TBH, while I do understand the sentiment about these 'horrific' threads, this is why maybe something like this doesn't always fall under that rule.

I do think that there is some value in countering a lack of understanding from some people on just how deep rooted and severe the fear and hatred can be. Some people seem to think that these social issues or the concerns of minority groups are overblown.

Maybe sometimes shining a light on the horrible extremes of this way of thinking might crack the empathy door just a bit for those folks? I dunno

There are people who think homophobia is over or that like to downplay what lgbt people go through. Though this is in Brazil so its not even related to any election.

I know humanity has achieved amazing things and I didn't want to condemn all of us, because of these kind of people. As I said motivation is secondary, for a mother to do this after carrying a child to term and raising him and the different things that happen in the body chemically to create bonds and protect children, to be able to willingly commit premeditated murder of the child over sexuality points to a lot more being wrong under the hood.

That specific generalization just really bugs me, that's all. Misanthropy isn't a constructive or healthy reaction to isolated cases of inhumanity. Better to reject our species' capacity for cruelty and affirm our higher values.
