Where is Rocksteady

Is currently staging a hunger strike outside Gearbox HQ while trying to hate them to death
CONGRATULATIONS

YOU'VE IDENTIFIED THE WORST POSSIBLE FUTURE

Considering some of the various IP's/Characters that WB own, and how they nailed Batman, I can't say I agree with you.

I really don't get the mindset that an original game is always better than licensed one.

Supes is an incredibly LAME character to play in video games imo.
Hopefully Rocksteady don't get anywhere near that.

I kind of hope they get out of the super hero genre, and maybe even out of the licensed game genre period. To me the best part about the Arkham games, aside from the combat, is their story telling techniques. I'd love to see what they could do with that without being hamstrung by existing IP.

No he isn't. Put it on a just cause 2 sized Metropolis + space missions. Done.

They should do a TMNT game, other than some 16-bit ones, there hasn't been a good game yet for the franchise.

Activision needs to let it go.

Would love for them to go for Justice League next with Batman as the central character.

Their own original story of course.

Whatever they work on I am sure it will be amazing.

My guess is that they are making a Superman game. They have already proven that a Batman game can work, now they are going to prove that they can also make a great Superman game.

I'd be open to a TMNT game, but at the same time I would rather have Platinum have another shot at it with a better team. The talent is there to make an amazing TMNT game. Just needs the right team, budget and enough development time.

Where are a lot of game series and studios. I thought last gen was supposed to be the one with machines that were a bitch to develop for. Closing in on the end of this generation.

1 new Naughty Dog game.

0 Rocksteady games

0 Rockstar games. We are about to go an entire generation without a new GTA.

1 Crytek game. That was several years ago.

Lots more. Not sure whats going on but we are going to be lucky to get even 1 game this gen from most of these studios.

I know you are both taking the piss but I'd fucking love another Rocksteady Urban Chaos game, I loved that game to bits on xbox.

Whatever they're doing I'm day one for though.

it would be infinitely more exciting than a Batman game, that's for sure

After Arkham Knight's gameplay misfires and the horrendous PC launch I hope they take their time with their next game.

The gameplay was fine, some people didn't like the batmobile, but I don't think not adding new content takes much dev time. And some people (Me) thought it was really fun. The rest of the gameplay was pure Arkham goodness. And the PC port was just that, a port, that they had nothing to do with. Take issue with their publisher for that.

I was watching John Wick 2 a couple of days ago and realised that, when done well, the John Wick franchise could make for an amazing video game. Rocksteady would be the ideal developer.

Let them take time... While I thought Arkham Knight was good -- it very much felt like a last hurrah from a burnt out Batman-making-machine. They ALSO made that dang Batman VR thing? So let them take some time to relax and start fresh on something NOT-Batman. I'll be ready as hell when they are. Hit me with something big in a few more years please.

Opinions and all, but my brother is a huge Batman fan, he played Asylum, City and Origins to completion multiple times and he gave up on Arkham Knight halfway through. I feel the same way. As for the port, I take issue with both.

I think you meant to post "Where is Sucker Punch?"

Way more interested in what they have up next actually. My appreciation of Rocksteady was murdered by Knight. Man, I hate so many things about that game, even though the first two are goddamn brilliant.

Several things wrong with this...

1: Rocksteady released two games this gen.
2: There are still several years left of the gen.
3: Crytek released three games last year.

Yep. So much for "easy to develop for" machines. We're getting less games from traditional studios and that's really dissapointing. I think the PS4 might end up with a lbirary equivalent to that of the original xbox, not even near to PS2 or PS3 levels.

They are easy to develop on.

Games (specifically, the big AAA type) have just gotten much bigger and much more costly. The consoles being easier for them doesn't cancel out those significant increases.

It was an extremely frustrating game, like, really frustrating, the batmobile (Remember the ARkham knight "bossifight?" was not responsive enough, and there was absolutely too much of it.

The worst offense in the game was that it wore Batman on its sleeve and not much more.

Most side missions were some Ubisoft shift of destroying towers and beating military guys 50 times. The villains were underused and the worst part, they got SCARECROW as their main villain and had a total of ZERO mindfuck moments on the whole game. it might had as well just used Black Mask or whatever. Batman felt more like a soldier with a cape, and was an unsufferable asshole all the way through.

Yeah, despite being another Arkham game on the surface, I didn't enjoy it that much. The story and ending were complete and utter trash. That twist? Really? Jesus, guys. Who could have possibly guessed who the Arkham Knight was?

It felt like they overtuned the combat. Before, you could use your own specific style and strategy to fights. In Knight, it felt like each guy could only be taken out by a single move. Combat was just trying to remember that specific move and land it on the right side because, if the game pointed you at someone else, the move wouldn't work and you'd take damage. The stealth was good, but the fucked up the combat almost as much as Origins.

Oh yeah, fuck the Batmobile. Fuck it forever.

I want them to make a game of whoever DCs equivalent of Wolverine is.

I mean I figure they have one, since they usually do. So... Please? Arkham-y brawling with tons of blood is all I need.

I wonder how much their next game differs from the arkham series in terms of gamedesign. As of now I'd expect a reskinned Batman game with another form of Batmobile attached to the overall design.

Maybe that's unfair but that's what I think at the moment.

I thought they were making the Batman game with Damien Wayne (ugh, Damien... why him?), but that's from the creators of Arkham: Origins, so who knows?

Despite the problems with Arkham Knight, it was still an incredible solid game. True, way too much Batmobile, but I thought it played very well. Gameplay was as good as ever, and I don't think anyone does the "Arkham fighting-mechanics" as well as they do.

Putting them on another Batman game would be silly, but I would not be opposed to see them do another game based on a different DC-character. Maybe the Flash or Superman? For something really out there, I think making a Green Lantern game would just be perfect. Creating your own constructs, going to space, fight with other lanterns.
