Considering it was an unannounced title AND a switch launch game, it's likely Nintendo had a hand financing the development, especially considering they had a contract deal with Konami to license out old Hudson IPs.

I would think ports are not likely.

I'm picking up both Zelda and Bomberman at launch regardless, but it's really irking me that we still don't know the price for this.

Same, will be picking up these 2 games, hopefully bomberman won't be a full cost game, otherwise I might have to wait for a price drop.

After speaking with a Konami representative, Siliconera has learned that Nintendo and Konami worked together to make Super Bomberman R happen. Moreover, the site reports that Konami's internal team is handling development, which is comprised of former Hudson staffers who contributed to past Bomberman titles as well as Hexadrive.

I was heavily debating if I was getting this for $60 (I'l be there for sure at $40), but the screens for the boss battles and the amount of love it seems to pack in its convincing me it might be worth $60 (Well, $48 with GCU/Prime).

I do wish it had something like a Bomberman amiibo.

Looks worse than most of the older versions to be honest. I'll probably buy it if it's not at full price. I'm sure it'll look better in person and the gameplay is what really matters.

I feel this release has me most excited because it might get bomberman into smash bros.

I don't know why it would be $60 if we have an official price coming in a few days, seems like a weird thing to hold out an announcement for. Then again this is Nintendo and Konami, they do strange stuff every now and then.

Every other retailer has placeholder prices, Konami has said for us to wait a few days for an official announcement on price. Assume any price before this announcement is a placeholder.

I still can't fully believe we're getting a new Konami sanctioned, former Hudson employee developed Bomberman game as a Nintendo Switch launch title.

...Jeez.

If someone would have put that on a prediction list a few weeks ago, it would have been laughed out of the door and followed up by the usual fuckkonami barrage.

Then again, many people now seem to have gone from surprise to acceptance and immediately on to criticism about things like the presumed price and the graphical style, reminding me again that I'm on Earth and amongst (Gaf) humans afterall.

I don't know how this isn't a bigger deal.

BOMBERMAN!! I mean, I get it isn't gonna be huge, but BOMBERMAN IS ALIVE!. There is some sort of minor, miniscule pulse in Konami as a company.

It's basically the 2nd biggest launch game too, so I'm hoping it does well and Konami maybe decides to occasionally release games again

This game should have no right to exist and I am so happy that somehow it has managed to get made. I only have fond memories of Bomberman with the highlights being time spent on Super Bomberman 2 and Bomberman Generation.
