Some videos of Dark Souls III? Sorry I can't read all those pages...

uploading one right now. It's just running from the Dragon barracks till Dragonslayer armour room, because there's weird framedrops there.

No difference though.

Can test other stuff if you want.

Yep, locked at 30fps. Never had issues and will never get a Pro patch.

RE: Driveclub

Nope.

Somehow the last patch which introduced all the tracks from the VR mode has introduced screen tearing and frame drops. Very annoying.

Load up the first Scotland track (can't remember which now but its the first one along) and theres definitely drops ad tearing around some of those corners.

I've put it down to badly optimised tracks. They likely just turned up the detail from the VR mode and just shat it out without testing. Wondering if Boost mode brute force cleans this up since i highly doubt this game will ever get more patches.

Kind of salty I didn't get selected now. I was just frustrated dipping through traffic in GTAV on the Pro last night, and I awaken to this.

Thank you, Mr. Cerny.

That's actually a really good justification for buying this thing over the stock PS4, pretty cool! I sold my PS4 ages ago but I might eventually get a Pro. Exciting times with this and other gaming hardware stuff going on.

Possibly for load times where the actual loading is held up by decompressing data, that data would be decompressed more quickly
Those things would be affected only of the game rendering was fully based on some advanced scheduler that distributed work by looking at how much resources it can access. But I don't think that anyone bothers with things like that.

Loading means not only moving data from hdd to ram and vram, but also processing a large amount of data and preparing to rendering gameworld. Pro CPU, GPU and RAM speeds are higher than on base PS4, so all that processing is faster. It will not be tremendous boost, but it can be noticeable.
Processing data is faster. It's not just a copy job.

Makes sense! Sweet

Someone has already said SOMA crashes with Boost mode on.

My guess is they wanted to do a beta test but couldn't exactly announce or release a $400 premium console and have only beta testers use an announced feature. So they had to wait for a beta to see how big of a deal it is, how broken it is. Under promise over deliver. And I'm sure there might be a few games with some manner of fuckery.

Please refer to my next post where I then go on to say that giving players the option to run the pro at full speed when playing non patched games should have been there from the start because for the vast majority of games it will and never was going to be much of a issue.

But it is here now and I am glad that Pro users are now getting more value out of their purchase.

Finally the Pro gets some of the upgrades most assumed would be inherent to buying more powerful hardware.

Now to allow 1080p owners to actually get downsampling as well.

Maybe this is Sony's way to light a match under the ass of developers who still haven't updated their games for the Pro.

Once game devs start seeing posts on social media about their games being broken with the Boost mode enabled, they will say "FiNE! I'll update my old ass game for the Pro then! Jeez". Smart, Sony.

Anyway, this boost mode is awesome. Best Ps4 update so far.
