These consoles are designed for higher-res and providing stabler framerates, not jumping from 30 to 60.

My guess is the problem will be the CPU's. It's an open world game and the cities, especially, will have a big impact on CPU.

This is borne out on PC. At the same time, the cities ont he console verison feature less actors, they are less crowded than on high settings on PC, so maybe they can play around with that budget, or just say, fuck it, 60 FPS outside cities and whatever drops in the city as an option.

Guys you are not getting 60fps on PS4 Pro. Probably not X1X either.

Don't set yourselves up for disappointment. Just hope for a more stable framerate and an IQ boost.

This is so great bc witcher does look kind of soft when put on my 4k display, looked better on my 1080p

I hope we dont have to wait for x to come out tho

Someone is funding the patches for sure. Probably just CDPR really wanting to cement this games already established legacy.

Fuck me I've already finished the main quest, heart of stone, and blood and wine. I guess maybe there are still some witcher contracts or side missions out there I never did.

That's awesome, W3 is on my quite large backlog of shame and I already own it on PS4 but haven't played it more than 30 mins. Looking forward to the pro patch.

Hoping Akrham Knight gets a patch as well.

MS kickstarted it, no doubt. They just couldn't keep it exclusive.

The reason there was no patch for Pro was because CDPR were busy. So unless they discovered newfound time in the middle of their dev cycle for Cyberpunk some sort of arrangement was made where Pro wasn't left out, probably for bad PR reasons. And MS relented in spite of no exclusivity.

I think it will be 60fps on Xbox One X and 30fps on the Pro (maybe with some graphical downgrades like textures). The Scorpio is a beast.

I'm betting on 30 on the X. The visual disparity is broad enough that I am sure they will go as close to Ultra settings before working on framerate. I genuinely hope I am wrong though.

Couldn't they offer an unlocked framerate mode for the X without introducing screen-tearing? Even 35-40 FPS would be a huge improvement for a game like this.

This is great news. I picked the game up Black Friday 2015 and it is still in my backlog. I look forward to my first playthrough on the PS4 Pro once this is out.

Screw everything else, this is the biggest megaton coming out of E3. I deliberately haven't started Blood & Wine as I was hoping CDPR would do this at one point. Fucking finally!

The benefits these days of only playing a game when you really want to are pretty substantial. I have a Witcher 3 save going back to 2015 that I have been putting a couple hours into every few months.

I guess it proves Digital Foundry's point about how the Xbox One X is a good thing for the PS4 PRO! I remember they refused to release an update to the PS4 pro version when the PRO launched last november! Even though I playing the game on PC, it's good to know that the pro version will still be good! I also know that the PC version is heavily dependent on the GPU and doesn't care about the CPU at all.

Y'know, I do find it weird though that they couldn't possibly push to 60FPS on the Pro and X1X.

My PC isn't exactly much better than the PS4 Pro, and definitely weaker than the X1X, but it easily pushes 90FPS at maxed settings in TW3.

Even if you have a 5 years old CPU it is probably (99% sure) way better than Jaguar... Intel or AMD.

What is your CPU? It is almost assuredly better than either console.

Curious what specs you have and if you're running everything on max? Not questioning you just curious as I'm currently playing the game again and I come nowhere near 90fps on my pc which obliterates the pro and xbx.
