I wonder how the ME scalpers that were selling presales are feeling? Surely some of them had their order cancelled by Amazon.

Yeah I got the same email. I swear, if Amazon fucks with my ability to play Zelda day 1 I will be hella mad.
I honestly think the Wii U version might be a bit hard to find. I feel like Nintendo won't be producing a lot for obvious reasons.

I just got that email too. I hope it doesn't mean what it feels like it means. I was do excited to play this next Friday. At least I will have HZD to play until. C'mon Amazon!

Not even Nintendo is stupid enough to piss off the world's largest publisher just to "get back" at them for some lost units, come on lol. Amazon could delist every Nintendo product ever and it would do nothing to their bottom line.

Amazon came through with my standard version for the wiiu. It's coming fri and I still got a $10 credit for my trouble. Glad I didn't cancel.
If the reason for this was a stolen shipment then the orders were cancelled because they are no longer in Amazon's possession not because Nintendo punished Amazon.
A man can try. My initial complaint was ignored, so I just sent another e-mail to Amazon support. I went from 3 orders to 1 to 0. Not acceptable, I'm going to get something out of this beyond $10 Amazon credit.

So was it ever explained why this happened (though I'm sure most of us know why) & how they chose whose orders to cancel?
I was able to snag the Special Edition on Walmart after Dell canceled the order, but it's still kind of annoying this had to happen in the first place, even if I got $20 out of it.

Probably should've worded that better & said we "can assume why" on account that there's a good chance Nintendo wouldn't fulfill all the orders Amazon had, so Amazon had to cancel orders until it met the number of MEs that Nintendo sent them.

Special edition Amazon order has "We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate." on my order still. Customer service not forthcoming. Kind of annoying I might end up with the system and nothing to play on it if they don't get their act together.

So just a heads up to everyone so that they can check their order: if Amazon is not able to charge your card, the order will simply be canceled without notice.
My friend pre-ordered both the Switch and Master Edition through Amazon. They canceled his order because the card was declined.
Amazon will almost always send people an email asking them to update their card information in case there was some sort of mistake and give 2-3 days to do that before cancelling pre-orders. That didn't happen here. They simply canceled his Switch and Master Edition without a single email to say something was wrong.

For those who get the Special &/or Limited, can you compare the game box to the regular edition? Walmart seems to be fulfilling my order on the Special Edition (still in "processing"), but I wasn't able to cancel the order for just the game from Best Buy, but I might open BB's copy & play that, then mail the copy of the game included in the Special Edition, but I want to ensure the game boxes are the same.
The game box doesn't have a pegi rating

Wow that all looks incredibly cheap and the packaging is also very shoddy.
Very disappointing.
I would like to know this too. Planning on picking up a copy at Gamestop's midnight launch, then returning the one I get in the mail with my Special Edition.
Edit: Found a video. The Special Edition game case box art lacks an ESRB logo, has backside artwork instead of game info, and says NOT FOR RESALE.
Ah well, guess I gotta stick with Bomberman at midnight...

I can at least take a small breath of relief with it.
but since they are shipping out now, people should be on the look out, likely in the next 48 hours these will come back in stock for a few minutes on amazon for the cancelled orders (the current wave that will fail due to credit cards and last minute cancels and what not)
The statue kind of killed the hype I had for it
