I got to the volcano in Battlezone with 2 people earlier. We were on the final phase of the ending and died...lol so close

This game is so strangely difficult.

I empathize. Before the patch - myself and x2 friends got to the final boss (post spinning-sheilds and hit boxes vanquised) and died and lost it all on it's cannon-form TWICE!

Since the patch, I've gone through and completed x2 normal/short campaigns and feel that once everybody maxes out healing - all that has to happen is staying within healing proximity to one another. Which can be challenging with strangers.

I really appreciate the difficulty in Battlezone. Wish more games had a little slice o' souls in em'.

Yeah I'm liking that it's difficult too. We need to try maxing out the healing next time. One of the people I was with is really good and the other is still learning so we lost a few lives where we never should have.
 
I wonder how many lost sales can be attributed to SHC's unreasonable price tag.

well I bought it and while I dont regret it (when I should) I hardly play it because its so basic how it restarts and there's literally NO game modes. Its barebones as fuck.

$15 or bust.

Just finished it on normal, was pretty much just two of us all the way until two people joined at the last stage of the volcano.

Got the pacifist trophy earlier too, just joined a game as it was ending.

This game is so strangely difficult.

That final stage is traumatic. I got through on hard, but that's mainly down to the rest of the team, rather than my contribution.

There's a barrage of hoppers, bomb trucks, heavy tanks, turrets, plus the monster central turret. The biggest problem we had was lack of ammo, we kept having to fall back on the default blaster weapon.

The sense of achievement when the AI bit the dust, though? All worth it.

Why not? If I can't play any game without picking up another accessory, that's wrong. It's like selling a console without a controller

The camera does the tracking, so you need it to play in vr. That's why they have the bundle with the headset and the camera. The standalone headset is for those who already own the camera since it's been available since the ps4 launch. Not selling the headset on its own would be bad since many have the camera already

It's good to have lives in reserve just in case, but you should only need to use them if everyone dies at the same time.

The bleed-out timer is fairly generous. If you stick with your teammates they should be able to heal you before you need to use a life.

haha yeah that's what was going on. The guy who is newer to the game kept venturing off on his own and then he'd be too far for a revive

I can tell if I had a full team of people who knew what was going on, I'd have some really good runs.

Is anyone else playing Robinson: The Journey?

I finished the story and have been working on filling out stuff in my Infotarium and getting the trophies I need, but there's two animals I apparently haven't found yet -
the tortoise and the chameleon
- and I'm lost on
a third way to catch fish from the river, other than using the bait and using the satellite dish like a net.

Anyone get motion sick with Robinson? After about 30 minutes I started to feel........not so great. It could be dietary but I was a bit concerned since virtually nothing had made me motion sick so far. That said, it's awesome. It feels truly massive and very well done.

Those fleeting moments in Track Mania where they let you control from the seat of your car are amazing, but unfortunately few and far between.

Also I'm a little over halfway through the campaign and have got all golds and a few trackmasters, and I know I'm not that good. Grading seems much more lenient, and I don't see me playing this much more past the ~2 hours or so it would take me to gold everything.

So yeah Trackmania Turbo's VR Experience is pretty awesome. My only complaint would be the length of the tracks. There is essentially 40 or so short time trials. Its quite impressive and pure simple VR fun. It has very clean Image Quality and is much easier on the eyes than Driveclub VR (running both on normal PS4, not PRO).

I would say if you can pick this up cheap enough its definitely worth a buy. I hope they add more VR tracks for this in the future, I would happily spend money on Paid DLC for more on the VR side! 8/10

Also I feel this is pretty comfortable VR and I'll be showing this off to family and friends.

Because otherwise it would have forced people who already have the camera to buy another one.

As for the Move, there are plenty of games where it is either optional, or not supported at all.
 
Eagle Flight is SO dope. I'm in love.

Yep. Just spent an hour or so with it and it's fantastic. The sense of being there is great, but the thing which struck me most is the control scheme; steering with your head is so intuitive.

