Finally managed to get an event costume after ten or so boxes (Tracer, which is fine). About halfway to having the gold for D.Va if I can't get her earlier but I'm not sure if I'll make it.

Question:
We know they're planning on redoing events each year to let people earn stuff again, but since this is specifically 'Rooster' themed (at least with the icon and a few other things) do you think some items may be retired, placed into a 'odds and ends' event, or simply put into the next lunar new year event and keep their old icon when won?

I see the occasional mention of competitive, but even that is only either to complain about teammates or to point out ranks.

Event skins are limited so people want them while they're available. If you want gameplay chat, check the OT instead.

Got the Ana skin though so I'm all set. Also Monkey Winston and purple/white Mei but I never play them.

Five boxes earned today, two through leveling, three through arcade mode since I completely didn't realize you get a box per three wins in arcade. The only Legendary I got was

Mostly sprays and icons. The other only thing that I got of worth was Tracer's lunar highlight. Not one of the skins. :/

EDIT: I decided to level up one more time and finally got something! Rein's Lunar skin. This is after getting his older Balderich skin in one of my first boxes during the event.

Steal the flag 3 times, die with it 3 times for lack of ANY cover on the way back. Chicken ass teams 100% okay with draws getting on my nerves.

Oh and they werent bombarding our flag because I killed 3 myself to get theirs.

Yeah I've gotten white Mei 3 times. Would have at least liked to get red instead of one of the dupes. Really nice skin though.

In the past couple of games I've gotten 2 Soldier Legendaries, a Junkrat Legendary and a Reinhardt legendary unrelated to this event. Fuck Blizzard's RNG.

Edit: Got red Mei. D.va's would be nice but no biggie. I think her suit is better and B.va is best.

I've actually been playing a lot of CTF this week. Despite the technical problems, there's something about that mode that makes it feel more relaxing than the other modes. Winning in QP or comp is still more satisfying/rewarding, but CTF is pretty chill. I think it's because you can fall back from a push to your "safe zone" without sacrificing critical time with a cap or payload.

In addition to this, I've gotten Rein, Bast, and Junk's LNY skin, along with the Highlights for Tracer and Mercy.

God damn, did I give it alot of time for it, but finally got it through leveling.

I also have enough credits to buy Sym and perhap's Tracer's LNY skins by the end of the event.

Well that's this weeks arcade done and I have opened something like 30 boxes, have only gotten one yellow/gold, a Winston one I don't even want. :|

Out of the abt 32 lootboxes I've opened, I've gotten Winston's, Reinhardt's, Zenyatta's, Symmetra's, Tracer's and Ana's Lunar New Year skins and Mei's white CNY Chang'e skin.

Event Emotes/Victory poses/Highlight intros include D.Va's bow, D'Va's + Sombra's + Roadhog's victory poses and Mercy's Fortune highlight intro.

The one and only thing I wanted, I didn't get. But I /finallly/ managed to collect enough gold to purchase the D.Va skin on my own.

Gonna get a box today and the next two days and if that doesn't have D.va's LNY skin, too bad. Not gonna spend money for the chance when I'd prefer B.va anyway and there are 6 other non-event legendary skins I'd rather have. The hanbok is adorable and it'd be cool to have for chuseok, but IMO doesn't suit her style for all the time.

Looks like I ended up with five skins:
Mercy, Reinhardt, Zenyatta, Symmetra and D.Va.
Would have liked Winston's, but I'm satisfied with my loot. Helped that I was at a pretty low level to begin with, and didn't have to rely solely on Arcade wins.

This has been the worst event. Cleared a ton of arcade modes, leveled up a bunch. Still ZERO skin boxes. Got duplicate regular ass legendaries.

Anyone knows the drop rates? I can swear that it was easier to get the legendaries skins on the Christmas event. Opened like 15 loot boxes since the event and just got 1 legendary skin and on the Christmas event I opened 20 loot boxes and got 4 legendaries skin. It's way too different.

I got D.va's skin in a loot box and thank god. I was 50 gold away from 3000 and once I had enough, I would have just bought it straight away and called it for this event. Saving that 3000 for the next event skin I desperately need.

Ive been wondering this myself. I would guess yes.
The skins may return, but Im thinking they will be variants based off the seasons/years (kinda like the TF2 Gibus hat)

All I've gotten since the event started has been the Mei legendary skin and the Bastion epic skin. Usually at this point in the last 3 events, I've had at least 5+ skins. Not sure if the drop rate was tweaked for this event or if I've just been super unlucky.

For a game so much about the cast of characters it's frustrating that they put so much favouritism on Tracer because she's some dumb mascot for a game that doesn't need one. I have an active dislike of her character design so it's a pester to have her shoved everywhere.

It's cause her other skins are trash.

Junker D.Va is the best.

I should have come out of retirement when the event started, instead of just one week ago. Doesn't look like I'll be able to unlock the new D.Va skin unless I actually buy some extra lootboxes. :\

I think nearly all of D.Va's skins are pretty good (exceptions being Lemon-Lime, Junker, and Scavenger), with B.Va and Palanquin being my current favorites. The former skin is just cute all around, while the latter has an awesome mech.

Tracer's LNY skin is amazing though! Classy Tracer.

It has really good colours. I'd go so far as calling it one of her best.

I like it because I'm not a fan of her usual attire, but really like the character. Also has a lot of colors and just looks fun.

Widowmaker, Genji, and Hanzo have been getting ignored a lot in these events. I would also say Sombra but she's too new. Ana has more new event skins than all three of them.
