Funny and all, but I still maintain that the series peaked 20 years ago in terms of art style:

Saturn Bomberman was so so fucking good. I miss it.

Anyways this looks fun. So I bought it for $60, but I have a feeling the price is going to change so whatever. Ordered from Amazon and they don't charge until it ships.

I was honestly hoping the game would look somewhat remotely like the box art

I'm really let down by what I saw. Hugely missed opportunity. I hope the game is good, at least. Bomberman deserves a lot better than it gets.

I swear I'm looking forward to Konami announcing the finalized price for this more than I am BotW. It'd be neat if they did something similar to Puyo Tetris with a slight discount for digital buyers, though passing on that sweet boxart would be a hard choice.

If the game is $40 I'll buy it.
$30 and I will pre-order one right now at whichever retailer that has it available.

$20 and I'll throw on a cotton white balaclava and some hot pink slip ons and toss around little black volleyballs at my local Gamestop

right now amazon germany wants 49,99€. 10€ less would be better imho.
Thank you for the link, preordered it right now. So my preorder is currently at 470€ (Switch Neon, Carrying Case, Breath of the Wild, Bomberman). I really hope the game prices go down 10€ each, BotW still sits at 69,99€.

It's pretty interesting that they decided to mix and match the rounder bomberman land headed bomberman with the more classical square headed bomberman.

posts like this are just... i don't get how anyone can believe this

it's extremely likely that this game will be a success. sales will be high because of the reasons emily rodgers outlined (although I disagree with some of her points), and mainly because there's no other fucking games apart from zelda lol.

that being said, I think Konami will go for either $40 or $50. I'm pretty sure other options would result in less revenue. I'm hoping for $40, and think it'd do best at that price point, but I'm sure konami are doing a lot more market research than I am.

It's worth keeping in mind that Bomberman's last major appearances were on Wii/360/PS3 in $10 downloadable, multiplayer-only games. Even with a single-player mode this time around, $50 or $60 is going to feel like a ripoff especially when compared to Zelda. I think they'll go for $40, but even that might be pushing it for the average consumer.

I really think $30 is a fair price.

If handled properly it could help to relaunch the IP.

If Best Buy would actually let you preorder it, with GCU and the $25 off Visa Checkout thing, it'd be roughly $35 when paired with another game. I can deal with that.

Confirmed in a Press release. Photo-Real Graphics included!

Makes me wonder if Online is ready to go on the Switch or if it's Wii U online with a new coat of paint.

Still nice to know we can bomb eachother at launch and 2 player story mode co-op?

Really happy that this is a launch game. I had recently played Super Bomberman 1 and 2 last fall. Both are really good games.

Bomberman Ultra didn't have an entire story mode with boss fights like this game.

I think $30 is a fair price for this.

But I get the feeling that they'll price it at $40.

When Nintendo is pricing One Two Switch at 50, I don't see why Bomberman wouldn't be aiming for that at least.

My Bomberman history started with playing Mega Bomberman via Sega Channel. And I absolutely loved the single-player in it.

But loved the multiplayer in Bomberman 64 the most. And its single-player was pretty good.

I'll totally grab this if the single-player is akin to either.

Yeah except I wasn't joking. I do think that those pics you posted look great and represent the kind of art I'd want in the game, but the only Bomberman game I truly love is Dyna Blaster (European MS-DOS version of Bomberman) as it happens to be the one I played as a kid. Of course I've played other versions of the game but in terms of how precise it feels it's still the best.

It's finally up on Amazon US. They have the price at $59.99. I love me some Bomberman but I'm not going above $30 or $40 since amazon offers 20% off for preorders. Sad truth is its not a Nintendo developed game and will likely price drop fairly quickly. Not that I want it to er, bomb or anything.

That boxart though.

It's surprisingly good looking and in line with the old early 90's bomberman aesthetic. The visuals for this game are okay, but they're a bit lacking. They need more color; they don't pop. It's actually a bit problematic because it makes it more difficult to make out destructible blocks and other objects. It's not game destroying, but a brighter color palate and a bit more cartoon-y design would have been nice.

That boxart though.

Dang, that looks fantastic!
I love how much personality the bombermen all have (I'm especially partial to the women on the team, I love those girly Minnie Mouse-esque designs).
Everything I've seen so far looks pretty dope.

You know if the reception of Bomberman Saturn is anything to go by, this series (which I love btw) has the potential to be really great; hopefully this one can be just that, really great.
Plus I think the series fits into Nintendo's software ecosystem like bananas on a PB&J, so it's a great grab on that front.

Btw part of me wishes that White Bomber called them all "brothers" in the trailer because the pink and aqua ones are actually just very feminine boys.

Is there any significance with the 33rd Anniversary? Perhaps I'm missing a joke? Seems really random otherwise.

But yeah I am totally down for this on cart.

I love Saturn Bomberman, I also think Bomberman Fight! Is super underrated.

Switch Bomberman reminds me of the old high res Windows 95 Bomberman, but I still appreciate it.

They have to fix the framerate though. Please?

Okay, I guess I'll get this game at launch. I showed the trailer to my girlfriend last night, and she recalled playing something like that before. We checked the trailer a few times, and decided to play it on local co-op together.

Thank god for Joy-Con's, local co-op straight out of the box.