Graphically, the textures are a bit flat, and the animals look a bit last-gen, but I CAN FLY! It's hard to resist just swooping through gaps and around towers just for the fun of it.

Unexpected and awesome. You can see some UbiSoft heritage in there (are those collectable feathers out of AC2?), but trying to beat your best time through the underground tunnels feels like there's a lot of depth.

Haven't touched multiplayer yet. Any impressions? Is it just capture the flag/bunny?

Does max healing help if playing solo? It seems to only help teammates based on the description.

So who forgot to tell me Robinson was $60? Jeez I'm desperate for VR stuff but that is a bit much considering the impressions. Isn't the physical edition $40?

It is. The game is no way in any form worth $60, it's hardly worth $40. I got it from Amazon for $32 at least.

Eagle Flight sounds like it has good initial impressions. Wonder how it holds up?

Put in about an hour into Robinson. The game has potential, but between the pop-in, control scheme, and lack of real exploration, it feels unfinished. It's biggest draw is the anticipation of running into the wildlife. Audio seems to indicate there are creatures fucking everywhere. Really makes me want Jurassic Park VR.

- Separate mode of 40 VR tracks
- 10 tracks in 4 areas, but each area takes time to ramp up, so 2-3 tracks in each area are incredibly simple
- 200 base game tracks, unavailable in VR
- Custom tracks unavailable in VR

Gameplay
- For a game many assumed would be insane in VR, this game plays it pretty tame
- Camera chases the car and always faces forward unless you hit a wide u-turn
- Hood cam shows the hood and does not angle up or down, so when driving on a ramp/wall you have to look up or down to see anything

Technical
- This game drifts quite a bit and recentering does not recenter angle
- Once in a while the game will struggle and lag with head tracking forcing a restart of the game

Overall
The mode is fun, but in the context of what was originally promised and what we ended up getting, it's nothing more than a tagged on 'VR experience.' I would love to see more of this game in VR.

I've done time trials in the obstacle/acrobatic course and collection variety, escort missions, (one sided) dog fighting so far in my playthrough.

For some reason I thought it was multiplayer only, but a decent amount of single player stuff my sway me away from Rez

Fuck... VEV is hard. I played the tutorial level and then moved onto Fresh Water, and I could barely find any particles to collect before I ran out of juice. I tried it multiple times and couldn't get more than 150 or so before hitting 0. I wasn't really having any fun either. I mean the concept is cool and the graphics/VR look slick, but is it not tickling my fancy whatsoever.

I guess on the bright side, it was only five bucks. Sorry, m0dus. :(

thanks for giving it a go! Yeah, we designed it to be hard, but it's all about the challenge :)

When you're in the main menu, look on the monitor on your left - it gives you the hints you might need to succeed (including where to look in Freshwater)

Did you just do Freshwater? Try the others! also keep in mind that each stage is totally different. You really should give the rest a try before giving up :p
I tried Blood afterwards and that kicked my ass ten times harder than Fresh Water did. At least in Fresh Water, I lived long enough to run out of juice on my own.

I haven't deleted it from my PS4, I just wasn't feeling patient enough for a challenge tonight and was getting frustrated because I had trouble getting any traction (finding particles).

Did you bump up the turn speed by chance? Also food is everywhere in blood and CSF, you just have to mad dash to stay alive :)
No, I was using the default settings. The only thing I changed was inverting the Y axis because that feels more natural.

Other than that, just really cool, so fun just flying around, the control is intuitive and this is a perfect experience for VR. Seems to have a significant single player story mode, and collectibles which have had a bad rap but here are just fun to find. So far the gameplay is there, even some of these early levels can be challenging. Game is a great blend of relaxing/exhilarating, as weird as that sounds.

My 12 year old son also tried tonight, and so far it's his favorite psvr game.

I can't deal with games that make you use your neck as a joystick. I'm hoping they patch in controller flight controls.
