It would be a dream if they could get someone like Donnie Yen to join season 2 as the action director to raise the choreography a notch or two.
Heck, they should cast Donnie Yen as Lei Kung while they are at it.

Just adding that chi thing seems inconsistent and the iron fist seems to confirm to the plot. It's bothering more than Jessica's strength because whenever he needs the fist to prove his story or whenever suddenly he can't.

Does this show seriously end with a closeup of Danny's fist?
Agents of SHIELD gave us full-on Ghost Rider and here we got two glowing eyes and some growling sounds.

Having finished the series, I honestly think Buck is getting more blame for this than he deserves.

I don't doubt that he's a hack, and I'm certainly not optimistic about Inhumans. But a gritty, grounded, street-level Iron Fist series was always a bad idea, and while I can certainly envision a better version of the show he set out to make, I don't think I can envision a good one.

Finished the show earlier today. Not nearly as bad as the critics made it out to be. A lot of the negatives listed here are exaggerated as well.

Story is ok. Not great, not bad. Choreography is the biggest weakness for a martial arts show imo.

It's the most straight forward comic-y story of all the shows, I think. And that's fine. I do think that works against it in people's minds though. Overall it was entertaining enough. They just need a better fight choreographer and directors that are better at filming fight scenes. There were far too few episodes with good shots and cuts of the fights.

Kind of glad the internet did its thing and managed to lower my expectations for this show. Went in fearing the worst. It definitely had a lot of issues but overall I enjoyed it.

So is he still discovering his powers? And please tell me more than just his one of his fist glows.

up till ep 11 and
always only 1 fist
.

episode 10 spoiler ahead read at your own risk
But there was footage of a previous Iron Fist and both of his hands were glowing, so at least theres that. He also had a proper IF mask, which is infuriating lol.

Lord have mercy that sounds lame. Least there is hope.

Well I watched it. It was okay. Unlike JJ and LC... I actually finished this one.

DD2 > DD1 > IF > yawning > JJ/LC.

Is the second half better than the first?

I usually watch the Marvel shows as soon as they come back up with all the negative reviews and the Twitch Power Ranger stream, I haven't gotten around to seeing it.

Is better in that because the first half is kinda shit but imo it is still at best mediocre to ok

Episode 2 was pretty low in terms of it just flat-out wasting our time, but other than that, I guess I agree.

No costume then?
I'm barely just finishing ep.2
Costume spoilers.
Danny never dons the costume.
The most we ever see is a black and white recording of a previous Iron Fist fighting.

The first three or four episodes could have been just one episode i guess they had to stretch because of the episode count but still
I would have appreciated one episode entirely devoted to vagrant Danny before we ever step foot in Rand if only because they could have used that to hone in on his motivations and general philosophy instead of rushing headlong into stretched out corporate drama.

The issue is that Danny Rand is a dumb character. He trains every day for 15 years with ancient heavenly monks but almost none of that shows in his character. He might as well have been in a coma for 15 years and been trained in the Matrix. Danny Rand doing better choreographed fight scenes isn't going to change the fact that Danny Rand fighting isn't very believable.

Lmao at the fucking
m&ms thing. All but the dirty brown ones. Lol wtf was that

Danny Rand is an honest dude. M&Ms are all chocolate, but some of them have non-chocolate colors in order to deceive you. Be more like Danny, M&Ms.

I agree an episdoe dedicated to vagrant Danny would have been more intereistng since we will get to see him adjusting to the new world than four episodes of drama wheter danny is really danny. My problem is it feels the first arc feels like a pilot episode that has been stretched out.

Taking the show on its own merits and ignoring the dialogue the only time we ever see Danny in the monastery is
laying before a cave, him standing on a snowy mountain or getting caned as a child during his "training".

It's when you take in the conflicting dialogue that he espouses over and over do you notice the disconnect between his supposed training and what we ever see.

So I am 7 episodes in and I'm not really understanding some of the hate/poor reviews this is getting.

It has been as good as any of the other Marvel series on Netflix.

*shrug*

I enjoyed the show a lot, but I'll admit that most of the show was complete garbage. The lore was interesting, but the action... good lord.

Having just finished it, I think my biggest complaint with the show is the general casting of the leads or perhaps a mix of the casting and just writing.

I accept the vulnerability of Danny so I was able to look beyond his dialogue and acting as it made sense in a way, but the Meachums... I just couldn't take them seriously at all. Bad acting, dialogue, it was just really rough.

My worst complaint right now is I feel like Claire was very poorly introduced into the show, she just happens to decide to train with the one person in the city that knows Danny? They could've come up with a better setup than that.

