I'm still surprised that XII is as divisive as it is in 2016. When I played that ten years ago (;_ I remember being blown away at the amount of content and the world building on display. In comparison, I found a game like Oblivion (which dominated that year) to be very inorganic with how it handled plot and nonverbal storytelling.
XII > XIII was the biggest leap the series has ever made for me. Not even the switch to 3D was as big of a tonal leap that that was. XIII seemed like it should have been the logical follow up to X.
Huh? I'm talking about the game as a whole. The Quiet shit was stupid, but even then people have moved on. It only gets brought up when you discuss MGSV. Even all the incomplete story threads with MGSV it still had great gameplay.
With no mans sky nothing will top that in the industry. At least this year. Sean won't be able to show his face or present a game without a public lashing.

sooo 7gb patch is to change this ingame model to Trump?
I dont get it, does luna's spirit hang out with you afterwards? someone says she will guide you further
It is a game 10 years in the making though, in one of the most beloved franchises ever. There is potential for a pretty big shitstorm if the game turns out to be bad.
Given next to no Easterner I know gave a damn about GG I doubt it qualifies as the greatest. Even to me it's more like alt-right brought into this industry than an actual video game issue
NMS on the other hand was an international shitstorm, and I blame that to false marketing. While FFXV marketing has been terrible so far, imo it's been rather modest with its FF for fans and newcomers motto instead of trying to sell itself as the best/biggest/greatest/whatever-est in the series

A huge shitstorm only happens to something extremely hyped up. FFXV has got plenty of shit thrown at it throughout the year, some new shit will just add to the pile. I think people might be pleasently surprised.

Yeah, but...maybe i'm being too optimistic (or pessimistic, i'm not sure which) in thinking that XV's story being divisive is not worthy of it when we have GamerGate or NMS (not that they are really comparable, but you know what I mean). Duke Nukem Forever was supposedly awful and it sort of feels like it was a case of "Oh, it's bad? *moving on*.
If MGS2 was released now the outcry would be huge. Probably because people form instant reactions rather than see the context in that case, and I know MGSV soooorta went for it again but the perception of it is so colored by MGS2 its hard to ignore.
I feel like if there is outcry over XV it will mainly be on GAF/Reddit and these sorts of places. From the sounds of it the actual game part of it isn't bad at all.

It'll be divisive among fans like any FF game but I think by the way this game is set up it'll be considered good. The open world to start off with has people excited and the gameplay is good.
Oh, yeah. Having played SOTC I expect something like that, in the sense of an experience vs anything else (and certainly one that sticks with you). You know, however, that there will be multiple people complaining that it is not more...ordinary.
Some of these 4chan folks seem pretty normal, but some of them are just poison. Love that they're picking on one of our members specifically like kindergartners at recess. Can't even manage a dialogue without throwing in slurs, yeesh.
Has there been any mention of exactly how summoning mechanics work, yet? It's just not worth the crap on my hands to sift through the shit on 4chan.

Wait really? Is that true? Because if that's the case, that sounds a lot cooler than what I was imagining. I'm worried though, hasn't Perubro been unreliable thus far with the Luna stuff?
I still don't understand what was so bad about the leaks or why it is disappointing so many of you?
Is it because Luna dies? The story doesn't sound that bad at all from the few paraphrased lines of text we got.
But then again any sort of big plot development in a game is usually met with "the story takes a nosedive" and "Kingdom hearts melodrama bullshit" on this site so I don't trust anyones opinion on here in regards to story
Other than Luna dying I'm not really sure what I learned about the plot. There seems to still be a bunch of info that is unknown. Kinda hard to make a judgement based on info without any proper context.
Lunafreya dying is disappointing but it is what it is. That CGI scene of her looks beautiful and I'm ready to get emotional when she dies. I never felt anything when Aerith died tbh.
The plot also sounds perfectly fine to me. All FF games plots are 'normal' in the beginning and get crazier as the game goes on. Remember that in IX,
the game is very political and by the end we end up going to an entire different planet. Shit's cray.
I'm glad XV is keeping up with the tradition.
As far as FF being anime, IX literally has a 'My friends are my power!' scene. Anime stuff isn't new.

I think its more a case of Luna being killed and the perception is that she was fridged, which I believe is a case of a female character being killed off solely to make a male character do something so she is reduced to a literal plot device. I'm not sure I entirely agree with that here but i think its basically a case of one of the only major female characters in the game falling victim to a trope.
Luna dying was a given since Tabata loves killing off characters. As long as her performance is good and they give me enough of a reason to care I think I'll be fine with what happens. That said, once leaks come out post-Train argument I'm out, I don't need to see anything else. These spoilers got me even more excited for this game. Fantastic.
Not sure if I would say I'm more excited for the game with this knowledge. Certainly not upset or disappointed though. Confused. I would say I'm confused.
The story can go Kingdom Hearts level crazy and I wouldn't care. I just wanted Noctis and Luna together. Anything else in regards to story would be okay with me.

They ruined it by having that scene with Ardyn slapping her be in the trailer. You knew then that was when she was going to die so I'm not shocked. I hope she still has a big role in the story though.

I feel like we just need the context of what's happening and why it's being done. Imagine the reactions if VII came out for the first time now and we saw images of
Aerith's death
without the context. Everyone would be really confused. I'm hoping Luna is at least
killed in a similar way as Aerith
(seen as a threat to the Big Bad's plans) and not solely just to drive Noctis.

I feel like the Omen trailer was worse. I didn't think they would show her die in a trailer when she was going to die in the game. SE being SE I guess.

From the sounds of it, she threatens getting in Ardyn/Ifrit/????'s way with her power, but is certainly left to die painfully (stabbed rather than obliterated) to gloat/taunt the others. Little from column A/column B?

Yeah. All we really got where a bunch of screenshots and a (semi-)confirmation a major character died. It's all out of context though. So I'm not really prone to having an emotion response about all this like everyone is since I basically understand nothing.
I love how people immediately freak out over some contextless random impressions on 4chan.
"Biggest shitstorm in gaming" lol
I got more than I wanted from here, I'm out.
Nah definitely not sarcasm. I don't understand how someone can get fulfillment from acting the way they do, but if that's how they get their rocks off it's nobody's business but theirs I guess. Glad you're not really sparing them a thought.
To be honest I wish this whole Luna nonsense hadn't happened at all. It's all anyone's talking about for some reason, and I'm way more interested in gameplay, encounters, stuff like that than I am about dwelling on a character death.
