Just did the aiden pearce mission lol

One of the worst police ai on this generation. I hate fucking omnipresent ai.

I have to agree I love this game but the police AI is terrible, prob the only thing I dislike about the game, driving is not great but I can deal with that.

I started punching some guys and I have like 3 police officers on me in less then a min, come on now I didnt even pull a gun

Mafia 3 has the best police AI of any game tho

Just played this for 90 minutes or so. I just wanted to drop by and say that I love the first impression of SF and the general game aesthetic. I especially like how the game seems much more.. "have fun" as opposed to angst of Aiden. Now dropping out of the thread so I won't get spoiled too much.

The control changes had me at first, like sprinting is now click left stick. It's taking some time to adjust.

Yeah, I played WD1 weekend before release and was all confused. Got cops called at the get go cause I didn't know how to holster.

Started doing the driving missions and starting to get use to driving cars, its a step up from WD1 but still not great. I used bikes for WD1 and WD2, they are much easier to zip around on..

Then after that i got ambiently loaded into another players instance, where they were in a police chase and i could get the bounty. Chased them all over a mountain, we lost the police in the process, then i used Remote Car Hack to slam HIS car's brakes against his will, hopped off my bike and shot him straight through the windshield into his confused face.

What a game.

Haha. My first bounty hunter elimination went much faster: http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/TheKeyPit/video/23998025

Edit: Now that I'm looking at it again. This wasn't a bounty hunter event, right? :(

Finished the game.

Final mission is a bit of a letdown compared to the rest of the game, but still a solid game overall.

Just got my Platinum after about 45 hours. Final session I managed to get the two online trophies I was missing (complete a co-op mission, 5x DedSec missions) and special vehicle, selfie with someone vomiting and the 140m jump.

Online seemed to be a lot better today, was impossible for me to get into a co-op mission before today even though everything was supposedly online on the weekend.

Well there's still a few things left I could do like finish the last 5 or so co-op missions I haven't tried offline, get money bags and do the sailboat races but I'm pretty sure I will just call it a day for now. Might pick up the DLC down the line if it turns out to be good in a sale.

Will probably still boot up from time to time just to mess around in San Fran, I had a hell of a time. Definitely a contender for GOTY for me, though probably behind Uncharted 4.

Did anyone else not get their Twitch hoodie on PC? When I go to the premium section in the store it says "Not Installed" and there is no way to redeem it. Sucks because it's such an awesome looking hoodie.

One of the few openworld games where I like to constantly change outfits .

Currently rocking the iconic Aiden pierce trench coat but doesn't look as cool without that awesome walking animation .

Just unlocked main mission 'Hack Teh World', how far left to go? I totally forgot FFXV came out so I'm going to try and get through this tonight.

The crazy thing is that they had a really good system in WD1. I never felt like police chases were a hassle in the original. There were also more environmental hacks to help get you away from cops that were on to you and they weren't omnipotent either. Getting some space between you and a cop convey and then jumping into an alleyway and hiding in your car was very doable.

Why are posts like this allowed in OT? They aren't spoilers but definitely hype reducers

"hype reducer" is not a metric anyone should take note of when wanting to post an opinion about a game. Nobody is here to keep your hype in check.

And just for the record, I completely agree with his post.

Uh sure. Let's also gloss over the fact that it's end game content and not even meaningful. It's perfect with more detail to go into a spoiler thread where you talk about specifics about the content

You should invest in the mass disruption skills. Those skills make it easy to get away from anyone.

The only one i don't have is the mass vehicle hack.

The mass blackout is only effective if you use it at night and even then you probably have a better chance of getting away if you're on foot rather than a car chase.

The mass comm disruption doesn't do anything at all in a car chase.

I've been playing the game for a few hours on PC and while I very much enjoy exploring the map, the controls are a major downgrade from the first game and the vehicle handling feels just as crap most of the time and even worse when going at high speeds or jumping in the air. Ubisoft needs to do a full overhaul of it in the next game because damn is it bumming me out and making me want to just fast-travel everywhere. Shit doesn't feel like they improved it at all.

Never played the first one and got the game over the weekend. Played a couple of hours and I'm having a lot of fun with it.

He literally that he didn't like the final mission, single mission. He wasn't talking about the overall endgame. And even if he was this is the right place to talk about it. This is the thread people read who are interested in the game, not the spoiler thread so impressions and complaints are much better suited here than anywhere else.

I like the game, but holy fuck the cops are like a joke. They swarm you and know exactly where you are at all times. Plus, the helicopter lady shouting is incredibly annoying.

I really like the police in this game, actually.

I feel like they struck a nearly perfect balance between clueless and omniscient. Evading them when they are on high alert feels like a deliberate task instead of something you can do accidentally. I have to use back streets to evade patrol cars. I have to go to areas with a ton of buildings to lose line of sight with a helicopter.

I'm having a lot of fun planning those escapes.

So that side-mission (Shadows) with
an appearance from Aiden
was a letdown.

It was one of the first I did and
if I had known in advance that Aiden would appear in Watch Dogs 2 I'd expect some collaborative action. Even if he was imprisoned aiding his escape ought to have been like the Bedbug mission in Watch Dogs 1, instead of just a camera cutscene
.

All I wanted to do was
kill him for being one of the worst protagonists of all time. Was that so much to ask?

just bought it now it's finally on PC! ubisoft were nice enough to give me a 20% discount on top of their 27% discount (from £55 to £40 lol). got it for £32 so decided to pick up The Division as well! all in all it was £47.

i really enjoyed the first game so it's great to see so many people enjoying this one. it sounds like it's not perfect but even if it were more of the same as the original I'd be happy. i think i'll have a lot of fun with the game. can't wait to explore the map. it looks amazing.

