Unless you aim to be a politician, why sacrifice your YT career for no good reason? I don't get it. Nothing good was ever come out of this. His statements were straight up Stormfront material; how doesn't he see that?
Also I honestly need someone to explain to me how his "alt right" views differ from classic racism and white supremacy. His statements could have come out of the mouth of any random Neo-Nazi off the street in the 90s.

It's good that Destiny called JonTron out on the fantastical claims that he was making, but he makes his fair share of remarks regarding other groups of people that are in poor taste.
Peppered throughout the "debate" (in quotes because JonTron clearly has no idea what he's talking about) he used the terms autistic and retarded in place of words like dumb or idiotic.
Destiny's got a great socio-political stance, I just don't like trading one form of hate speech for another.
Gaf really needs some kind of wall of shame. I can't keep up with all those racists and idiots. A wall of glory would be nice too, with people that are neutral or have a pro humanity kinda view.
This is dangerously close to the rethoric of what JonTron used "against" Destiny in their talk, to be honest. Read back my posts in this thread, and educate yourself on my opinion on JonTron's views. I am just saying that no amount of stupdity (that a quite sizeable amount of the US proudly displayed in the last election) makes someone's harassment "deserved".
And TB's point is right. It should be more important to disprove those bullshit statistics instead of attacking the person who delivered these ideas.

Why do I need to argue against a premise that I didn't define for myself? I find it is more important to have mass amount of people see that this type of action will not be supported.
I think there is good in having people see and understand that JonTron is a bigot and racist so they know exactly who they are supporting.
JonTron has the right to be a bigot. I'm not looking to change that.

TotalBiscuit calling criticizing JonTron for his abhorrent views (these aren't just factually inaccurate, these are white supremacist talking points) a witch hunt is pretty funny considering how he uses his twitter and other platforms to laser target victims for his loyal horde of followers to attack. The guy volunteered these opinions, people are reacting appropriately.

TIL it's wrong to want people to subscribe to the viewpoint that I'm not a detriment to the gene pool.
I also learned that negative opinions and ideas don't spread, and that problems of moral fiber are solved by ignoring them.

He had at least some good vids going after Joey Salads, and I admit that's the sort of thing I know him for. Thing is, it's increasingly apparent that he has at least some cognitive dissonance when people he knows are involved, or otherwise his motivations for those vids were perhaps less 'this is a race baiting asshole and I'll knock him down a peg', and more the 'fake media' angle. Ultimately beneficial in the end, but easily applicable to less savoury contexts, and permits other views to exist alongside it.
