A pic of the characters in their Kingsglaive outfits shows Ignis with a big scar near his eye. It's very possible he is blind, the walking stick next to him is also suspect.

The time travel was strictly for gameplay purposes and not plot related. Tabata said so in one of the interviews.

But who knows.....

We always knew the second half would be more linear. Tabata himself confirmed it and personally I have no issue with it. But I don't think it's good or bad either way until I play it. And killing Luna doesn't bother me either. It's something that happens. People will move on.

They looked at what parts to keep and what parts to change in order to put the plot in a single game rather than multiple. That said since Nomura was going for Shakespeare, a tragedy like this was always going to happen.

He did, but Nomura wanted to do a trilogy. So Tabata had to change a lot of things to fit the pieces in 1 story game.

It's obvious he's using these things to serve his own purpose, and again I'm not seeing what's such a big mess. From what I can tell most people playing this game will be absolutely fine with everything happening.
