So is there a comprehensive list of titles for PSVR this year? Now that RE7 is out what is in the pipeline? Most lists I see look mad sparse.

So I decided to finally take the PS4 Pro out of the bedroom and hook it up to my my living room setup + the PSVR...

Holy.

Shit.

I cannot believe how much better the IQ looks on the Pro compared to the Base model PS4. I tried RE7 beginning hours, Thumper and Playroom VR before switching over to the Pro all so I could have a good frame of reference and holy crap. To say the jump in the image quality was significant would be an understatement.

I'm kind of gonna miss 4K/HDR in the games that supported them (my living room TV isn't a 4K model) but, what I get with the Pro + PSVR is more than worth it.

RE7 is much more terrifying than playing without VR. The first hour or so had my palms sweating. I had to take off the headset after an hour and a have due to headache from playing too much though m :(

I handled the RE7 demo by getting a good buzz on. I'm not sure I can consume all the alcohol it would take to get me through the full game. I'm all digital so this is a big $60 decision.

I must just be desensitized to things that are terrifying, but RE7 hasn't scared the crap out of me yet. Certainly not in the sense of needing to stop playing out of pure fear. I mean it's caught me off-guard a few times, I jumped, swore, whatever, but nothing has rocked me to my core or stands to give me nightmares; yet, at least.

Still, it's pretty freaking awesome! I'm glad that I'm able to play it in VR, I don't think it'd be anywhere near as atmospheric playing on the TV. I'm glad that I put myself on a media blackout for the game so everything I see is new to me (other than stuff from Beginning Hour). I just
fought Jack in the Morgue and sliced and diced him like luncheon meat with the chainsaw. He actually wrecked me the first few times I tried to beat him, chewed through all of my ammo once or twice. It wasn't until I made sure I had two item slots free to be able to grab the chainsaw that I succeeded. What an awesome boss fight, though! "This time, stay dead."

I saw someone mention that the patch for Bound came out. I'll have to give that a try soon. The camera was my biggest gripe with the game, so hopefully the new VR camera is a little less annoying.

Bound is amazing now, thank you for the patch. It's so much more fun with the follow camera, way easier to play and platform and the sliding parts at the end are just a totally different great experience.

Best VR platformer now.

Resident Evil 7 is pretty amazing in VR. Only played up until the second manual save point (so the first save point after the opening sequence), but I can't wait to play more!! The VR definitely changes the experience, being able to peer around corners, etc...

For those with no nausea, don't forget to go into the options menu and turn off the FOV limiter for a more immersive experience!

Also, VR Ping Pong trophies popped up on PSN today, anybody up for it lol?

If it works well, I'm in. I love table tennis and really, really dug the Sports Champions Table Tennis game. For $10 I'll give it a shot.

EDIT: Really hope you can add top and bottom spin and smash the ball :)

Agreed, it's like going from 480p with blurry spots to very near 720p in the best cases.

Definitely. If more developers can follow with meaty experiences like this, PSVR will indeed be locked in as a worthwhile purchase. FROM and Sega/Atlus (still say Etrian VR is a no brainer) need to get in on this. I'd like to see a Falcom dungeon crawler but thats wishful thinking.

Last we heard From is making a PSVR game, but I dont think there are any details, and maybe been awhile since it was listed.

Man, Resident Evil 7 in VR is pretty crazy. Like, the game itself is obviously pretty intense already, but the VR magnifies that intensity multiple times over.

That being said, I think this is one that people really need to spend some time fiddling with the VR options. I generally am not negatively effected by VR, but this one hit me a bit harder. I think the major problem is that smooth turning with the stick causes problems when you are turning your head at the same time. It was a little too much for me to handle.

RE7 is just so damn good in VR. I kinda feel bad for people playing it who can't play it in VR. There's a little nod to RE1 early on that was really cool.

I'm not sure if that would work because sometimes you lead the racket quite close to your face. So smashing the Move controller into your headset could happen quite often.

Hey Managed to get a PSVR in Argos around 50 miles away from me out of sheer luck, picking it up tomorrow, but I was wondering, how does it work with an AV receiver? Can I use the receiver still or does it need to go straight into the TV?

