exclusive? This is another Bayo 2 situation where neither the IP owner or another console partner wanted to pony up the cash.

I'm not a conspiracy theory guy, but If this really a Bayonetta style NX exclusive, you wonder if Ubi was itching to get this out there expecting a NX reveal in the fall.

They were one, but a secondary source was also used per the article. From my understanding of the article back in March, Geno tipped them about the story and she then investigated it and was able to get a secondary source that shared information that lined up with the tip they had received.

I want to believe, but she said somewhere in the beginning of the year that they were working on it, and then we found out that it only got greenlight like two weeks ago, with maybe a cgi at the reveal (speculation is they'd have to be really fucking quick with it). So it just seems like some kind of vague rumor/guess that partially panned out and now she's doubling down on it.

That seems to line up to me. A lot of projects aren't going to be greenlit based on name alone, some preliminary work has to be done first.

Well, it would be quite remarkable if Ubisoft decided a resurrect a game they canned twice without a nudge from some external money, but it's not impossible.

At the end of the video it is also mentioned that Nintendo might also be interested in funding additional sequels. Maybe gives more credit for the Bayonetta 3 rumors? Maybe they just want to create some kind of audience for these games on their platform and then continue building it.

The Nintendo audience is clamoring for Zelda and it will undoubtedly be the highest selling launch title.
Releasing a Zelda like game like BG&E would definitely be audience appropriate.

I'll respond to this post because it's shorter but first of all Capcom has flat out denied the possibility of SFV going to other platforms and I really wouldn't hold my breath on the Shenmue front.
It also seems arbitrary to me that two platforms is acceptable whilst one is not. Does that mean if MS and Nintendo both pitched in to fund say... Devil May Cry 5 and it was XBO/NX that would be fine? It's not exclusive after all, it's on two platforms.
