well it worked on me. i bought GTA V on PS3 then they announced it for PS4 so i bought it again. i ended up building a PC so bought it again.
i'll be getting RDR2 on PS4 and again on PC. i'm not proud of it but i ain't waiting for them to release PC version until i play this. i'll be there day 1.

Right, but those were separate platforms, not the same with these new hardware iterations. Plus GTAV came out before the PS4 and XB1 existed, or even publicly mentioned.
Sony (rightly) have a mandate for full day and date support of their new machine. And you can bet Microsoft will too with the Scorpio.

Saying you would like to see them do something new is of course fine. I actually agree with that.
Implying they're not doing the 'right' thing by including characters of a certain gender/race is what I have issue with.

I honestly don't give a shit about whether or not the lead character of a western game is not white or female or whatever
But it would be nice to have a major subplot involving a minority and/or female in the story mode. Particularly Mexicans and Native Americans since we're dealing with the wild west

Your comment is some "stick to sports!" level commentary which is usually little more than "I don't agree with the premise of your argument and I find it threatening to my beliefs in some way." If people want to talk about concerns that a game might not features characters with backgrounds they find interesting, they're well within their rights to do so.
really doubt either version will be 60fpsRockstar are the only devs I give this pass too, and I give it happily.
I will, however, be buying it for Pro or Scorpio pending whichever has the 60fps version and some bells and whistles - then play it in 4K/60fps (my rig hardware will be super good by then no doubt) after the ~1-2 year wait for the PC version

Man I hope they include the wilhelm scream like in the last game. Also, hope the euphoria engine is still prominent. Shooting guys off horses looked so damn good.

Yeah so in that case this isn't Red Dead 3, it's literally just Redemption 2. I guess considering how Red Dead works they couldn't use Red Dead R______ if it actually isn't 3.

Hopefully it is but seeing some responses in this thread.
That is actually surprising (and disappointing).
People shit on R* because GTA has crass humor, but RDR had genuinely interesting and well written female characters, for a videogame.
And it seems like it would've been easy to avoid crossfire by inclusing even one female character (this is assuming there will be multiple characters, ofc).
Given the lack of PC version though, i have to infer that R* simply does not give a fuck about people's opinions, and they have the money to afford it, too.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised at no PC version. RDR didn't make it either. That said, my situation has changed since that games release so that pretty much makes this game a rental or a complete skip by the time it comes out.

I should REALLY play the first one on Xbox 360 already. I've had it for at least 3 or 4 years and played it once for an hour but never touched it again.

But they didn't write the game about Abigail. It was John's story. Same will be for whoever is the main protagonist in Red Dead 2.
Also understand that these games are time period and will reflect the majority of male outlaws to smaller female ration during that time.
We probably will meet some women outlaws possibly a band of them. But these games were written about Marston's and possibly their siblings female/ or male.
If your seriously outraged then dont support the game.
PS4 and XBO were not released at that time.
It's a completely different situation when PS4 Pro definitely and Scorpio possibly is already released when the game is released. The support will be day 1.

Also for some complaints in here with the budgets that go into Rockstars games for better or worse they aim for target demographics to sell gangbusters. No one comes close to the level of detail and effort Rockstar put into their open world games. Understandably as nearly no one else can afford these ridiculous budgets.
I wish it didn't cost as much as it does but sadly it's where we are with video games. I'm a little more surprised at the white balance if it's how it seems. Males though? Not surprised at all. I bet the demographics for GTA and even RDR are heavily skewed towards males.

Now it's "WTF, where's the diversity", "where's the PC version" "where the woman at"
Now, the lack of a PC version I can understand as being disappointing, but the rest? We haven't even seen a trailer or a game clip yet!

i would be seriously surprised if this doesn't get a PC version. they just won't announce it right now. they didn't announce the PC version of GTA V until about 9 months after it came out on PS3/360.

What a horrible post.
I don't think it would be ruined, i'd enjoy the game with any type of race like a normal human being...but if the first thing you do when they announce an anticipated game is to yell at the screen for the characters races, then i guess you have a much bigger problem to resolve.
Anyway, let's wait for the trailer