PS4 into PSVR box. PSVR box has two outputs - one to the headset and one to your TV (or AC receiver in this case).

ok, so quick question. I am playing normal difficulty on psvr. I have played around 90 min, shit is good. however, the 2 times I encountered a bad ass enemy
Mia and the Father that uses the shovel the beat the crap out of us
I took more damage than I think I should, maybe because I don't have the same agility with psvr as opposed to regular mode. I was able to beat both of them, but I am not sure if I will get screwed later on the game if I keep playing like that. what do you guys say?

also, I trthink to play with smooth transition instead of angle and got really nauseated. I use angle, 30 degrees. what about you? and I use mainly the analog, I think it is faster than just turning the head all the time and hitting the analog stick up

I kinda wish you could be spotted if you're too cocky whilst sticking your head round a corner. It seems the characters can't see you at all unless your body mass is in thier line of sight :/ Peering = invisibility

Nice tip about the FOV, I'll try it later

Lense craziness
I noticed micro scratches on the lenses today when the PSVR was turned off. I don't know when those happened and whether those are normal because you don't really notice them when you wear the headset.

I am kind of afraid it happened the past weekend when a friend of mine with glasses tried it out. I don't know, he acted kind of stupid when trying on the PSVR headset. When I told him that he should try to move the headset to find the sweet spot he didn't move the whole thing but tried to fold the visor part, which kind of hurt watching.

Do the lenses really scratch that quickly? The worst thing is, my friend apparently barely needs his glasses and preferred using the headset without them later on.
Another culprit could be the lens pen but I would be surprised if that scratched the lens. The scratches are plenty and seem to be in a circular motion though which would fit the lens pen more than the glasses.
Or are these just small smudges I can't clean off?

I googled it, apparently I am not the only one who got scratches from the lens pen. So everyone here should beware of using them. I bought one from Rollei which is a rather known camera brand over here.

Haven't touched my PSVR since the holidays.

I sure do hope there's going to be more announcements coming. Apart from RE7 which I don't care about, it seems pretty dry now.

So I'm seriously considering this now that Resident Evil 7 is out, and I'm looking at what my options are and wondering whether I should get the headset + camera only, or go for a headset + camera + move controllers bundle. I know the move controllers are optional so I wanted to ask you guys if you feel they improve the immersion or can be skipped. I'm not interested in minigames/demos and I've had enough of waggle so I don't really think I'll be using the controllers that much outside of any full-fledged VR game that makes good use of them. What are your thoughts?

You should probably not bother with PSVR altogether if you come into it with the mindset that short experiences are inherently a bad thing, and that motion controllers are just "waggle". You'll just end up with buyer's remorse.

So when I played RE7 in VR yesterday it was VERY dark, like so dark I couldn't see anything that wasn't directly lit. After getting to the second tape recorder I booted it up normally and everything was much much clearer. Anyone else have this issue?

No, but I restart my PS4 Pro whenever I play VR so I don't run into any of these issues on any games.

Oh geez is this a normal issue? I normally just put the PS4 into rest mode when I switch.

I very rarely use Rest mode, and with all the horror stories I've heard, I never use it when playing VR. Haven't had any real tracking or VR issues while playing (besides the occasional wobble).

The power down and restart is more important for getting rid of drift issues. If you use PS VR a lot, but also use rest mode instead of shutting the console off, this can eventually cause the headset, move controllers or both to stop tracking properly.

We found out fairly quickly after launch that for whatever reason, doing a cold start up seems to clear out whatever "movement cache" is causing these issues to build up over time with rest mode.

I bought a lens pen after all the raving people had been doing about them in this thread. I only used it once and even then it just didn't sit well with me while using it, it's just too much of a risk that some dirt could get on the cleaning tip and because it's black you can't see it.

I now use a good quality lens cleaning cloth, the one that comes with the psvr is shit, you want a cloth that actually absorbs the oils. Mine is light grey so I can easily check it's spotless of any potentially damaging dirt/dust before making contact with the lens.

One of the best available games, Arkham VR uses the move controllers. They're also used in Rush of Blood and the VR worlds London Heist game, and a few others.

As 1-1 pointing devices, I think they add quite a bit to the experience.

I also can't see the use for them outside of PSVR.

It's only now slowly coming back in stock since being sold out since launch so sales have been excellent (100% sold!). Who's saying it's bad?

Here in the UK it came back into stock late last week at retailer Argos. They've virtually all gone again.

GAME had fresh stocks too, but are already showing low or zero stock in a number of stores.

It's not bait hell I even have one and had one since launch. I'm talking about the news that analysts have downgraded their expectations.

That "analyst" was SuperData and their projections were idiotic. Like a couple factors higher than Sony was even going to make at the time.

PSVR has been sold out every month since it launched, though.
