Are you sure you want to open the discussion about the technical aspects of Zelda in this thread? Think this through.

I would say it's better to enjoy the glowing previews than to move the discussion in that area.

Oh I thought it was just me.

I was thinking aesthetically is looks great. But technically (to warrant a downgrade) it doesnt look like anything special

I'm too busy at work to look at any previews right now, but I saw someone mention framerate issues when the switch is docked? Is this true/how bad is it?
Most of them say the game feels steadily locked at 30 fps. There have been a few dips when the weather elements come into play or there are a large number of enemies on the screen, but nothing that lowers the experience.

Watching the Polygon video now, the game looks like great fun. It feels like so many games in one.

I really like the thought behind the world too, I really like the little artistic touches. eg. in the Venturebeat video you can see the blue light reflection in the water isn't realistic (it's brighter than what it's reflecting), but more of an artistic choice. And I like that - they've gone for art over realism, all the way.

However, whilst I am sure this will be game of the year (and it's so impressive creatively and artistically), I can't help but be disappointed by the graphics from a technical point of view. In all the videos, it does look muddy with lots of aliasing, and the textures are extremely low-res. It does look all a little last-gen from that point of view. But I doubt I'll be worrying about that once I immerse myself in the world.

I'm interested to see how this game is modded over the next few years on CEMU.

All right that's about what I was thinking it might be, thanks

Quote from the video discussion on GameXplain

Jesus Christ. Comparing to Ocarina and Mario Galaxy. My number 1 games of all time.

Deep down I knew Nintendo created something especial when last E3 was only about Zelda, but I wasn't sure how grand it was.

To see that's actually happening is kinda insane

Too long to wait, I want it in Summer Games Done Quick 2017

Given the deadline for submitting a game to be considered for SGDQ 17 is like two weeks after Zelda, I doubt speedrunners will have enough time to really get a feel for how a speedrun would play and how long it would take for SGDQ in time for it to be considered for the schedule

Do bows have durability?

I forgot if they did, so I loaded up the game and my current bow is flashing red, so yeah.

I think the major difference between this and SotFS is that there seems to be no way to actually repair weapons (that we know of).

That is the problem I had.

I've notice most of the previews listed are based off the first 5 hours of gameplay. Is Nintendo limiting previews to the first 5 hours of gameplay you encounter, or is that just a number most reviewers are considering fair for a preview article?

Correct. I've played beyond 5 hours. Record the whole thing so far actually, but this preview was only for 5 hours from the beginning.

It will take all my willpower to not look at anything in this thread other than the OP, which is very nicely constructed!! From the titles of the previews, I am now anticipating that this might be the best game ever made... 1 more week!!

I feel like I'm going to play on the Switch's screen to mitigate some of that stuff

I can't wait for my copy to get here, but why does this game look so unclear? It looks smudged and you can barely see any detail on anything. Is anyone else having this problem? The game isn't crisp at all.

The wait to play this for the next week will be grueling. Even worse is that I have to go to work the day after it comes out :(

I'm so unbelievably hyped about this game.
A 3D take on the original Legend of Zelda with Princess Mononoke inspired visuals, I can't.

Damn.

I'm never going to touch my good weapons, from fear of them breaking. Oh well let's wait and see.

You can invert vertical and horizontal camera, mess with camera sensitivity, turn aiming with motion controls on or off, switch the jump button from X to B, Fix the minimap direction, change the HUD to Pro (no control icons or indicators for sound, temp, and time), and change message window transparency. That's it.

Can you play the game with the the Pro Controller while the Joy Cons are attached? Example. Play game with Joy Cons, battery dies, reattach them to switch and then just start playing with the Pro Controller and switch control option in the menu or something? Thank you

Persona 5 is my absolute GOAT (replacing Okami, and OoT before it), but it looks like this game has potential to turn it upside down again. Containing my pure elation for next week's launch is becoming increasingly difficult.

(And yes, Persona 5 is really that unbelievably fantastic. Can't wait to play it in English!)
