Just saw this on my Twitter feed.. so I am sorry if this is old.. but damn...

https://www.change.org/p/ubisoft-cancel-far-cry-5

here are some quotes from the petition.

Enough is enough UbiSoft. We’ve sat through your multicultural lectures and your preachy games aimed at degenerates and miscegenators. We’ve tolerated it in the name of gameplay design and innovation. But no more! Far Cry 5 is an insult to your fanbase, the Americans who make up the majority of your customers, and it’s time you woke up to that fact. Change this, or cancel it.

It’s time to draw a line in the sand. We, the American gamers that make up the majority of your userbase, demand to you cancel this game, or alter it to be less offensive to your main player base. In these times, you must understand that there might be some violent repurcussions if you intend to follow through with your pointless criticism.

Follow one of more of these and this game will be saved from PC hell and multicultural development. We Americans have so few games to call our own, and we’re tired of losing them to multi-cultural bullshit.

this is fucked up...are these people real?

like this one:

Change the villains. It’s not so hard, really. Just change the villains to something more realistic. Islam is on the rise in America, as is the violence of inner city gangs. Are you scared to do so? In the words of Boltair – “To learn who rules you, simply find out who’s not being criticized.”

wtf..?

A petition with 200 signatures that seems to be a joke given it's quoting mocking Tweets really isn't worth anyone's time.

Welcome to crazy Change.org petitions. There are like a million of these for every perceived slight, don't take it personally.

Do people actually think that Far Cry 5 is going to make some profound message or statement? They're using America as their setting to give some variety to the franchise. Story and it's depth is the last thing I expect from this series.

The petition reads like a parody.

"Us Gamers have had to endure a lot of crap over the last few years. The targeted harassment by the mainstream press through Gamergate, the terrible launch and outright lies of highly anticpated video games, the outright censorship of art through “localization” policies, the continued rejection of romantic partners when they find out our hobby, the appropriation of our culture by so-called “gamers” on twitter. NO MORE!".

This is rather obvious a joke

Wow. That is crazy. It is funny because the Far Cry 5 story and setting has got me super interested more than any other Far Cry game that I am preordering. I think based on impressions that it is a hit. I would never have guessed a petition would happen.

Who can say anymore? There are fuckwits everywhere, who believe this shit for real, and are more emboldened than ever to be vocal.

I love the "We Americans have so few games to call our own." Like, what? The majority of games are inoffensive and bland. Also, why look to a French/Canadian company for your "American" games?

I adore the way the religious in America will talk around the subject too, in order to muddy the waters. It's not about the fact that they play on religious fundamentalism in America and use it as the antagonistic force -- meaning, *shock*, you might be in the wrong side of history! In this one game's narrative, at least. Oh, when will all these horrid micro-aggressions against the weak, defenceless majority stop!

Nope, it's about them making everything about "social justice" and not specifically catering to "Americans" (and not, you know, the religious right) that has literally been catered to nonstop for decades. Like, who do they think they're fooling? Don't hide behind the banner of America when you really mean religious fundamentalism. It shows your true colours when you won't be intellectually honest about who and what you're trying to "defend."

And the (not-so-veiled) threat of violence if a game comes out that dares to critique their culture. Gross.

And those are the guys that goes around calling snowflakes to other.
So many insecure idiots in America.

EDIT: I mean, maybe it's a parody, but the fuck do I know in a Country where someone like Trump got elected. And it's not like I already saw my fair share of stupidity with insecure gamers.

That some of the game's critics sympathize with a violent religious cult is a much, MUCH bigger problem than Ubisoft making a game about one.
