I also asked about that shirt the moment I saw Miyamoto on Fallon

Hope it becomes available somewhere soon.

I think it is a possibility, but we have to think what would a Samurai Mario be able to do, that normal Mario wouldn't?

If it is a power up, it needs to bring some gameplay element to the table.

Wall running Ryu style.

Well the globe-trotting part was a good guess but each world isn't based on real locations.
I prefer the direction Super Mario Odyssey is taking, allows for more creativity.

As an aside, the cap power-up seems to be the best, fun and usefull Mario power-up since Cloud Mario.

Nintendo is never this clever. Remember the Metroid pin on reggies jacket? People hyped themselves up for a new Metroid Prime for the Wii U lol.

Kinda just realising that Super Mario Odyssey is the full realisation of the cancelled CD-i Super Mario World sequel that was set in locations inspired by the real world.

I get the weird feeling that Odyssey will be the new Mario "world" where he travels around a real world inspired place and stamps on turtles.

Also, lol: I just checked the Wiki listing for the cancelled CD-i game and it's weirdly detailed as if it was written by the devs themselves.

"Developers Silas Warner and John Brooks were drafted as the game's designers, and worked 24 hours a day for two weeks on the game, finishing only a part of one level to present to Nintendo. Their meeting with the Nintendo developers came at 8:00 AM on a Friday morning, and they had their short part of the game on a disc four hours before this."
