She kicked his ass in debates, ran better ads and had a better convention.

Where did she err? Why is this her fault and not that of a nation of buffoons?

If this was 2012 or 2008 she would've won. However, America has lost its collective shit to the point that Trump supporters would sooner doom us all than make the right choice for the country's future.

Can someone explain to me how, bare in mind analytics have not come out yet, large swathes of people who would be adversely affected by Trump's statements during the campaign vote for him?

Clinton had a more thought out plan, actual ideas, and everything else going for her but these people mad at Obama selected Trump. The fallback from this election will haunt the Republican party someday. Trump is so toxic that even his own party distanced themselves from him but now he becomes the President. WAT? Does this make any sense to anyone trying to understand how this happened?

Regular people got tired of media, celebs, twitter, and young college students telling them that common sense ideas about immigration, trade, and free speech were racist, sexist, outmoded and that they need to conform to progressive ideas or be quiet. They went out and voted to show that they still matter.

If anything, I am rather tired of 'real' people pretending anything they think is right is de facto 'common sense'. Happens across the board, and wins elections, but is rotten.

HOLY SHIT YOU COMPARED REAL LIFE TO A FUCKING COMIC OR A CARTOON!!! HAHAHAHA

so tired of this forum, people will likely lose important rights over this.

I did, actually. It's not my fault you dismissed the relevance of it just because it came from a comic.

But whatever, funny books are dumb and clearly have nothing to say...

Just be happy your kids aren't old enough to have to fight in one of the new wars we've just committed to.

They aren't, but I am, and I'm in the military.

I know it's minor in the grand scheme of things, but this has screwed me over, big time.

I'd love nothing more then to get out of the air force. It's driven me to the point where I'm depressed and have been suicidal in the past.

However, I have a kid, who gets his health care covered by Tricare. There's no way I could afford health care for him on the outside.

The GOP taking control has basically trapped me in a job that is literally driving me into a deep depression.

I know it's nothing compared to the greater shit show that's about to happen, but I needed to get that off my chest as I break down in tears.

Trump, the next president, will make a victory speech in front of a crowd that's chanting for him to lock up his political opponent.

I honestly want to die. *sigh*

I'm mostly not serious.

Hillary had way too much baggage to win this. Not everyone that voted Trump liked him, a great deal of them just hated Hillary, and many more were simply sick of what they perceived as establishment figures with recognisable connections and surnames.

Y'all had the chance to go with Bernie who actually inspired young voters in droves and could have won this, but y'all decided to go for a hawkish career politician with obviously subservient ties to Wall Street and more dirt on her than a sarcophagus. Yet so many of you smug HillaryGAF members had the cheek to slander Bernie and his supporters and claim he was the one that was unelectable.

Well played, America. Though, I suppose we can't really judge from across the pond when we allowed racists and xenophobes to vote us out of the EU.

2016 has been complete and utter garbage.

So you are saying that they disliked Hillary so much that they would vote for a racist and sexist. Ya that makes sense. Now they want to "Lock her up." What the hell is happening to this great country? It's like we went 50 years back.

Wow if Hilary doesn't end up giving a speech and just hides face she's going to look like a sore loser like (predicted) Trump would've been. She's better than this, she needs to come out.

It's so sad that the only hopes we have left is that Trump really never wanted to become president and autopilots his whole term, never doing the things that he said he would

It doesn't matter who we are, what matters is our plan.
I've had no sleep. British middle class white guy here, wondering what kind of awful world his son is growing up in.

2016 has basically drained every shred of faith I had in mankind.

Same. We have 2 year old and 2 week old boys. I am so sad for them.

So crooked Hillary didn't rig the election? How does that work?

trump said the US media was rigged in hillary's favour, he was right...the polls lied saying HIllary was ahead when it is now obvious she was not.

America had a chance to prevent this by voting Bernie over HIllary. When it voted hillary over Bernie this was an obvious possible result. People arent that stupid, they voted to get rid of establishment hegemony at all costs no matter who was on the card. It should have been Bernie, but that is pretty moot at this point.

Bernie wouldn't have done any better. Tonight has proven that hate, fear, and ignorance are the three most common character traits in America. Wouldn't have made a damn bit of difference.

He absolutely would've outperformed Clinton.

Turns out the pre-GE polls were correct - Clinton was the only one vulnerable enough to actually lose to Donald.

How do you beat someone who is promising their jobs, which are gone for good or short lived at best, are coming back? Do you up the ante on the lie?

She promised retraining. Which is more than Trump promised.

You literally can't beat someone who makes you "feel better", even if you have actual ideas and plans and policies.

I wonder if it'll be possible for the popular vote to go for the Democrats in all 3 votes. President is all but guaranteed. Senate probably is too since Texas didn't vote. House went for Democrats in 2012 while losing massively on seats, not sure how it'll look this time.
