What is Starfield?

4/10. That format sounds good on paper, but holy crap was the execution obnoxious. Only 2 good games out of that conference, but hey, they're probably the most notable game announcements of E3 so far. Fuck paid mods tho.

Really weak conference, but props for showing stuff coming this year. I don't think they can get away with doing something of a similar scale next year though.

This conference was the exact reverse of that :p

Thought it was a solid press conference. Quick and to the point, some amazing games. Enjoyed that a hell of a lot more than the slog microsoft did

Why even hold a live conference for this? Seems like they could've just Nintendo directed it since it was 99.9% pre-recorded video anyways.

I do appreciate Bethesda's commitment to only announcing games that can be played in the year they are announced, but sometimes I do enjoy having something to look forward to if it looks fantastic.

Damn, I thought Todd was gonna run out at the very end and announce something. Oh well at least we get a new Wolfenstein this year!

No one is saying that? Everyone is saying those 2 games looked great.

The entire rest of the conference was a huge dud. I'm struggling to see why Bethesda needed their own dedicated conference this year.

Yes they are. There's literally posts on the last page asking why they even showed up at all, or why they didn't push their games in the other conferences.

I feel like they were going to show starfield and pulled the plug at the last second. Pete seemed upset. Show ended with 20 minutes left in the hour. Very abrupt ending. The "have a good night" came off like he just got some terrible news.

Bethesda conferences without Todd just aren't worth it I guess. If you don't have enough content to last an hour, don't bother. No one wiould have been upset if they just announced they were too busy making games for a conference, and Wolf 2 and TEW2 were announced at Sony or MS conferences instead.

Evil within and Wolfenstein looked cool.

The rest was meh. Stop having a press conference Bethesda. You´re not in any way in hell worth having your own conference. It´s time to stop. Second year in a row. Get back on the stage for the three console makers. Smelling their own farts too much.

Ok, I'm starting to worry about GAF. I'm a pretty critical guy, and call out BS when I see it (which in gaming happens a lot) but that was a pretty fine conference. I'd give it a 8.5/10. Seriously. Lighten up GAF.

Weak as fuck conference. I mean yeah, new Wolfenstein, fuck yeah, but I was expecting more new and exciting stuff from Bethesda. Thought they would have lived up to their "bethesdaland" thingie.

they just had a fairly captive audience for what amounts to a 30 minute commercial for their games. That is why they "bother".

Now, please, Bethesda, put Skyrim special edition on sale. Its still $60 on the PS store.

ESO is no substitute for greatness.

And looks like I'll need to give Wolfenstein and the Old Blood another run through, for old time's sake.

Conference with just trailers and announcements: Boo, what a waste. Shouldn't even show up.

Conference with trailers, demoed gameplay, talking heads: Too long wrap it up, I'm bored already.

They are basically holding their conference cred for the next year when they role out one of their mega RPGs where they can literally spend 30 mins just on all its features like they did Fallout 4. This seemed like a lower budget off year for them.

They announced 2 new games that are actually coming out this year. The 3 coolest games at the MS conference aren't until 2018, and will probably get delayed and pushed back like normal.

Evil Within 2 and Wolfenstein looked cool if not my thing.

So someone could be into those things but they could really learn from the others with more gameplay and not spending 3/4ths of the show on games already out. "Stuff out this year" isn't something worth praise if there's all of 2 completely new things within that year.

2018 hype should be embraced.

Worst show so far.

Was the starry background meant to tease Starfield? I kept hoping they'd say something about it at the very end, even just acknowledge they're working on it but unfortunately it didn't happen.

Feels like it will be ages before their next big RPG. Be it Starfield or Elder Scrolls.

EA - D
Microsoft - C+
Bethesda - C-

They really didn't need their own press conference this year. I'm also docking them for censoring swearing at the start but not the end. Pick one and stay with it (though I don't know why Bethesda of all publishers would censor anything to begin with).

Yes? That's what people are saying. Two games are not worthy of a live, in person conference, especially one at such a horrible time.

No one is going to play for hours at a time in VR a rpg like Fallout. They needed something specifically made for VR in the Fallout world.

Stoked for Wolfenstein. Wished Quake announced for PS4. Evil within looked good.

Next up Sony...
