This actually looks like the same device, even the power and volume buttons are in the same place, and there's a strange hole (a mic maybe?) also in the same place on both:
It has the same coax jacks as the wii u dev kit and the same power plug.

The 4CHAN measurements for the handheld are bigger than the wii u gamepad but surprisingly slightly less thicker since the gamepad thickness.
From the top of the analog to the bottom of the top of the ZR button is about 48mm and measuring from top surface of the wiiu pad to the thickest part of the bottom surface is 38mm.
However, that height of 165 mm well lets just say we can fit two 6.2 inch screens at that height. and still have a healthy bezel to put cameras and other buttons top and bottom. length is fine i guess if there are controllers. so unless the screen is almost square and 1280x1280 the measurement seems really off as you will have a 1.8 inch bezel each side. A bit off there if you ask me, basically larger than an ipad 10 inch and three times the thickness.

Bottom section of dev kit is slightly smaller than the wii u's width. and about half the length with thickness also about 1/3 of an inch smaller than wii u going by the port sizes. I thought the screen was bigger but its just the bezel putting me off. looks to be about a 6.2 inch screen same size as wii u. maybe this one is a bit more realistic for a dev kit.
Right on time. I called it months ago. Literally said this thing would have to be debut or revealed at the end of the year. I'm only a week off from my november estimates.

I respectfully disagree... that video was what introduced 95% of Nintendo's potential customers to the Wii U. No casual observer took any notice of what Reggie said during that E3.
Watching it back, I'm almost in disbelief of how bad the messaging was. The only thing that was focused on was the controller, and the games shown looked practically identical to their Wii brethren - you've got New Super Mario Bros, Wii Sports, and other Mii-related things. Nowhere do they indicate these are new games. Apart from Zelda, there wasn't even any noticeable upgrade in visuals, which is what the majority of people associate with a new console generation.
In addition to that, the games shown were terribly disappointing for the diehard Nintendo fans (with the exception of Zelda - which was nothing more than a tech demo). And the technology was about 5 years too late. They needed to focus on what was unique to their platform and differentiated them from everyone else - the quality of their first-party titles and the unique ways the GamePad could be used to interface with them. They tried this a bit with the Wii Sports segment, but generally the applications shown seemed very gimmicky.
Now I can't imagine they'll have the same problem with this upcoming reveal but I do worry that Nintendo continues to focus on an imaginary casual blue ocean audience that has all but dried up at this point in the west.

If I remeber the Wii U was available in some regions but not others. I'm also going to pre-order it as soon as possible. Wonder if Gamestop will have pre-orders tomorrow?

What's wrong with it being three minutes? Just show the system, show a few attributes, and show the name in the last 8 seconds. They could easily do that in two minute even. It's not like they are going to get into specifics, the info about the video content is correct.

People are debating what's gonna have the most coverage. People don't look past a single post I see, even when it's quoting and responding to someone else.
Maybe because it actually revealed what the game they were teasing was. You know, like this reveal is gonna do?
