I understand not liking the DLC, but why can't you just buy the base game and not bother with the DLC?
I normally also do this, but I wasn't home in the days it was announced and everything was gone before I even had a chance. I'll keep looking, I'm not paying more for these editions than the official price. Nintendo really should just have some decent numbers for a change.I sell you mine for 150 EUR, no worries. But honestly, it really feels like Nintendo's LE are really limited, whereas most other aren't. Still happy that I got one for FE Fates. I typically order two copies for limited editions I want in case one retailer messes something up.
Can people please stop being reasonable and criticising Nintendo for this? I wanted to make a joke about Nintendo always getting a pass on things like this, and the fact that the season pass costs $45. There's comedy gold in there somewhere.
I would say this more on intelligent System then Nintendo.
Edit: does this game need grinding maps? Can't you just grind in the dungeons and what not?
Fates had a season pass as well. They just broke up Fates into 2 I think.No. Good thing DLCs are optional, which most people here seem to forget.
Also, I think Nintendo made a huge mistake by offering a season pass, cause everyone will just see the $45 price tag and complain. People acting like they're only doing this now and failing to realize that awakening and fates also had a shitton of DLC.
Why did they choose FE as their DLC whore IP? =/ Damn.

Awakening was broken up into packs. Buy the whole thing cheaper and get a discount. Yada yada.
I can't even tell you if Gaiden DLC is more expensive then the other two.
Awakening is $50.50, Fates cost $40 for other campaigns+ $25.98 for the two map packs. Fun fact, the western world never got Festival of Bonds DLC than Nintendo decided to hold hostage for whatever reason...
Or you can Not buy the DLC in protest of this DLC and not sound stupid.Won't buy the game out of protest of this DLC. Welcome to the NEW Nintendo.
From the dlc description, those dlc seems they were cut from the game.
I mean, everything seems available but they had to cut it from the game.
I don't think I'll be buying DLC for FE games ever again. Not because I give a shit about it morally, but because some of the maps are literally cheats and I don't like that temptation.
On the fence about Echoes because of all the negative sentiment about Gaiden, but 8-4 is involved and I love the art style.
Also none of this even registers on the evil scale compared to what they pulled in FE Heroes last week. We'll know for sure if Nintendo hired Satan if they have a tie-in promotion where if you buy Echoes you get something in FEH.
Remember the days when Nintendo actually sold complete games and didn't leave things to the DLC?
How can they cut something that never existed in the original game. From the dlc description, those dlc seems they were cut from the game.

Yeah. I guess I dont have a problem considering all that stuff is just Overpower stuff and stat boosts, adds nothing much overall and meant as a fun little thing.Awakening is $50.50, Fates cost $40 for other campaigns+ $25.98 for the two map packs. What is incomplete about the base game? It is already a complete remake of an older game with a ton of wholly new content added in. This is just even more brand new content that might not even be done yet.Remember the days when Nintendo actually sold complete games and didn't leave things to the DLC?
I mean, the game looks like a great return to form for Fire Emblem. I think if you care about the franchise, particularly the franchise pre-Awakening, you should let Nintendo know that there is an audience for that. Similarly, you can not buy the DLC because you don't agree with their DLC practices.I was thinking about buying this one since I didn't pay for Awakening or Fates and the friend I borrowed both from doesn't play his 3DS anymore so I doubt he'd buy this, but I think I'll pass.
Or, they could just not buy the game, works better.

What specifically looks like it was cut to you? Unlike the last couple of FE games we can clearly see what is actually the core content and what isn't because it's a remake. From the dlc description, those dlc seems they were cut from the game.

Pretty crazy that the season pass is more expensive than the actual game. Have we ever seen that with another game?
And earn new classes that aren't in the base game? :/ yeah I'm sure that wasn't pulled from the main game /s

Because you enjoy Fire Emblem, and the game is a good, classic Fire Emblem game? Also I wouldn't be so sure about the sales, first week sales for Echoes were down in Japan, might be the same for the West. It wasn't that long ago that Fire Emblem was on the verge of death, this style of Fire Emblem especially. The GBA Fire Emblem gem is my favorite game on the system and one of my top 5 games of all time but why would I give them money to tell them I don't want to give them more money.
Seems counter intuitive.
The game will sell well regardless.
Fates already has a DLC campaign of 5-6 chapters though, 'heirs of fate', that takes place after the main campaign, do you mean something like that?I've never cared about Fire Emblem DLC yet and I don't see a reason to start now. Usually the base game is enough to satisfy my appetite.
I do feel as though Fire Emblem DLC could be done properly. Maybe something like a go-between the smaller maps and the Fates campaigns? Like maybe a side-story similar to Lyn's from FE7 that's around 10 or so chapters?
I understand not liking the DLC, but why can't you just buy the base game and not bother with the DLC?
Why should they be able to hold so much content ransom? $45 dollars of DLC? Bullshit. No way it costs as much as the base game. I'd like to play the DLC, but this is too much.I understand not liking the DLC, but why can't you just buy the base game and not bother with the DLC?
None of these are important to the base game from what I see, except dlc 4 which is a storyline prologue. Why should they be able to hold so much content ransom? $45 dollars of DLC? Bullshit. No way it costs as much as the base game. I'd like to play the DLC, but this is too much.
You aren't meant to purchase all of it. Also the grinding DLC is completely unnecessary because you can grind in the game already. If you just bought the extra classes and story content, it's $20 which isn't that bad.Why should they be able to hold so much content ransom? $45 dollars of DLC? Bullshit. Except for 4 and 5. All of these are completely unnecessary and for lazy players. They are grinding maps. Why should they be able to hold so much content ransom? $45 dollars of DLC? Bullshit. No way it costs as much as the base game. I'd like to play the DLC, but this is too much.
