Best Mouse for PC Gaming? 2017

Well, I'm on Razer Naga number six now in almost as many years, at least the current replacement which I got in March (replacing the new replacement I got in 2015 was a new one instead of jumping through the refurb hoop three times before reaching that step again. I still like it though there's certainly better options out there, I originally got it for WoW (original was a Cataclysm themed "Molten" version) but I don't plan on changing until either I give up in frustration and wanted something more "expanded" like I did with my old Logitech G7 or I get one that lasts longer than the warranty.

I will say my past experience with Logitech's customer service was really good, I kinda lost count of how many replacements I received not just from again, multiple G7 replacements (double click problems each time IIRC) but I think I went at least three there, X button sticking problems on wireless PS2 controller and a G15 gaming keyboard.

As for the Nagas the first one also started having double click problems, then the first two refurbished Nagas I received eventually had adhesive seeping out from the grip pad on the side while the last one was DOA. The new replacement from 2015 developed jumping issues with the scroll wheel a few weeks before I RMA'd it.

Obviously I have not had much luck with reliability when it comes gaming mice. Was kinda annoying spending so much money on one that maybe will last a couple years while you have an old OEM mouse that saw a lot more use and still works fine after over a decade. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

i've recently got a CM Alcor and for 40€ it's definitely great

wired tho

I've been using this mouse for like a year and it's great.

I paid just a little over 30€ for it (they've gotten more expensive lately vs when they came in the market for some reason).

Absolute steal for that price. Nice, clean look, you got a few firmwared to to choose for different profiles, plug and play... I don't like mouse softwares, I want a mouse that just works.

I had the original Diamondback for ten years, and then it started to lose connection. I got this Alcor because I wanted something that doesn't look like "I'm a pre-teen l33t gam3r g0d", and also because it was on the cheap side. I am a huge fan of great budget/preformance -ratio!

This mouse is light, shape's great too. It is on the smaller side, so if you like large mouses there's a chance you won't like this.

Cool site! But.. ARGH. I need practice.. Too much practice

Don't be upset, mate.

I can't score a single hit in most of the tests.
In the one I've linked I am normally at 1.5s mark (at best) with 70-75-ish score (at best).
(with wireless Hama mouse, which on paper is very precise, I bought it because of silent clicks)

I think this test is very relevant to this discussion, even though numbers from different users aren't directly comparable, as human plays huge role in it, it still gives a very good idea about what is achievable with particular mice.

Great mouse with an ambidextrous design. 8 programmable buttons, decent software, 90g weight, and thin braided cable. My main issue and what keeps me from using it all the time is the glossy texture of the mouse. It picks up finger prints and oil like no other. I'm very clean and it sort of disgusts me. It also uses a laser sensor.

Be glad you don't have the rubberized surface, once it starts wearing down, it's nightmare town.

Got my Azio Exo1 for $7.

I'm happy with it. I don't really like the larger and heavier mice. Even if their sensors are better.

I'm using the same one and it's been working great. I play Overwatch at 3 sensitivity and in Blue LED mode.

Tried out a 403 at home, it's definitely more responsive than an MX Master but I far prefer the way he MX Master feels in my hands, and the mouse feet on the 403 feel like they're grinding on my mouse pad while the MX master glides perfectly smooth.

wired or wireless, btw?

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I LOVE the wireless G403. Immediately the best mouse I've ever owned (I've had the G502, the Razer Deathadder, the MX518, etc..).

Fits in my large hands perfectly, best sensor on the market, looks really nice. The wireless is flawless. I also took off the little cover on the bottom of the mouse where you can add weights, and this removed another 2g off of the weight of the mouse. So it's 104g, which is pretty damn light for a wireless mouse. I can't see myself switching mice again for a long, long time.

Posted in another thread, i just got corsair scimitar Pro to replace my long serving g700s.

Besides losing tilt scrolling and the initial software setup, i am liking it more than g700s, as in, its more comfortable and still provides the same capabilities for my usage. I do not need to have the software installed after saving 3 profiles into the hardware memory.

It is light enough for FPS for me and i dont hit the buttons accidentally.

Having owned two G502s, I love the mouse but want to caution that it is pretty heavy for a mouse even without using the adjustable weights. Since I'm playing FPS, this became a showstopper for me. I ended up buying the G900 which I prefer by a large margin mostly due to the lighter weight (and wireless is awesome too).

Sensors are all so precise at this point that its not important anymore. Weight is the most important factor for precision aiming, and logitech produces little rocks. That's why they introduced the G Pro.

Logitech makes great mice, great for rpgs and strategy games for example, feels great in your hand, but just to heavy and slow if you want to play competitive overwatch or Counter-Strike.

Why play competitive CS or Overwatch when now exists Rainbow Six Siege? jest aside, the g502 has adjustable weights. Personally i like weight in my mouse, i'm that weirdo.

G502 if you are not an FPS esports gamer. G900 if you are. G403 if you prefer your mouse to be extremely light weight. It's really as simple as that.

Go get mx518 on eBay. You will thank me later.

