Rime Re-Reveal gameplay trailer (PC/PS4/XB1/Switch, May 2017)

no, not really.

Visually? No.

Gameplay wise? It does, as it actually seems like a game now, not running around in a pretty world.

Which, by the way, i have nothing against. I love games like Abzû, it just didn't look that interesting for a game with this concept.

I don't have a good feeling about this game, I do hope that it turns out OK in the end though as it looked really interesting at first.

Well, the only thing Tequila Works did before this was Deadlight. You should be cautious with the hype around this game. :p

Honestly you'd expect gamers to be used to most games not living up to the promise of their reveal trailers graphically. And yet this seems to wound them afresh every single time.

Still pissed at them for dropping the ball and fucking this up. The potential.
New gameplay trailer got that washed out/downgraded look with Witness art style. Hope the actual game turns out decent.

Ueda and co certainly have the monopoly on tall arch-ey bridges.
Not sure if you're being sarcastic, but that part reminds me specifically of TLG because of a similar looking building in a section of TLG, and the bridges you're going across shortly before that section...

For whatever reason I was way more hyped for the original reveal... Thought it looked a lot better before, but havent watched the original in over a year or so.

Ooook.

So... the trailer is surprisingly good. Very varied too, the game seems like it's there.

Yet,... let's say I don't trust the developer enough to get excited.

Let's see...

What concerns do you have? I'd love to address them!
I wasn't aware I had concerns? Do you mean because I don't think it looks as interesting as when it was first shown in 2013? That's not a concern, it's just lost something over that time. As others on here have mentioned.

Well, lets change that! I am here to help alleviate any concerns!

Looking at the reveal trailer, frankly I barely see any difference. Don't understand why some talk as if it's a Watch_ Dogs- or The Witcher 3-level downgrade.

At least we know this time it's real and coming out since we got the community manager on board. I wish you guys the best of luck and hope you deliver a good game. Godspeed.

Ah I understand completely. Sorry for the misunderstanding on my part!

Biggest surprise this year so far. I legitimately thought this was dead and buried. Would love to know what on earth went on during the development of this title. Didn't it start as an Xbox exclusive until they dropped it and then Sony picked it up for PS4 and then they also dropped it?

This looks so cool. I know it's had it's problems, but it looked cool then and it still does now.

TEAM ICO styled game without the wait :D

Gamers, based on speculation surrounding the fact (the only official fact we actually know) that Sony had stopped backing development. We don't know why they did, we only have guesses. And those guesses are where the "bad rumors" have come from.

so this never happened then, a guess translation i suppose?
So in this video in the 11:00 and 11:43 they lied?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHIlAHipGPY

What's the translation there?

"We didn't knew we had to submit a trailer for Gamescom, we thought Sony would handle it themselves. We ended having to cut some portions of the game to put them in the trailer"
"The trailer is representative of what the game looks like, but some cameras won't work like that. The game won't have cutscenes, everything is playable"
"The game is coming out next year, it's pretty much confirmed, ask Sony to give details" (this interview was in 2014)
"The game is playable from beginning to end, everything regarding content is finished, we just have to polish it"
"People who have finished the game have cried watching the ending"

Yeah... lol

Finally an update on this. Since its original reveal, every 4-6 months I remember it and have looked for more info on its release.

Does anybody have a link to the original trailer for this from many years ago? I remember the boy character model being more cell shaded and being an almost exact clone of the boy from ICO.

Maybe I am just imagining things because all of the older trailers I've found have the same character model as the new trailer, but I could have sworn it has changed.

No it very obviously draws heavily from all the Ico games.

Question is if that will work out better in 2017 right after a new one came out, or if it made more sense years ago when this was announced and TLG didn't really exist and new PS4 owners were thirsty.

Actually rumors are from a well known dev here that once worked at the studio or something along does lines. It's a lot more than "guesses"

Gameplay: game looks like a game now. You see stuff to do in the trailer, a direction for the game mechanics-wise.

Graphics: less bright colours, looks slightly desaturated, the sky looks worse, the image quality in general is worse.

Vibes: the visuals and setting of The Witness, the atmosphere of Ico and Journey.

Just a slight downgrade. I'll happily take this over nothing. Hope the game ends up being good.

Since its a IGN first title I expect they we'll have a longer gameplay video up this month too. Im very interested in seeing that

Hello, my name is Yves Guillemot, Vivendi S.A.'s Employee of the Month!
There doesn't seem to be any technical downgrades so much as artistic changes, in fact, that model may possibly be an upgrade over the one seen in the target render, the face of the model seems a little more complex based on the range of expressions shown in this trailer compared to the original.

Glad I can play this on-the-go on Switch.

Definitely downgraded visually from the reveal trailer, and this trailer was just a big awkward and poorly put-together...but the game still looks excellent. It's like Ico meets Witness.

Color scheme is a bit muted for my tastes but other than that the level design and geometry look pretty interesting, and the enemies quite unique.

It certainly is pretty, but knowing Sony pulled their support last year, I'm definitely waiting for reviews before buying this one.

Yeah, it looks good, but I've lost some faith in the project because Sony dropped it. I'll need to wait and read some reviews first.
