Yakuza 0 |OT| Yes, you can start with this one!

Hell yeah, finished all dance games with 3 stars. Wasn't easy, but interestingly, I found the normal difficulty harder than the hard difficulty. Is there another mini game as mechanically challenging as this or more challenging? I'm aiming for 100% and I wonder if it gets easier from here (in terms of mechanical skills required, I'm okay with grinding that yields results eventually).

Y0 is my first Yakuza and it's fucking A class.

I was finding the same, though I think that's a thing with rhythm games in general and how you process things. Believe that's cos the higher up the difficulty you go in a rhythm game, the more the prompts on-screen match what's happening in the song, where as easier difficulties leave a lot of gaps/negative space, which are often harder to follow than sections with busy notes (to a point!). Like when I play the Miku games and stuff like that, I learn the songs on 'Hard' first as 'Normal' feels really unnatural and stunted.

I find the batting minigame a LOT more challenging (if you ignore the gambling stuff I've not bothered to learn).

Finished. This is me right now:

raw

I just finished Chapter 14 and I can barely stand it :'(

"Yakuza Fatigue? What Yakuza Fatigue?"

There's no such thing like Yakuza fatigue :p

There's no such thing like Yakuza fatigue :p

I played the first 4 Yakuza games in the span of two months. And was halfway through the fifth one when I encountered a progress-halting glitch.

Months later, it got solved by a new System Software update for the PS3 and I was able to finish it, a few days before Yakuza 0.

Then I blew close to a hundred hours in that game.

I'm ITCHING for a new Yakuza game. Yakuza Fatigue is a straight up foreign concept to me.

The only reason I have an ounce of Yakuza fatigue is purely from completion but if they just magically patched in more story and or sidequests into any yakuza game as is I'd prolly still be down for another 100 hours.

That said, I wish all the possible CP Achievements just kind of showed up in the top right when you enter an entertainment building. If I walked into an arcade for a side quest and saw I still needed outrun or more UFO prizes, I would've got a lot more done during the story instead of backloaded into the end of the game.

This here. Yakuza fatigue might not exist but yakyuu and mahjong fatigue certainly do.

Where do you even get the Charismatic Photo? I never found it in this Yakuza game.

Sotenbori 10000yen dream machines. I got 1 each for Kiryu and Majima. It will take a while.

Now, charismatic autobiographies. I heard they can be gotten in the sotenbori 100k machines but no luck for me just yet.

I finished Ch. 14. I ended that fight with
Kuze with that the heat action where I blocked him from hitting Nishiki and then we punched him together. I don't know if that was scripted, but it was a damn fine way to end it. And then the emotional gut punch.

Not scripted! You can pull off that move
whenever you're with Nishiki.
It's pretty damned sweet!

Where do I go to craft weapons? I just fought in the Styx, is it available to me yet?

Never mind, got it!

This game is so dense with activities I'm sure I'm missing a lot...looking forward to newgame+.

I'm about 130 hours in and I have yet to find Kiryu's
Beast mode
trainer.... did I miss something at some point? Sorry if this was asked at some point.

Just made it to chapter 7. I wanted to stick around with Kiryu more because of the real estate stuff being so fun. Hope 7/8 are short because I just want to go back to Kiryu. Much more interested in his story than whatever is going on with
that blind girl

So, since the ps3 Yakuza games are at -65% I'm going to pick up Y5 (already have 4 from ps+). Is dead souls worth it though? It's 7€ atm which isn't a lot, but if the game sucks I think I'll skip it.

Yeah I'd seen it before, but wasn't sure if that ending I had was scripted as it was so perfect.

In ch. 14 I walked around
with Nishiki before going to get Makoto, thinking I could pop in to some places and get some bro moments, but where I went didn't seem to change. The game wouldn't even let me into Bar Serena. :/

Game's shooting is awkward but everything else (the minigames, the dialogue, the story cutscenes) are pure Yakuza. If you want more of that then it should be no brainer (pun not intended)

Yeah, just watched some videos on it and it looks pretty fun. Guess I'll pick it up, can't really go wrong for that price. Also, Majima is playable and he was my favorite character in Y0 :p. Don't know when I'll get around to actually play these games though. I'm waiting for Kiwami first so that one doesn't get spoiled for me in the later entries.

Finally got my hands on this game. Gonna do a story only play through then do substories and minigames on legend. Anyone know if you can change difficulty on legend's premium adventure. Don't wanna deal with amon's bullshit on highest diff.

I don't know the answer to this question, but if you're going for platinum, do amon after doing the Crafting trophy, items in the game will make the battle hundreds of percent easier, from not being able to be dazed to bypass bullshit garbage, to doing multiple times damage, to straight stunlock cheesing with with a firearm like someone I know did, I WILL NEVER FORGET WHAT YOU DID. If you do even more completion before hand Majima can get infinite heat with a CP reward.

