Abigail (John's wife) was a member of the gang.

Of course, she was also like a young prostitute, so uh, that might be hard to integrate into the game.

Though it's clear in RDR we're hardly meeting the entire gang (especially since there's 7 people in the image and we only met 5) so there really isn't much story to retcon given we never got the full picture anyway.

No, I would love to see the posts if Rockstar decided to cast her as a lead in the game, still being a prostitute and all...

I dunno, I can't imagine them not doing it. it was kind of a different time when RDR came out and didn't have a PC version. The PC market has expanded hugely and their last game sold very well on the platform.

Because it's unlikely R* make the same mistakes during RDR2's development as they did with RDR, also R* like money.

it's coming to PC, lol. RDR didn't make it to PC for entirely different reasons.
soooo many people are going to double dip on this game, it's unreal. I'm certain that the GTA V re-release on PC did wonders for Rockstar's wallet. People will buy the hell out of this on consoles, then pick it up again months later on PC.

It'll be a huge surprise for me if it comes out on PC
I guess we'll have to wait and see eh?

Nice. Should be pretty boss on PS4 Pro. lol at PC getting snubbed again though, sucks no doubt but you have to laugh after all the years of demands for the last game to release on PC falling on deaf ears.

Oh, and thread is a real begfest as well, thought that wasn't allowed on Neogaf.

I hope RDR 2 isn't as depressing as RDR. One thing that surprised me about that game by the time I completed it was how relentlessly grim it was. Even characters introduced through sub-quests met a horrible end most of the time. It's not like I want rainbows and sunshine at every turn, but I hope Rockstar tones down the bleakness a few notches this time.

Absolutely not. I hope they follow through with that again.

I love adventure westerns too but I just found this tone so good in the game.

So these gonna include Undead Nightmare 2, right?

i would be seriously surprised if this doesn't get a PC version. they just won't announce it right now. they didn't announce the PC version of GTA V until about 9 months after it came out on PS3/360.

RDR never made it to PC. Previous GTAs did. I'm just going by precedent.

Releases just before Scorpio, developed for PS4 and Xbone primarily, PS4 Pro support minimal.

Online barely functional at release, comes out two weeks later though and get's a pass by every reviewer because it's a rockstar game.

2019, 4k ports of the original game for PS4 Pro Xbox Scorpio + PC release.

Online to be held back by current gen consoles in player count and world details, microtransactions galore, horse insurance etc.

Thats not how its gonna work.

3 reason why it's not coming to PC yet:

1. Pirating
2. Need time to work on the best version.
3. Mods

Point 1. is kinda stupid considering it will factor in even if release is 5 years later than on consoles. Also afaik even today there is no factual proof to show that piracy actually results in lost sales. Also point 3., R* hates modding. With every GTA they have gone out their way to make modding harder and even impossible through patching the games.

Delay most likely is just because they want more money and delayed PC port increases likelihood of 2-3 time dippers.

I agree here. For a game with the name "Redemption" in the title (even though I know this was a reference to John), very few of any of the side characters are redeemable. Virtually every prominent side character, besides Bonnie and the gunman guy in Mexico, is a irredeemable, horrible person.

honestly if they had a female in there. it would ruin it for me, it wouldn't be realistic at all, just a very unlikely scenario.

While this is a bit of a dumb reason to not play a GAME, yes your reasoning is indeed why Rockstar will play it safe. For my 3rd post on this matter now maximising sales to young men who think like you is more important to getting 6~10m sales.

Rockstar spend far more than the average game developer making the games they do.

yeah ok...i'm sure rockstar will just pass up on all that money. red dead redemption was what made the series popular so maybe they didn't want to risk releasing it on pc. now it has been 6 years and i bet a lot of PC players will want to play it.

I wouldn't be surprised if you could create your own customisable protagonist in this game, whether male or female, depicted in the main story as a fresh-faced new recruit inducted into Dutch's gang. That way, you could take your unique character online to interact with everyone else's characters whilst rounding up your own posseys and the like.

Huge news for me, awesome.

But yeah, the female character questions aren't unwarranted considering how much they shat the bed in their answer when asked about GTA V.

exactly the kinda female you expect to be in hanging out with cowboy killers from the 1800's, but i wouldn't wanna play as female that looked like a dude.

Annie Oakley, Belle Starr, Big Nose Kate, Calamity Jane, Cattle Kate there is a huge list of famous women outlaws. If you don't want to play one because you don't think they are cute enough the problem is you and video games are the least of the challenges you'll face in life.