I've been playing over the last few days, and the game has really grown on me. Especially since I now have the drone :p The first few hours were a bit messy for me, I couldn't get used to the combat or controls and felt very overwhelmed by the world I just seemed to be thrown in to.

The side missions are awesome, and have been my focus almost exclusively. I think I did one main mission "Cyber Driver" and have been driving around collecting shit, doing side missions, doing scout pictures, races....etc

Definitely a significant improvement from WD1. The game is good.

On the Shanghai'd mission. It;s frustrating the shit out of me, I don't know where most of these enemies are magically spawning from.

Currently grinding my gears: In WD2 world, being fat means you can take repeated shotgun blasts to the face, get run over (and over) by a radio controlled van and still not die.

But creep up and attack with yo yo? Insta-kill. Riiiiiiight.

I'm at that point I reach in all Ubi open world games - I'm kinda done, but so close to the end and the platinum that I can't stop. The online trophies are proving a real pain in the dick for me - Deadsec events just aren't appearing, and I'm not convinced the Bounty Hunter trophy is working.

I believe you have to kill the bounty with your own hands/guns.

So it has to say "31GhostsIV killed Stan_Marsh" on the top right.

It can't be the police , environment, etc.

Annoying ass trophy...thank God I don't care about Plat so I'll do em all except that one.

I've done that. I've even finished a mission and had a score come up for neutralized targets.

Club Ubi shows a grand total of zero taken out though.

So wrapped up my plat today. Final thoughts. Story is fantastic, when not taking itself too seriously, even when it is taking itself too seriously it only falls on it's face one time. Hacking is even more engaging, leads to plenty of gameplay enjoyment. Drone pals are great additions too. Lacking detail in comparison to Watch dogs. World feels barren at times. Lot of repetition in scrpted encounters, and npc bio hacking. The lack of dev time compared to WD is apparent. The map itself is good though. Combat is serviceable. Side quests are the best Ubisoft has ever done. Characters are the best Ubisofts done this generation. Probably best Ubi game this gen, single player wise. Watch dogs 1 is better technically imo, but quests, story, and characters amount to more. In general the length, without repetition usually found in Ubi games, does push it higher. Unfortunately, WD2 will only have 3 months to hold that tifle.

For those who have finished the game:

Did anyone else feel like after Horatio was killed, that he was put into the game at a later time specifically for that purpose? He wasn't involved in most of the game until the Nudle part and then he's kidnapped. It just felt like he was shoehorned in for that role as you really don't interact with him at all.

Also on the ending, I think the game could have used the other characters much more throughout the game. While I thought it was cool getting to use two of the others at the end, they easily could have explored this more throughout the game, or even pulled a GTA V and let you play as multiple people, doing different things in different locations to pull off hacks.

Yes. It was very odd too.
A lot of the Horatio stuff didn't make sense to me. Why kill him? What was the point? No idea why the Tezcas wanted him and he is the mission runner but almost never speaks. There is actually a weapon and vehicle and drone set of skins that has the other 4 kids on it but doesn't include him.

Got the platinum trophy last night. Pretty easy for the most part but I enjoyed it quite a bit. Fun game, an improvement over WD 1 for sure. I absolutely love the premise of this series so Im hoping for big things down the road.

Yep, it was never explained why he was taken. It was also strange how you clearly go on a revenge mission and you can just stun the targets and leave. It's really the only mission where you interact with a gang, other than when you destroy the ATM machines. Just felt forced like someone tried to come up with an idea to give you some emotional weight and have you interact with the gangs more. It definitely felt like there was probably more to the gangs that wasn't implemented into the final game.

U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!
Started this game today. As someone who LOVED Watch Dogs 1, I'm unsure what to make of this so far. I feel like I need time to adjust to the new controls/mechanics.

Man the lack of a run button feels really weird.

started this last night, and maybe its from playing a bunch of good stealth games this year, but the stealth here + level designs isn't amazing, and the checkpoint system is super brutal.

took me like 5 tries to beat that steal data from that not-scientology church, in which I keep messing up at the end when waiting for the data to download.

I assume it gets easier when you get more tools, but so far... its not amazing. The harsh checkpointing also kinda forces me to take way less risks, which kinda makes my playstyle a bit dull.

What are some good early game tips, upgrades worth getting?

Having the R2 button be used for climbing but not running is really disorienting when you just finished playing the Assassin's Creed Syndicate DLC the day before, where said button did both of those things. I keep holding down R2 out of habit.

Yeah. The game overall is good but you're right in that it definitely feels like some stuff they had planned wasn't fully implemented and the remnants of it are clues to what they were trying to do.

I know there were some logs related to why he was taken but I couldn't find them all. The only clue I got was the gang leader talking to a subordinate that they better not screw up and she was saying they were definitely going to get him and he works at nudle.

What kind of play style are you trying to do? For any style I recommend getting the quadcopter. If you want to shoot people, buy silenced weapons. Two of them have scopes. At the scientology places you can sort of get high ground and shoot people. Other upgrades are APB calls and gang hits to thin out your enemies. Use distract on them when they are in a fire fight so they have a higher chance of losing. Remote controlling things is good for quieter and stealthier runs. And you may want to kill people who can call for reinforcements first.
