Interesting how they are choosing a preview trailer for the first official news on it, eh? Was convinced the first news would be an event. But hey, that is going to happen in due time and I'm sure from this point onwards, it's mostly NX with some other products sprinkled here and there.

So you have to have a vastly underpowered console (compared to a home console at the same price point) for a handheld to have a good battery life.
This is exactly why I don't want a hybrid, it's too many limitations simply for the convenience of playing it outside.
I think the worlds of handhelds and home consoles aren't YET (because it will happen eventually with chips shrinking in size and power requirement) ready to be merged without having to impede the device significantly.
My lowest expectation are just Name, design and date when we can see more - but my highest exceptions are pretty much your post exactly.

If it's a good screen, sure. That's a little low resolution for a screen that big but it'd be pretty good. (I assume that's what the leaks are saying)

Nope. At least on my launch basic Wii U, it's one of the best screens you could ask for on a controller. It's an IPS panel with rock-solid viewing angles and a pretty wide colour space for 2012.
If you have to complain about the image quality, it's likely the compression of the video stream from Wii U to GamePad that's to blame, not the actual quality of the display. An uncompressed stream at 60fps and 480p would be sending too much data for Wi-Fi to handle.
My complaints with the GamePad screen boil down to its use of resistive touch technology, which means it's coated by an incredibly reflective film, rather than oleophobic glass (Vita-2000) or an antireflective coating (top screen N3DS/N3DS XL).
The colours on the Gamepad screen always look incredibly washed out to me. If that's a result of the streaming tech rather than the screen itself that's a bit of a shame.

Same here. Been playing Zelda TP:HD I'm shocked at how washed out colors look on the Gamepad.

I expected that meant only Zelda would be shown, and no other games, but maybe I was nust reading into it too much and she literally meant the exact launch lineup wouldn't be told but didn't intend to discount there being other games shown?
Because later she Retweeted from Tom Phillips:
"Expecting final name, portable form factor and new Mario game today - but it's only a sneak peek. Lots more time before March release. #NX"
So are we now expecting more than Zelda and possibly Mario to be shown?

"A big indie team who brought their game to New 3DS but not original 3DS (sorry on vague wording, not hard to work out) have an NX dev kit."