Guys did you ever find out where to get the Charismatic Autobiography outside of failing that Yankee mission? I want to be stun locked and beaten :(

I got one from a vending machine. I got a charismatic photo from that quest instead, apparently by deliberately choosing the worst answers lol.

I don't think so, I think it locks the difficulty select option for Legendary. Not 100% sure it that's the case though, hopefully someone playing Legendary can confirm.

Just tested it, I don't think you can change difficulty in Premium Adv, at least not on legendary, wasn't in the settings.

exactly!

i love super hang on but it don't love me

I'm pretty bad at Super Hang On too. Last time I was in Akihabara, I found Super Hang On in one of the game centers. I put in 100 yen and couldn't even figure out how to start my bike. It was shameful.

Fantasy Zone ate my cake and didn't apologize. It took everything in me to get the completion requirement for the classic.

I love this game. The music and art is so cheerful but the game is unforgiving and provides a lot of replay value. When I played it in Yakuza, I got the score required for CP on my second try but I've played this game tons of times. Outside of collections and things like Yakuza, I own Fantasy Zone on four systems: Genesis, X68000, Saturn and 3DS. I've never been able to beat it but it's still one of my favorite shmups (not that I can beat any shmup).

Also, at one time, Opa-Opa (the ship) was Sega's mascot.

All of those games are classics and Fantasy Zone is the best.

Be it games or literature classics seem to have a talent for giving me headaches :-x.
I've stopped Fantasy Zone for now after managing to do only a 100k points and went on to all the luck based stuff and now only having cee loo left.

Really missing the cheat items honestly some of these games are pure bullshit. Gotta say though I'm glad Pachinko and Slots are out.

Only missing 9 minigame goals for the 100% completion now. I think batting will be a pain until I get used to it again but honestly I feel confident in learning it again. From what I've seen Y0 batting goal doesn't seem nearly as hard as doing the gravure model batting thing.

Like mentioned Fantasy Zone seems like a major paint too but to be fair I only tried 5-6 times I might need to read up on some strategies for it.

After that I believe I only need to start learning mahjong.

Just had the game freeze at the booth where you save.
As soon as I clicked save it locked and I lost like 2 hours of progress.
Hello darkness my old friend.

Finally, after 10 Thousand Years I'm free, I escaped from Infinite Mahjong hell and achieved Platinum!

After playing all the localized Yakuza games
sans Dead Souls
😜, Yakuza 0 came out being probably the best possible experience for me in both gameplay (I love the style systems even if they were only specifically utilized in the final boss fight) and concept wise keeping content direct to 2 characters we care about instead of splitting everything to 5 characters and areas of bloat. It never super jumped the bridge I'm looking are you Y5, and the completion was just tasty enough and not full of bullshit to bite. So I did.

We did business. We did battle. We laughed, we cried, we did may be more.
Very slight trophy name/activity spoilers:
We dominated porn actress pokemon. [Album]
Cabaret Club Roster Spoilers: We escaped infinite mahjong hell with a fuck you.
I still can't believe that it's been 10 years and Yakuza continues going/being gold. Stay gold Yakuza. Stay gold.
Final, slight non-story/substory MONEY MONEY MONEY REWARD spoiler:
Edit: Oh my god it doesn't resize like in the preview. Sorry.
Edit2: Oh it was the greasyfork app shrug.

Well done on the plat, xezuru!

Cabaret business mini-game > Property business mini-game (For no other reason than the fact property business mini-game demands I play OutRun, a game which I have *always* sucked at.)

Finally I'm back playing Y0 after getting side-tracked by Tales of Berseria, Horizon and Zelda! Dropped it around the part where you go back to Kiryu after playing as Majima for the first time, hope I can get back up to speed easily.

Or I will be back, as soon as I finish downloading this 1.05 patch. Have these patches added anything of note, or are they just mainly bug fixes?

Talk to the clown guy next to the shrines and he'll tons of items for you. These patches added extra costumes, items, weapons etc. Could either make the game easier for you, if you wish, or spice up the premium adventure mode

1.05 was a bug fix patch, the other patches added free costumes for Kiryu and Majima to switch to in the premium adventure mode once you finish the game as well as some free items/materials you can get from Bob the Clown next to the shrine.

I'm now in chapter 14 at the part where
the assassin shoots you and takes away your boss.
how many hours until I finish the game?

Guys I can understand that at a first glance a game like Mahjong can be confusing
because, riichi mahjong especially has some complicated rules.
It a very fun game though.I mean I still play online occasionally on my iphone and some years ago I even bought a full set of tiles from ebay to play with my friends xD.

Honestly, seeing so many people having a hard time with the game I may try and start writing a simple guide to help you guys easily understand the rules and the hands.
If you can can understand the things that will be mentioned in the guide then believe me, every game will be like second nature to you xD.

Thanks, looks like I got a bunch of cool stuff from Bob!

Feels good to be back. I think I'll probably focus on Yakuza 0 for now, might even be able to finish it before Nier Automata (PC) is out.