Actually it was foreshadowed at the end of Luke Cage, Claire picks up a Colleen self defense flyer.

DDs1>DDs2/JJ/LC>>>>>IF

Just finished. Enjoyed it the least out of the Netflix shows, by a fair margin. Not one was perfect but DDs1 came closest.

I can't imagine why Marvel had to pick this show of all shows to make. Puzzling to me. It's got issues before the pen hits the paper.

Rosario Dawson is perfect. Everyone is harping on why she didn't call up Luke Cage or Daredevil but I feel like the implication was that they were unavailable for whatever reason. More surprised Elektra never showed up, frankly. Did the finale remind anyone else of Catwoman? It was wrapped up a little too neat, though. Liked the episode 12 twist with the DEA coming after Danny, but that went away pretty easily... :S And why is Danny suddenly doing the Christian Bale Batman voice?

Loved the dude from Looking as the psychiatrist.

Fake edit:
Nah, fuck this show. Wrote this post as I was watching the finale. Finally got to the last 20 minutes and fuck. this. show. The scene with Joy and what's his face at the diner suddenly being like, "Let's kill Danny!" That's BEYOND bullshit. I don't buy it. Stupid ass writing. The last time we see Joy she runs away from her father after figuring out he set Danny up. Before that, Danny was sacrificing his life to save her. Now? Well, I want my old life back so let's kill my childhood friend. Ridiculous. 2 extra >s added to my post.

I should mention that I had no problem with the logic leaps in Jessica Jones that people always bring up. I can get into it and enjoy the show for what it is. This? They have no fucking clue who Joy is. They're just making this shit up as they go along. That is so beyond out of character. She was just interrogating her dad over possibly ordering someone killed. "Look me in the eyes and tell me you didn't do it." A week later? "You wanna kill Danny? I'm listening." FUCK THIS SHOW. Even Ward, like... oh, now he's buddy-buddy with Danny? After he killed his dad? Twice? Guess he kicked that heroin habit. DRAMATIC EYEROLL

Pretty mediocre, not as good as Arrow s2 but better than Arrow s3. Nothing really great about Danny and we already have Daredevil, Batman, Arrow and Cap.

Yup. And I think I was just as offended by Davos suggesting it. You know, killing the man who he thinks of as a brother. I get he feels betrayed/abandoned but it's a BIG leap to get to wanting to kill him for it.

Lets
add Ward also tried to have Danny killed , granted he didn't know he was the real Danny but still.

It's like a poor man's Doctor Strange.

This is my least favorite part of the whole MCU. I'd rather watch Season 1A of Agents of SHIELD on a god damn LOOP. Stupid ass show. Braindead writing.

You guys think this show will get a Season 2 or naw? I kept watching it, and I honestly thought it had a lot of potential, but it just failed to deliver. With a better showrunner, script, and if it isn't so rushed, I really think Season 2 could be a huge improvement.

the fighting seems to get slightly better as the show goes along. (just finished episode 6) but finn jones isn't able to make it look convincing. looks more like they are practicing the choreography slowly rather than free flowing movement. which is probably why the cuts in the action are all weird and there are all these strange camera angles and shots where you can barely tell whats happening.

so far coleen wing looks like she would kick danny's ass

there have been worse shows that have gotten a second season on netflix. that and bad critical reception doesn't necessarily mean people aren't watching it. i mean look at all the people on on gaf who say the show is terrible but binged it all. if a lot of people are doing that it'll probably get renewed.

Kill off Danny in Defenders. Write out the Meachums and have someone else take up the Iron Fist mantle. I could get hyped for that. Season 2 of this shit? Nahhhh

Unlikely, but I would expect a Luke Cage + Iron Fist "Heroes for Hire" series. Basically a Blaxploitaiton/Kung-Fu Buddy Bromance Crime Fighter series. Would throw Jessica Jones in there too as a big "super hero detective agency" but I'm not sure there's room for three heroes in that sort of plot line (especially with Jessica Jones generating drama everywhere she goes).

Would love to have a Colleen Wing / Misty Knight Daughters of the Dragon series though.

Only watched the first episode so far, but it seemed fine. Not great, not terrible. Pretty typical show and in line with the rest of the Marvel series.

He asked if you think it will get another season, not if you want another season.

And yes i think it will most likely get a season 2. Hell I bet you it has better ratings than Luke Cage (for all the wrong reasons) whoch is getting another season, and thats all they care about, they dont give 2 fucks if we like Buck as showrunner or Finn.

Hell Buck probably wouldnt return since he has Inhumans also, which would be a good thing.
