Dragon Quest Heroes II Is Downgraded On Nintendo Switch Compared To PS4 Version

The video released yesterday or the day before of some people on a TV show playing the game, that video showed pretty good framerates.

I'm pretty sure the demo was made a long time ago and was used at the Nintendo event earlier this year. The final version that we saw yesterday had a better framerate, I think. I guess the demo is just to give people an idea of what they're getting into.

That's bad.
But not as bad as Hyrule Warriors Legends.

Wha? Do you mean on a regular 3DS? Because on a N3DS with the 3D turned off it's actually more stable than the Wii U version, it looks blurry as hell but it's a bit smoother.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Has anyone made a 3 way comparison between PS4/Switch/PS3.

It's not gonna match the PS4 version, but would be interesting to see how it improves upon the PS3 (if at all).

Japan really loves Dragon Quest. But if the game is sell in the West, the demo need to be better.

Well, to be fair, the demo is ONLY for Japan. People are just downloading it from there, but it's not really meant for other regions since the game hasn't even really been revealed here. So they have lots of time to work on marketing it for other territories.

That has to be it. What was streamed yesterday looked good.

3DS port instead PS4 port :D

I say that because the two versions looks complete different from each other.

I really expect Switch to use the 3DS's engine instead PS4's engine.
That future thread will be glorious. Also I am not excited for the next 5 years of switch/ps4 conparisons.

God help us if ps5 and X2 come out during switch's lifetime

Lol.
I really can't tell sometimes if people are seriously thinking stuff or just trolling.

That's even worse... Why put up a demo that is much worse than the final version.

Well I'll try it tomorrow.

It does happen from time to time, and it's all based on how much time was available to the developers to get a demo from a more recent build. Given the timing of this game's announcement and how quickly it released, using the presentation build was probably the only option available. It might be presumptive to say that they may have been better off not releasing the demo to the public like this, but that hinges on the full release being representative of the footage they showed off recently, where the framerate looked a lot higher and more consistent.

Should be a step above the 3DS version.

But of course it will not look like the PS4 version, the power gap is just too big.
Impossible, it'll be one step below the 3ds, because there's one less screen.

I can't wait to see the reactions when DQ XI Switch is revealed.
Though we never know what troll Square Enix might throw at us.

Hmm, that's actually not as bad as I was expecting. I guess I'll have to see how the game feels compared to PS4 when I can try it out for myself but I'm willing to take a performance hit for portability.

I wouldn't judge it off the demo, even though that sounds silly to say. Watch the stream I linked a few posts up, the build seems really solid there.

you mean switch is less powerful than a PS4?!?!?

Yeah I saw that link earlier too and thought that looked good. I think I'll bite either way. I'm not a huge stickler about performance especially when it's vs portability (I played Hyrule Warriors Legends on my N3DS for like a bazillion hours)

Also Ragnar being in the version helps lol

Jesus... "A step above the 3DS," but compared with the PS4, "the power gap is just too big"? I look forward to another terrible post when the game is revealed to be based on the PS4 version.

I guess I'm not sure about people's definition of bad. I didn't see any problem with that stream. Doesn't matter to me, I'm still picking it up. Doesn't seem worse than Hyrule Warriors on the Wii U.

It's far worse that Hyrule warriors on wii U.

It dips under 15 frequently, and it's not a looker. From what I can see, it runs better on ps3.
People shouldn't support this kind of release, especially for 90 fucking bucks.

edit: Granted, it might be a earlier build.
