Another runaway hit, man Sony has just OWNED 2017 so far. Resi 7, Nioh and now Horizon...it's gonna be a banner year for the PS4. :)

Here's the big thing for me. I knew, or at least figured there was a very good chance, that the gameplay and the graphics were going to be good to great. Guerrilla has always excelled with that stuff. The big surprise for me is how many reviewers are HIGHLY praising the story.

That makes me so happy.

I'm really shocked. I thought that would be the part getting hit the hardest. Makes me really interested in the story. I also didn't know chloe price was voicing the main character.

My only fear now is the performance on the OG PS4. I'd hate for it to be left behind with all these wonderful enhancements the Pro will get the benefit from.

I still can't get over the fact that we're getting this and Zelda the same week. I have no idea what to play first.

finally, the first open-world western RPG with a good battle mechanic.
Yup thats why I am interested because

1. Open world RPG which what seems like good challenging combat

2. Not damn empty like so many open world , more than 5 spawning alive things on screen

Especially the latter, most open world games so empty

I'm glad this game has reviewed well. If I ever get a PS4 I'll be sure to pick it up :)

(Any noticeable improvement for 1080p players on a Pro? Need to figure out what console to budget for...)

Surprised about these scores, had a hunch the game would "flop" and do the all too common mistake that is highlighted in the usgamer review:
... But with Horizon Zero Dawn the problem isn't the quantity, but the quality. If you're the type that loves meticulous crafting and meaningless side missions, you'll find plenty here. If not, then, well.
The game never spoke to me but it seems that those of you that have been waiting for it might be in for a treat.

Believes Dragon Quest is a franchise managed by Sony
i forgot to congratulate GG.

It seems like guerilla are back from their pretty low record with KZ3 and SF

Not as happy, definitely, but at the end of the day I loved Horizon: Zero Dawn when it was a small, contained dinosaur hunting game — and then I loved it more when it revealed it was actually The Witcher: Dinosaur Edition. I can see its faults, I know they exist, but this game feels so much like it was built with me in mind that I'm happy to ignore them. I haven't — I've listed them above — but if a dinosaur game has been something you've dreamed of since you were little, and if the chore-based repetition-focused gameplay of Ark does as little for you as it does for me, you'll be able to ignore Horizon's few faults the way I can.

My current struggle. Then the Switch and BotW a few days later. Not enough time for all of these games!

My backlog is going to be enormous this year, I've already gotta get through Nioh and Deus Ex still and Horizon comes out in a week, and of course I started another ME playthrough before ME:A comes out :/

Then right after that is Persona 5 and Yooka-Laylee.

I'm getting sorta overwhelmed...can't complain too much though, lol

pretty much what i excepted from reading some reviews, not the best game ever but a pretty good one! I will wait a little, Zelda and Nier automata will have the priority, then there's the Dark Souls 3 dlc and then persona 5!

The battle for Q1 just got more interesting in the three-way race between Zelda, Horizon and ME.

Doesn't matter because Persona will destroy all 3.

Oh wow I had my March planned out with Zelda and Mass Effect. It looks like Zelda and the Switch just got pushed aside. Pre-ordered.

62 reviews and it's still holding strong at 88 on MC. Good job GG! (I predicted 89 tho, come on one more point!)

Why are you highlighting the one negative review?

Your pretty much gonna be stuck in video game limbo like me lol. I'm currently playing through Yakuza 0 and Nioh right now. I have RE7, Gravity Rush 2, Digimon, and For Honor on backlog and Berserk on the way >.<
