I didn't think it was gonna appear before, but just today I was thinking that they could definitely open with TLOU: Part II. Seriously, how can a game as big as that just skip E3? No introduction, just a cold open like they did at PSX with Uncharted: TLL.

What would make one think TLOU2 wouldn't be there? Did I miss something?

We have a broad sense of what to expect, and in general, Sony's been consistently strong. Full zen.

PS5 confirmed!

Considering Uncharted is closer to launching than TLOU2, I'd be surprised if Naughty Dog would show TLOU2.

Nevermind the fact that the game is super early in development.

Sure, they could show something, but they simply do not need to.
That's the point, Sony doesn't need to do it. Just like they didn't need to show that trailer at the end of PSX. Could've easily ended with something else..look at how PSX 2014/2015 ended.

We only know that Capcom is bringing another Monster Hunter to the west. But Monster Hunter: World may be one of the western name of a Japan only MH game.

It may be the MHXX port for Switch they recently announced. We only have a random Reddit (or 4chan?) post from an unknown source that doesn't provide anything to back with credibility that MH is coming to PS4.

We don't have any "MH on PS4" leak or even decent rumor, just a random Reddit post.

I think they won't show TLOU2 this E3. It's too early to show it, they have many other announced games to show including a new Uncharted game and Lawden said that the TLOU2 PSX trailer was supposed to debut this E3 but they decided to show it before.

MatrixMam.Exe's posts in the Japanese announcements thread makes it pretty clear that World is a console Monster Hunter

Soooo shit leaks around us everywhere... but nothing from Sony yet *sweat* hopefully they can keep it that way.

And everybody told me that Gaf is Sony land yet the Xbox E3 thread had far surpassed this one, people are that hyped towards the Scorpio?

New hardware is always exciting, if there wasn't a launch then that thread would be moving slower I think.
Not to shit on Xbox but if we're strictly talking about games there's less to discuss compared to the PS camp.

That's good, less pressure on them.

It's not meant for a majority of consumers.

if 4K60 is possible for consoles in 2018.... why not?

The problem with this train of thought is, where does it end? A new console every 12-18months? No chance.

At that point, you are moving into a territory where the only logical step would be a modular console.

Well, to be fair, that Xbox E3 thread is 3 months older, it was created in February..But there is a lot of hype in that thread, for sure, as there should be..

That Scorpio sting!

New hardware launches generate a bunch of excitement.

It ends with 4K/60 with all bells and whistles (ultra pc settings and techniques), just recently have GPU's been able to handle 4K/60 with everything maxed out.
And not even all games can be ran at 4K/60 with even a 1080Ti, the move to 8k won't be here for a while, hell even 4K isn't even mainstream on PC's.

Slim pro with a new color option at $350 will be the most exciting announcement for me if it happens, really want one. If not, then og black pro it is.

I get that but if they make a ps4 proest next year how much more substantial could a ps5 release be?

Often people are so obsessed with the numbers, specs and stuff of the hardware and completely deviate from the most important thing ever, games offered. I'm really happy that PS4 Pro launched and Sony can get back into focusing games again.
I don't want to be that guy or sound like a fanboy, but seeing people getting excited over a spec sheet or a chip bugs me, like you can seriously get excited from those stuff instead of games? Hardware presentation is always the most boring thing ever unless you are going for the nintendo approach with fancy stuff, other than that, just give me the game. I'm really looking forward for Microsoft conference to see what they are cooking for their new hardware launch because for sure there will be a lot of software, hopefully.

They're treating the Scorpio like its the Messiah. Apparently The Messiah has a lot of following.

Does anyone know if they'll be allowing non-press/industry people to line up for the conference at the Shrine? I believe they did last year?

When newer output advances are not obtainable. 4k60 will be it until 8k30 becomes possible around 2020.

It's been a long time coming... we've finally received a cpu that's cost friendly for consoles. Why would we wait to get it into a console?

Yeah im the same way. My hardware priority this year is a switch. When the nfl or college football starts brodcasting games in full 4k is when I'll likely make the jump. Until then i'll keep my meager lil boxes and buy games for them

But samsung and lg may launch a 5k tv (ces2018) before sony and panasonic launch 8k. Shouldn't the next ps console be focusing on 5k30 now that we know 5k is coming. Not trying to bust your chops but where does it end. Is ddr6 available for mass production? What are its pros and cons over ddr5? Its not as simple as some people would suggest

Microsoft fans are just excited, and they deserve to be. Sony has killing it for years, and it's nice that MS is doing something better than Sony to excite their dedicated fans.
