Sony will be publishing Nioh in both Europe and North America

Kou Shibusawa made an appearance on Sony's conference and now they're publishing this game overseas for them. I wonder if we'll see more Sony/Koei collaborations in the future

At TGS they also said that they had a number of other games in development, including one that people have been waiting to see (obviously DW9), and that they were working with SIE on how they could possibly reveal them at the end of the year. So, PSX is looking like another place where we'll see Koei titles.

Hope springs eternal for people hoping to skate by this generation without having to buy a "proprietary black box."

Either that, or maybe because most of the titles KT published this generation were released on PC, and people expect this one to follow suit?

That jogged my memory. Forgot about that tweet.

I'm both excited and mad at the delay of DW9's announcement

When he said that my mind went straight to Ninja Gaiden 4.

It was bizarre. I only had to see footage of DS at TGS running at about 12FPS and just had to get the Asian version. I don't know how they thought it wouldn't appeal.
Same. Imported it for more than the price of a normal release at a time when I was otherwise only buying stuff on sale.

Oh well, we got Bloodborne (and this, kind of) out of it, so they redeemed themselves in my book.

I think the question is what they could actually collaborate on. It's not like Sony needs to go the extra mile on Musou and Gust's games and DOA has found a comfortable niche without needing extra support from a first party. That leaves Ninja Gaiden as the only real target for a collaboration that we know as being feasible right now, as Fatal Frame still appears to be locked down pretty tightly to Nintendo.

This game is so fucking legit, nice to see the muscle behind it. Players did adjust to Souls, not the other way around, this will have to be the same so let's see how that works out in the end.

SIE is actually publishing everywhere but Japan (SIE publishing in other Asian markets as well)

Maybe this is because of their old contract for the game?

Seems like Sony is going all in at promoting this game. Good. It looks like it deserves success

That whole situation shook the western branches to their cores. Even as much penance they've paid for that mistake, it was still one of the most remarkable misreads in the industry.

Could you blame them, though? Who would've thought that that series would've taken off the way it did? I even hated Demon's Souls when it first came out. But Bloodborne is one of my all-time favorite games, so there's that.

On one hand I'm happy this game will get promo. On the other I would've double dipped and want to play it in real 4k.

That last beta was oh so good. This is up there with my most anticipated games of 2017.

?? Is that some kind of surprise. It's berserk. Saint seya,MHA,hell a freaking Haikyuu musou would've done better

It was expected? Huh, I figured it was popular.

Can someone remind me what happened with Demon Souls?

Sony funded the game, Shuhei Yoshida hated it after playing it, they decided not to publish it outside of Japan.

Namco/Atlus ended up publishing it in other regions and the game become a success.

FromSoft then made the successor Dark Souls with Namco and Sony basically pissed away a great exclusive.

Yoshida later put more time into the game and loved it and really regretted the decision not to support DeS.

During development Sony had no faith in the project as it was in development, Shu Yoshida in particular, who was in charge of third party publishing didn't think it would have a high chance of success, and so Sony didn't offer to publish the game in western territories.

Fast forward to today and Souls is one of the biggest success stories of last gen.

Of course, Shu's story afterward was that in development it didn't look like it was going to come together because apparently it was messy for a while until Miyazaki stepped in, but who really knows for sure.

Great trailer!
Curious whether characters will actually only speak their own language in the full game as well (MC English and Japanese Characters Japanese).

Yeah, they confirmed that. Its supposed to be the same feeling of a fish out of water going into the unknown. He doesn't know Japanese and they don't know english.

Think the last samurai

Video title states rather explicitly: PS4 exclusive.

Who knows how true that is though.

It clearly states "Only on PlayStation" on the game's official page, so I don't know how much more official you can get than that. For reference, a game like Dragon Quest Builders does not make this distinction.

This is actually pretty cool. It would have been strange if the Japanese characters would have spoken English as well so I am happy that they are going for this route.

Cool, I'd like a decent collector's edition, since they have Sony publishing now. Man I can't wait for this game.

Exclusive doesn't mean anything anymore, but I'd be surprised if Sony didn't at least secure a timed exclusivity of a year or so
