As someone whose favorite Call of Duty game remains the original and its expansion pack... I could not be more thrilled about this game.

For me the World War II setting remains by far the most natural for this kind of game. To have the classic experience of Call of Duty reborn for the modern era is simply a thrilling prospect for me.

The series has drifted further and further away from my interests for the last decade.

I'm totally surprised and very pleased that a Call of Duty game may well become my most anticipated game of the year.

High hopes for the reveal. We'll see if it can live up to what I imagine the game could be.

This. But I regard CoD2 as a better game than the first one.

Season pass price reduced around a year after black ops 3 so i might wait for season pass price to drop before i may get it

This isn't gonna be that game obviously, but my dream WW2 game would be an almost survival horror take on it. Super atmospheric and an emphasis on small scale cat-and-mouse battles with really personal violence, unsettling sound design, and limited resources. Always with the impression that something extremely sinister is going on happen beyond just warfare. I think that could be a unique way to represent war both narratively, and in terms of gameplay beyond just rushing down waves of dudes gung ho style.

This makes me think of Enemy at the Gates.

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.
They must be really proud of this game.

Apologies if this has been answered already, but has there been no mention of a Modern Warfare 2 remake? Looking at the marketing material it doesn't seem to advertise that anywhere.

A combination of WW2 and Modern combat in one package would make this an amazing overall deal.

The reveal tomorrow will show more than the Destiny 2 reveal right? There going to show an actual gameplay trailer and talk about some of the content and features?

I think people are forgetting that MWR likely took Raven around two years to make, seeing as it was pretty much a full-on remake as opposed to an HD remaster. So unless Activision creates a studio(s) dedicated to remaking older COD titles, it'll probably be a while before we hear about anything like a MW2 remake. Especially if Raven are the ones who would be working on it.

they usually do separate things for campaign and multiplayer if past years are any indication. their info blowouts are separate from e3.

Well, in hindsight I think this would have been a much better scenario to have offered two games. Historical and Modern era in one, I think, is more enticing than Modern and Future.

Doubt it, all these will be saved for E3

"24 hours from now we get to share with our fans [...] all the different game modes, some great guests, and lot of news...".

It's a live event that they're doing rehearsal for, so there's a good chance we'll be seeing at least a bit of everything. Otherwise it would have just been a countdown to a trailer, and they wouldn't be talking about showing game modes (plural, presumably singleplayer, multiplayer and co-op).

I want them to show MP so bad, but usually the MP trailer stuff comes after the reveals.

Brothers in Arms as a series did focus on small-unit actions and might be seen as unflinchingly violent (almost no music played during missions, for example, just gunfire and shouts with plentiful gore in later entries), and Hell's Highway in particular did begin to delve a bit into psychological horror, but I don't think any of the games featured limited resources beyond the lives of your squad members.

I would like to see something like what you describe be developed, a game that properly conveys the desperation of combat.

Usually, but since having betas again, and abandoning Call of Duty XP multiplayer reveals, how they handle revealing multiplayer has been unpredicatable.

Recent tradition would suggest E3, so I doubt we'll see a MP trailer tommorow, but I expect we'll get some details to expound of 'a return to boots on the ground combat', especially as that's their key pre-order bonus.

True true! Hopefully. We'll see. Not too long now. :)

I want simple kill streaks that are worth a damn. and perks that all don't cancel each other out. I also hate the 10 point system or what ever. go back to 3 perks, and you must choose wisely.

They're really making a big deal out of this reveal. You'd have to go back to last gen for a similar treatment as this gen it's been mostly them just revealing it alongside a console or just dropping a trailer on a specific date. But they've got a whole event planned around this.

They saw the success of BF1.

I think their kind of treating this as a "reboot".

Haven't sales been kind of flat for the previous few COD games?

Infinite Warfare MP reveal was just at CoD XP last year...

Might need to stop sniffing glue
You know that band who released a smash level first album and you loved them? Their second release was great, and their third was good at best, but ever offering after made you wish for them to return to the glory you remember them for?

CoD is that band, and each game are that band's albums. Every time they put out hype for a new album/game and each time you get hyped, even if less each time.

I hope for the best. Cautiously optimistic. Also, I've noticed a lot of images of the beach associated with this game today. On Facebook, they had a post with animated waves washing ashore revealing the game name. I think that is almost certainly an Omaha Beach reference. We shall see soon.

I'm kind of bummed that I've fallen into the MP focused crowd. I find myself less and less interested in the single player reveal and am all but exclusively interested in MP, maps/3-lane/loadouts etc.. I used to always play through the campaign before I touched MP, but now, I rarely find the time or have the temperament to sit down and enjoy the work put into the campaigns.

With that said, I hope the reveal touches on MP...
