I dunno man. I like Nayeon and definitely think she's underrated but I don't think she can reach Dahyun/J-line levels anytime soon. Maybe in another year or two?

You're probably right but they need to come out of the woodwork and unleash their axes. Shame all these manufactured idols who can only sing or dance, show them how it's really done lol.

Wait.. Isn't Nayeon the most popular after Tzuyu? I guess it's different in Korea and internationally.

Bizarro IU seems to pull out her guitar here and there.

------

I need a bunch of dance practice vids with good dancing and choreography

Here's a few more:

SR15B (NCT) 0701 <-amazing
UP10TION - Attention <-pretty groovy and an awesome leg kick thing
SNSD - Into The New World Remix <-back pre dance practice videos
Oh My Girl - Closer from overhead and from the front <-the new formations and transition champion (sorry Run Devil Run)

SNSD were super synced and appeared as a group of dancing machines pre-promotion and during promotion of Into the New World. There are maybe only a few natural dancers in that group but they trained so hard on it the result was super impressive. Faster and sharper than Gfriend's stuff now.

Of course then they had some less dance-focused songs and after a while got too busy to work 10 hours a day on a single performance and now they're very far from that level.

Nayeon is like the third best member.

배드키즈 (BADKIZ) - 귓방망이 2 (Ear Attack 2) M/V
They didn't have enough switching their sound, removing all the fun with their recent releases, they also had to ruin their biggest hit.

SNUPER(스누퍼) 'It's raining' 안무영상 (Beam Ver.)
This is so simple but, at the same time, so effective.

The production is so unremarkable. What are you doing jellyfish?

This process happens to all groups in varying degrees.
Impressive, from awkward teenager added in KARA 2.0 to solo success.

Unfortunately. Russian Roulette wishes it was as good as DumbDumbDumb
I like Russian Roulette even if it's just safe. Nothing to go crazy for (aside from Wendy)

As for Dumb Dumb Dumb, yes. Easily their best song along with One of These Nights.

Also, I signed up for a Spotify 3 month trial and a song from T-ara's Breaking Heart was the first song to come on. Crazy how good this album is:

over the top bubblegum of dumb dumb dumb and russian roulette?

those two songs are nothing alike tho :/
They both have this aegyo vocals and repetitive short vocal sampñes. I get similar vibes. I would like them doing somethin a bit more mature.

Lttp but I'm really enjoying "Letting Go" by Day6 lately.

"Blood" and "Hunt" from their mini are pretty good too.

It looks so cool & totally fits the feel of the song/concept.

I'm so excited for this tbh.

I've been seeing this tteokbokki monstrosity pop up on twitter recently and.. I want to eat it

Same. It looks so good *.*

Why did no one tell me about this nugu??

RUI - Exciting (Showchampion EP.198)
This song is so bad it's good and is now my new jam. Apparently she's from Japan trying to make it in the Kpop world. This song ain't gonna do it for her, but I think she's kinda cute in a weird way.
This girl is now part of a 4 member group called H.U.B or 허브, they only have fancams for now, but hope they decide to release new stuff at some point.
So debut is here:

H.U.B - 우리가 함께한 시간

Song has a surprising throwback chill vibe. Definitely not what I expect from a nugu debut. Keeping an eye on them. And of course, the group name is ridiculous
(Hope U Bounce) lol

Way back Wednesday c.2000, here's an obscure one. I asked my wife the other day if she remembered these guys, she said no. Someone bought me this CD years ago - I might actually still have it somewhere at my parents place.

@ (aka 골뱅이) - Queen of the Night

Two guys, one is half Korean, the other is completely Caucasian. They never gained success and disappeared after only a couple appearances on music shows like Music Bank/Music Camp.

^ That's Pão de Ló

Castella (カステラ Kasutera?) is a popular Japanese sponge cake made of sugar, flour, eggs, and starch syrup.
Now a specialty of Nagasaki, the cake was brought to Japan by Portuguese merchants in the 16th century.

It was always clear Sejong was meant for bigger things than that lame Gugudan group.

No wonder Koreans are getting fat af. In here they start putting cheese everywhere.

Me and a friend wrote a fan letter to Blümchen in the 90s.

She had a rather successful comeback in 2010 with an old song. People tried to get her #1 chart position instead of a terrible chart show winner's debut ballad.
They failed tho, only got her to #7.
(yes, the German music scene is that fucked)

Two leading members of Saenuri left the party.
They're about to establish a new conservative party in order to win the next year's president election again. Obviously with the current happenings Saenuri would be very unlikely to do well next year. Thus them leaving asap.
Meanwhile PGH just declines to step down, lmao. 2 million people expected to show up at Gwanghwamun sqaure this Saturday.
Additionally the judges of the constitutional court are basically super conservative doters, put in office by PGH which obviously doesn't help the process of getting rid of her.

Probably not this time. However PGH winning last elections was already unimaginable, in my book at least.
Our professor invited one leader of one of those protesting NGOs. She's a professor as well and knows her stuff, definitely. But the way she spoke about the possibilities to change shit was so weak lol. Felt really absurd to me, being used to a working judiciary. President is simply way too powerful to call it a democracy at this point. She said the only thing which can be done at the moment is continuing protests. However winter is coming and SKorea gets fucking cold. PGH's thinking is that the protests will last no longer than a couple of months anyway.
Just absurd.

However, people became more aware of corruption in government, the still prominent seniority bullshit system and maybe realize the importance of participating in political affairs. It's obviously a good thing this happened.
(I'm just mildly afraid of the day the chaebol system crumbles down like an old cookie.)
Lttp but I'm really enjoying "Letting Go" by Day6 lately.

Day6 are quite nice, indeed. Now that CNBros are dead or whatever they're def a good alternative.

I lost your quote on Age of Youth.

I'm watching right now the episode where all the girls (except Yoon, stuck in 가평) work at the convenience store. Hilarious.

Such a shame another drama like this will take decades to appear again. I love how they approach themes like prostitution, one night stands, our first love, "becoming a woman" and so on. The cast couldn't be more perfect.

I realized I liked all of them in different ways. the one with short hair, that can see the "ghosts", the way she talks is so freaking funny. I want my Korean fluency to be like that.

EDIT: Ryu Hwayoung aged into a FIIIINE woman, also.

I watched the 1st ep. of Age of Youth yesterday. I really like how they present all the characters as classical one dimensional trope characters, but they quickly drop it in the first episode, all tied in with the narrative of first impressions. The hook at the end caught me out of guard though, since it comes out of nowhere, but I trust your judgement.

I'm still waiting on confirmation, Star Empire...
