Yes! Finally a FF13 character I actually really liked...Fang! She was defiantly my favourite character from the game and will pull for her this week. By the way, I'm actually liking the Magicite drops from this event...have gotten some nice level ups on my Espers because of it. I'm still going to avoid the Trust Moogles and Tickets this time round though.

I have some great DPS units so I should be able to 1 turn this dragon if the HP remains the same.
Of course it won't and they will buff it to 1 Million or more. The big problem will be his elemental resistances, proving one more that why elemental weapons suck. I should have farmed Save the Queen instead of Excalibur x.x

Told ya all that they were going to add characters and not drop them to the bonus rate of the banner. Now they just need to boost the Metal Gigantaur encounter rate to something better than 1 in a 1000 or whatever the fuck its at. Then the event will be.... tolerable?

Holding back on the daily pulls and tickets until next week in the hopes of pulling a Lightning (fat chance), but mainly saving my lapis for bundles, banners and whatnot in the coming weeks. Got Snow on my one and only daily pull this week, so I'll just stick with that.
I've been doing the event casually and managed to snag all of the cactuars and the first 2 tiers of tickets. I'll probably aim for the third tier of tickets, the mats for Winged Saint and then maybe the SQ and general 6* mats after that once the drop increase hits next week when I borrow everyone's Lightning. (Assuming I don't land my own, of course.)
All in all, I hated this event at the outset, and I still feel like it's not all that great, but I've managed to get a good chunk of the stuff I wanted and have leveled up Carbuncle to 2*, level 31 with all of the meg/magicite drops. I guess I can't complain too much about it, in the end.

Yay, finally got ELT Gilgamesh down! Failed first run without a tank (WoL) using Valentus' Gilga, as even with two healers and awesome Gilgamesh, he just put out too much damage.
Got WoL to 80, and tried again with Bokeng Gilgamesh;

Fight was difficult, even with tank, as the Wind blade attack ripped WoL health down quick, and even with Agrias back up healing with Cura, he'd still only be at 55% after heal up. Got him to 20% before he wiped out Tilith/Chizuru, and everyone else at 25-40% HP. Decided I'd have to go all in and just hope he died, and.... he did
Would have been so much easier with a Cecil or a DC Refia, but I'm glad he's done at last. Thanks so much for the adds guys (I have another two free slots after clearing inactive players) and good luck for your future pulls

I think I'm done farming the event till Friday. I don't have much left to get and now that they've confirmed that Lightning will be getting a bonus and this weeks units won't be losing their bonus there's no point me wasting nrg this week.

Finished Exacalibur this morning. Woot. Continuing on Doublehand + Growth Egg + ???. Probably blade mastery?
Glad Lightning is 100% bonus next week. Hoping to see all the OP friends to carry Sazh across the line. Lightning+Sazh should get around....350 gears a run. Still bad, but better than before.

So I need 65,200 gears for the stuff that I want remaining....should be fun. Still haven't seen a effing Gigantuar.
Well, with the confirmation that the event will include everyone in the bonuses, I feel ok about TM farming til Friday. I will do the event enough for the knuckles and the tickets and call it a day.
Anyway, I was hoping someone could give me an idea who knuckles are good on? I have two Xiaos that I am farming and I don't know if I want to combine or keep them both.
I have a WoL and Cecil so I don't see too much Snow in my future. I have a Bartz that might benefit from Kaiser Knuckles. Do they stand out on anyone else or is 1 enough?

Does reflect and targeting yourself count as using magic on it? Sometimes it checks who you target rather than who you hit.

Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far, away, I noticed that there was a very strong synergy between the two major summoners in the game, Rydia and Garnet, that could be exploited to absurdity (at least on paper). Back in the first thread, I chronicled the exploits of raising and maximizing the summoning power of Rydia. To that extent, she is practically complete (currently at LB level 17/20), but none of that is any good in reality without a Garnet. Comically, I'm close to (or possibly am at this point) the only GAF vet remaining from the Global launch (159 days) who still hasn't pulled a Garnet yet.
Brutal. Stubborn GMs are unforgiving.
Just in case. This one will be a hell of a trial. My only physical DPS is DKC and even with whale friend, not really sure.
Can't be fullbreak-ed nor deprotect/deshell.
So, let me get this straight:
--- Using any physical abilities at all = instant wipe.
--- Using offensive magic on it during odd-numbered turns = instant wipe.
--- Killing it too fast = probable instant wipe.
--- Randomly automatically kills someone every fourth turn.
--- It's going to destroy the tank quickly. Constant dispel of debuffs on tank needed?

Thought maybe running PRO wirh Sazh * 3 with Vanille/Snow would finally outperform ELT? Nope :/

Good news - Cactuar Dunes is back this weekend, definitely going to pump out some refreshes to get some units leveled. I'm really sick of Sacred Crystals being my bottleneck at every turn.
Event is going well, Almost got enough for the 30k moogle, then it's just whatever 6* mats I want to stock up on. The Megacites got my carbuncle up to 2* level 28 already, so that's awesome.
Not sure if I want to take a stab at a pull for Lightning. I already have a bunch of good 5* bases, and don't really need her. Might do dailies to see if I can get Hope/Fang for collection purposes.
What are we expecting the next event to be? FF1 with WoL and Garland 6*?

So with Lightning coming back to the banner, I'm trying to decide if I should go all-in for her. I have ~7,500 lapis right now and will have 4 summon tickets.
I don't have dual wield, so I know she's an automatic improvement over my CoD because she gets it innately. But is she SO much of an upgrade over CoD that it's worth dropping the lapis/tickets on? Should I just do the dailies/tickets and drop an 11 pull at the end of the week if I don't get her by some random stroke of luck (would be my first rainbow)? Is there another unit down the pike that will eventually surpass her and has innate dual wield that I should save up for instead?
There's also the fact that damn near my entire friend list seems to have her already, so it's not like she's totally outside of my regular repertoire anyway.

44 Defense. Coupled with 2 champion's belt you'll get +40% of base defense on top of that.
I think you only need one knuckle and both belts will proc, but I can't say 100% for sure.
I think it will be 10h with extended maintenance. But announcement is 8h.

Is Winged Saint worth getting if:
1) I already have Cecil
2) Don't have a WoL
3) Current full breaker is Ingus
I guess I assume it is because WoL is probably better than Ingus?

What if I don't ever see myself having 2 champion's belts?
Should I keep daily pulling? I have 2 Sazh already, I guess Snow would be nice for TM but lol. There's a handful of units I still need but I mostly end up with Vivis and the like. Feels extremely bad also considering the Decemeber login bonues have almost no Lapis. I'm still looking for Zidane, CoD, Chiziru, or units with future 6*... honestly outside of 5* base units I think that's all I really need.

Interesting. Do people spec out WoL with Dual Wield with this Sword/Glove, or go Glove/Shield?
How would you feel if you pull him in the future but dont have the weapon? Your WoL will never be perfect. The same apply to Snow.
If you are ok with this, dont bother.
No need to have Dual Wield. The bonus will apply with only one fist.
Seeing as Holy Crystal drops just as often if not more than Sacred Crystal, why isn't it utilized more in awakening? I have over 99 saved up while grinding for SC and can't use them fast enough. I wish there is a way to trade them for SC, even at a 5 to 1 rate or something would make them infinitely more useful.

Just remember that having Golem equipped means that unit will be taking 50% more wind damage. This is why my WoL was getting trashed since he was using golem. I used Baraerora to make the damage more tolerable, but he was still behind the 8-ball most of the time. Managed to win without any trouble on my second try since the first time I went in without Baraerora and with CoD's elemental protection, I couldn't keep WoL alive. Sucks that Provoke is on Golem. Heh, heh.
I'm never getting Lightning, either. It'll be nice to have the 100% bonus, though since I usually use everyone's Lightning as the friend unit. Still haven't seen one of the cactaur things in this event. I'm thinking they don't exist....
Man, it would be awesome to have some great physical damage dealers. All I have is CoD.
