I'll probably start by purchasing the inventory upgrades. After that, once I start getting drops I can make money off of, I'll consider the premium. It seems like it will be super helpful when leveling subclasses.

You can but 1 day my shop passes which are cheaper (or get them from FUN scratches, low drop rate), but honestly I feel that premium is worth it.

I also strongly recommend getting daily login onuses in PSO2es - the app can also be used to feed your mag and pets, so you can level them faster.
You can even check the status of your myshop items and collect money for stuff that was sold.

Only playing PS4 version so it's all Japanese for me

Name is Pink Terror and I'm on Ship 7.

How do I continue the story quest? A quest point reticle keeps pointing at this white haired dude (I think it's Afin) and it brings up a menu that seems to have something to do with quests and no matter what I do, nothing happens.

I'm stuck at this level 7 area and I have no idea how to continue.

I believe Sega removed the 10*5 item pack bundle when EP4 launched, I've only seen it once as a value bundle since. I only use it for the log in stuff and to buy AC so I have no clue. :\

You can still play the game. I personally find it rather boring, but I used to play it quite a bit on the train, since the xp gained in it is sent to the regular PSO2 (and vice versa). Like mentioned above, if you switch to the iOS version, you won't be able to buy AC through the app.
Another thing is that while you can dl the app from the Japanese app store, unless something changed, you'll have to switch to that store every time you want to patch the app (might be wrong on this one).

You're about to reach what I believe is the slowest part of the leveling grind, the early 50s.
There's the new Limited Quest that released today, at the very least it should have people playing it all the time except during Emergency Quests.

Never did Limited Quests nor Advanced Quests for leveling but I think the preferred method are Advanced Quest exit bursts- you basically trigger a PSE burst at any dead end to manipulate spawns there. Run EQs when possible, SH is unlocked at 50 but gives a xp penalty until 55. That and running your featured quests for bonus keys. If you have Photon spheres you can trade those at the Photon exchange shop for +75% exp boosts if you need any.

Level doesn't matter unless the collection file specifies a minimum level the enemy has to be above.

I'm pretty sure you don't get bigger gains for defeating higher level enemies. However Collection file is affected by RDR so boosting your drop rate will increase the gains from kills.

I can confirm it, that enemy level doesn't affect it (got the same % for a Train item on SH and XH).
And yeah, RDR boosters affect it.

I knew about RDR, so I assumed that since drop rates are different in various level brackets, they might have set it so farming stronger enemies is faster.

In other news, I'm surprised how easy it is to get the new badge weapons. Seriously, after 2 hours? of running the new limited time quest I already have 34 of those and the weapons only require 200.

Depending on how often you can catch the Mother EQ, the Mother collection files 13* weapons are easier to get than the badge ones, and stronger too.

I decided to catch the Mother EQ yesterday (I goofed on the previous one - thought I only need lv 70), since the last time I did the lv 80 version of it it took maybe 10 minutes total.

NOT THIS TIME.

50 minutes. I don't know how people were still able to revive others near the end, I was out of Moons halfway through the quest.
It was really crazy, maybe the reason was 10/12 players, maybe the lack of Weak Shot, but I think I saw the early hand phase 10+ times.

I'm kind of afraid of doing this again.

Ah, didn't know that the element will be added during the normal grinding. I need 1 sphinx kill for my first sword and since I'm playing during JST, doing 1 Mother run per day/a few over the weekend doesn't seem hard.

To be honest so far Sphinx has been the biggest hurdle in me getting the sword quickly after taking care of the Mother step - getting to it in the Raiding Quest, even with others seems to be far from guaranteed and he's also a random pop in the free field Vegas quest.

I've already posted this in the thread before but just in case you missed it, depending on the collection file you're doing, these enemies also count for the Illusia drop so you don't have to go through a whole riding quest for one kill or hope it shows up in the free field.

I just realized that I forgot to say that the boost is a +30% bonus to great success chance. It's still worth the chance to save some grind materials even if you don't have any additional great success boosters.

I'm glad that the limited time quest will have a +100% boost to exp until next week, that should make grinding the rest of those stupid Hunter Excubes much easier.

Should be able to clear 1 Mother Eq per day when they're on at evening JST, so unless I slack off with the rest of the enemies, I think getting that +35 Mother sword before level cap 80 hits shouldn't be a problem.

I have another question about CF:
Let's say I have 90% progress on the drop from the Mother boss and that's the last item I need for the CF 13* weapon.
With the current 100% drop boost + 20k premium drink drop boost + 250% drop boost + 100% triboost, the drop rate is over 9000k, and I only need 10-11% progress.

Will I still only get to 100% on the next run and have the item drop on the run after that?

If you're at 100% or close to it on all the items you need could pause your Rare drop boosts until you start a new CF so you aren't wasting them. To do that whenever you go on a quest you just go to the drink machine, tick the box at the top of the window then pick any drink then all your boosts are paused and their timers won't go down. The pause only lasts for one quest though so you need to remember to do this every time you go on a quest.

I was hunting Zesh for the 12* sword required for the Mother sword, but killing it didn't fill the gauge. I guess I can only aim for the item to drop.

Hmm, I guess it's different depending on the node. Some nodes just need the alternate enemies and others need the drop.

I tried to install it trough the Fan-made Launcher but it didnt work. Only got a black screen after the initial splash screen.

Is it better to just use the japanese installation mentioned in the OP and then use the english patch?

i live in germany, do i need to work with some kind of VPN?

Only Southeast Asia countries need VPN to access the game nowadays.
If you haven't uninstalled it, try to run the official launcher, let it do a full filecheck, and then close it and run the fan made launcher (tweaker) again, reinstall the patches and try the game again.

i deinstalled it. So there is some english installer via torrent on arks layer, should i go fresh with this? it says it goes much faster than the offical installer.

It's probably more up to date than the official installer I guess.
If you do go through with the Arks Layer installer, after it's done installing, I still recommend to run the official launcher and do a full filecheck before using the tweaker.

Has anyone tried to new solo Profound Darkness Emergency Quest?
I gave it a few attempts last night but couldn't even get past Double. I'm good enough at blocking most of its attacks but at a certain point the cars just become too hard to dodge and getting combo'd by them kills me at full health. Also if the time limit for the Double phase is the timer for the whole fight I don't see how I'll ever finish it, because even with a maxed out Mother sword it still took me ten minutes to break all of Double's legs.

As HU/FI using Mother's sword, the furthest I've reached was the Persona part with like 2 mins remaining, died there. <-<;
Timer is indeed for the whole fight, Double took me around 7:20.

When it comes to the cars, I've been using the PA Guilty Break to run from them, though people mention that the cars take time to turn, so could try to take advantage of that too.

Took me forever to get registered with the Sega site and their server (kept telling me i was in the wrong region) Just kept refreshing and it eventually worked. The chrome extension helped immensely with the captcha hiragana.

Game is downloading right now. Downloading the character creator and game gets like 200+ fps on my system so im happy with that.

Man, I miss phantasy star. Haven't played since PSU on x360. I LOVED that game. If I enjoy this I'm gonna look into getting Nova on Vita too.