I recently retired my ailing MX518 for a G300s and was pleasantly surprised, the plan was to get something cheap for now and replace it with something better down the road, G300s was a refurb on Ebay for $16 lol

But after 2 months with the G300s I'm just not finding any major faults or reason to get rid of it, the MX518 was a lot heavier but not sure if that's a plus or minus.. I'm kind of digging the super lightweight feel of the G300s.

I use the Zowie EC2-A and it's the best mouse I've ever had, period. The sensor is sooooooooo good. I don't think I could go back to my Razer Deathadder ever after using it.

I've had the G602 since December (grabbed it for $35 at Best Buy) and it's fantastic. While I didn't think I'd be using the 6 side buttons they felt easy to use after a little adjustment. I like the weight and size that it has, and above all else is really comfortable.

Only downside is that the wireless receiver is sort of weak so you need to be sure that it isn't blocked by anything such as the side of a wooden table in my setup. I currently have it plugged into the side of my keyboard so it is not an issue at all.

In the end its the best $35 I've spent on a peripheral.

I used to be the kind of guy who would load up my G9/G9X/G502 with all the weights that came with it because I liked using a heavy mouse. After I replaced my G9 with a G303, I've really come to appreciate how a lighter mouse felt and have come to preferring them now.

How's the deathadder's sensor different to the Zowie's? I know a lot of pros use Zowie, but they seem like basically the same mouse from the little I know.

Still using my Logitech 518 - is there any real reason to upgrade?

I still miss my Intellimouse Explorer 3.0

I honestly couldn't tell you the exact difference but I can definitely feel it. The Deathadder feels floaty in comparison. It's just really accurate. I bought it on the recommendation of a friend and my tracking in games like Overwatch and Titanfall 2 improved immediately.

Anyone know of a good keyboard to pair with a Logitech G Pro? I was actually looking to buy one these past few days and need a good keyboard to go with it.

I use the Corsair K70 RAPIDFIRE and I adore it for gaming. It's linear switches so no clicky-clacky but they're super snappy and responsive. Really good for FPS and games that require fast inputs but not so great for typing (just resting your hands on the keys will depress them).

Aside from ergonomics and weight, be sure to research whether the sensor of the mouse has built in acceleration. My old G700 had it, and it was awful for FPS's.

Logitech G Pro keyboard or G810

Same unified software, best RGB lighting of any keyboard in the market, but the tactile switches are very subjective.

While not top of the line, I've been using G400 + Steelseries Qck mousepad for years. It's great, honestly just getting a mouse by itself is ok but everyone should get a mousepad as well, made a difference for me. It's just so good compared to my old table top or cheap alsop plastic pad. The cloth pad feels very smooth and accurate to me.

I have a 700s and a deathadder chroma. Like them both. People like to rag on razer but I've had no issues in 2 years now with the chroma. Also have a black widow ultimate mech keyboard. No issues there either. Wireless I have a logi k800 and it's awesome as well

Tweak the dpi? My chroma isn't floaty at all.

Still using my G303. If it dies I'll probably replace it with the G403 (wired), or the G Pro if I can manage to ship it from the U.S.

I'd still looking for the perfect mouse. I like very simple mice. I never use any buttons on my mouse other than the 2 left and right and the wheel. Thumb buttons never feel right to me.

I'm currently using the Corsair Sabre which is pretty good but I'm not 100% in love with the grip. It's fine but not perfect.

The Logitech Pro is probably the most comfortable mouse I've had recently but for $70, the scroll wheel felt cheap. The G502 is pretty comfortable and I do like the scroll wheel on that one but I can't stand the rubber grip. The texture makes the mouse feel "dirty" and bothers me. I'd prefer a textured or smooth grip instead of the raised pluses.

Still looking but I'm content with the Saber for now.

Logitech G Pro is great for fingertip. It's minimalist, ambidextrous, has a great sensor (PMW3366), dpi is adjustable by 50 dpi each step if you want so you can get 1 to 1 pixel at whatever monitor res you need.

No complaints using mine for the past year now, might buy more in case. It's a very light mouse, which is perfect for me but if you're looking for something with weight you might wanna keep looking.

I've got a Logitech G302.

It's kind of a weird shape but it's super cheap, apparently uses the same sensor as the more expensive G502, and it works really well with my fingertip grip. I've been using it for about six months and I have zero complaints.

Edit: Actually it's the G303.

Just real quick: It's the G303 with the PMW3366 that Logitech uses in the G502, G900, G403 and GPro, not the G302.
I think the G302 was their first mouse with the pre-tensioned buttons though, which have also spread out to the rest of the Logitech line. The pre-tensioned buttons are pretty freaking great. I love the shape of my G303 too (exactly the same as the G302).

MX518 is amazing. My only knock on it is that it is too light for me.
My favorite is the G502. Such a great feel.
Also, am I the only one that prefers wired over wireless? I know it sounds lazy but changing batteries does not seem worth the payoff.

Well as someone who loves the g502 but wants to try something lighter, what's a good option? G403 or g pro?

Just remove some or all of the weights.
