I wonder what Scorpio could do if the emphasis was on pushing graphics rendering / fidelity and image quality to the limit at just native 1080p.

I'm talking much higher polygon counts, as much AA as possible, and the best lighting model possible.

The NFL shit could have been games. I like a healthy market but only when it's earned. I WANT to see them do well but by actually being good! I hope they have some tricks for E3.

I think your putting too much emphasis on their games because they weren't there at launch. Let's not act like 2014 was some amazing year for Sony exclusives

Sony launched a fairly comparable product and $100 cheaper. It's a no brainer to play FIFA, madden GTA and COD etc. it adopted what the 360 was last gen. Sony also is doing what they always did in mainland Europe and Japan. Dominate. The difference is that they also were doing much better in the US and U.K. Compared to last gen. Brand loyalty only goes so far when the same product is $100 cheaper and plays the same games. That's where MS messed up. MS were never going to do great in Germany or Greece Japan etc. they messed up in losing their momentum in the US

I wonder how many already released third party games will get Scorpio patches. I'm sure most first party games will, but have we heard any on the third party side?

Spencer has hinted a couple of times that there maybe an event before E3 for Scorpio and if that is the case, I assume invites for that will go out in the next few weeks.

I'm thinking mid may. It will also give them a few weeks of momentum before E3 which they can build off.

I imagine certain folks at MS are bursting at the seams to get this show started. And start the spec talk.

I'm sure if a dev wanted to they could do some mind blowing shit... it'd probably run at 480i on OG Xbox One though.

Yeah, I like my stuff in native HD. Stuff on pro is a blurry mess. Can't even make out the finer details. Pixelated like a mosaic censor.

What magical graphics stack are MS inventing that'll make any meaningful difference? Probably none. Devs will just want to know hardware performance and carry on using Direct X

I'm sure original Xbox One (2013) could do some great stuff at 640x480 as could PS4.

But lets say the lower-end HD resolution of 1280x720p, Scorpio could probably pull off some insane visuals at either 30 or even 60fps. I'd love to see some demos done with that in mind.

Mary Jo Foley wrote an article about what may be at the hardware event. She didn't mention Scorpio but my guess is it will be there. I just don't think Phil is in a position to say as MS likes to keep things under wraps pretty tight around these events. I can imagine it has to be soon since the final dev kits will be shipped out in June. Sounds like developers don't know what the final specs are yet.

Not a guess, but rather games I'd like to see get the patch, anything is else is gravy.

If I'm reading this right, he's implying the console has more than 6TF. Dunno with Jez, he's deliberately obtuse for the hits sometimes.

I think he did say that. However he did say that we are getting to a point where power is starting to experience diminishing returns. So like Scorpio isn't going to be a huge generational jump over the PS4 pro but he is also sort of implying that this will continue going forward. My bet is we won't be as blown away by PS5 or Scorpio 2 like we were in the past doubling pixels and moving to 3D. The returns will get less and less.

Also Master Chief collection is a no brainer. It's their legacy.
