Well, no shit? It's the next Nintendo handheld and console, where would the next mainline Pokémon game be released on if not the Switch?

There's no way they're going to announce stars this early and hamper sales for sun and moon. Even if it's true, gamestop is probably just making assumptions here.

Some Pokémon fans refuse to believe that Pokémon Stats is Switch-only, even after the Eurogamer leak.

They better remaster sun and moon for the Switch.

Something which I don't think will happen..
Stars is said to be the third version of Sun/Moon. Think of it like what Platinum was to Diamond/Pearl.

Came here to post this. I'm not expecting a main pokemon game to be more 'console like' just because the switch can be plugged into a tv.

Hype confirmed... Any chance Splatoon/Pokemon are launch titles?
Splatoon at launch is likely (& it's rumored to be a pack-in for the Deluxe Bundle). Pokémon Stars was supposedly planned for Summer, but it got internally delayed due to Game Freak having to polish Sun/Moon in time for Holiday 2016 (according to Eurogamer).

I wouldn't expect Starts until summer at least. Maybe some spin-off, shuffle, snap... game for launch could be.

But I'm a strong believer that Switch version was the intended one for SunMoon and that the 3DS one was a port, so launch title could happen.

Possibility A: Secret Gamestop leak!!!!!

Possibility B: This is a slapdash press release thrown together by cobbling things from the preview video and basic inferences that Nintendo's biggest franchise will appear on Nintendo's only hardware and the fact that press reporting has widely discussed a port of Sun/Moon.

I literally saw this on that page yesterday and thought: "I don't remember this being there. Oh well, it probably isn't new."

I guess I was wrong.

Only saw people expecting/speculating it won't be at the next event, but if you say so.

I can see them push it to October/November.

If only because its sun/moon was too recent.

E3 first place it'll be shown.

This will be the first mainline Pokemon game that I play through. I'm playing through Digimon Cyber Sleuth right now and it's got me itching for more games like it.

Not likely given what Eurogamer said about Stars. I wouldn't expect it to launch until Fall 2017.

I really want Pokemon Stars to be real so I vote A!

You guys need to read into this more.

"Skyrim on the go or Pokemon at home."

This pretty much confirms that Skyrim only works in mobile mode and the Switch must be docked at all times in order to play Pokemon.

A revisited Alola experience + a new post-game would be amazing. I mean, I love the game but it's obvious the 3DS is holding its true potential. Let it shine in Switch then.

I mean, what else did people think the next Pokémon game was going to be on?

There were people who seriously thought Nintendo was going to make a handheld platform for Pokemon and other handheld game franchises. Obtusely ignoring what the Switch intended to do.

Don't expect the same kind of gameplay. Cyber Sleuth had more of a JRPG balance, whereas Sun/Moon (while much better than previous instalments) is still very Pokemon in its gameplay.

Nor exactly sure why I bought Moon at launch, i have so many games I want to play first I doubt I'll get around to it before the Switch versions come out.

Pokemon on the Switch is something I would legitimately bet my life on. Hell, I would've taken the bet a decade ago too.
