Okay I know this is pointless then.
Do you gonna let ban yourself when capcom gonna announce a localization for this game in the future? I want to bookmark it

MHW would be lucky to do 3m on consoles. My guess is it sells comparably to Tri.Yeah Capcom fucked up the schedule big time.
Edit: MHW isn't going to sell 6mio. Their biggest franchise in the west (Resident Evil) recently couldn't. Dragon's Dogma couldn't. Why would MH suddenly sell that much? Game doesn't even look amazing or story-driven enough to sell that much. Even if they bank on the success of Dark Souls, that didn't sell 6mio either or Nioh.
Costing way more to make tooMHW would be lucky to do 3m on consoles. My guess is it sells comparably to Tri.
Probably locked up by Nintendo. What I don't understand is why Capcom never brought Tri or 4 to PC to test if the Western PC market was interested.

People are downplaying the fact MH is has some obtuse mechanics that are more common to MMORPGs. Farming ingredients, farming monster parts, training cats and ore mining.
Either massive changes are coming to the drop rates or less necessary parts for crafting.
Dark Souls doesn't have this apart from some, minimal, weapon and armor drops. No use in comparing the two.
You need to chill for a bit. You don't know if they already made a decision on that. They choose not to talk about it for the moment.Capcom CHOOSE NOT TO LOCALIZE MHXX.

Aren't time-consuming MMOs dying recently? Pretty sure we discussed this 1-2 months ago. That is part of the reason I think MH will appeal to the PC audience, as well as having depth in its gameplay mechanics. A lot of PC people eat that shit up.

While Tri was indeed in development for PS3, two things happened so it ended up on Wii.
1. PS3 didn't sell that great (at the time Tri was closer to release) in Japan
2. Capcom tried to get Sony helping out localizing and advertising MH in the west, but Sony wasn't willing to. But Nintendo obviously was.
Take the later with a grain of salt, because this is not confirmed information.

Why do people compare its to dark souls anyway as if the souls game are some big success. Monster hunter sells more on 3ds then souls sells on 3 platforms. So are people saying selling less is the right direction. Let's stop bringing up souls as a positive example for monster hunters future.People are downplaying the fact MH is has some obtuse mechanics that are more common to MMORPGs. The meltdowns over the past few days are going to look real stupid when Capcom continue to support Switch with more MH titles. If Capcom aren't interested in localising MHXX right now, as painful as that is, doesn't mean they're doing it to spite you.
That's the problem. Too many damn maybes for a game already on the platform. Even more annoying is they're purposely being iffy about it to promote a monster hunter not even coming to the platform. As dedicated as the MH community has been in they west, they surely deserve better than this. You need to chill for a bit. You don't know if they already made a decision on that. They choose not to talk about it for the moment.
Maybe it means that they have no plans at all or that they have plans to release it in a few months or later, maybe they decided not to bring it over.

We are reacting to capcoms brilliant PR spin

I don't think it will look stupid. People are reacting to Capcom's fuckheaded messaging.
Considering Capcom's history of crapping on established fan base, I'd say they aren't unwarranted. The meltdowns over the past few days are going to look real stupid when Capcom continue to support Switch with more MH titles. It's not fuckheaded. They have no plans to localise MHXX right now. What more are they supposed to say? People keep saying that this isn't a MHWorld thread so stop talking about it, but the intensity of this vitriol has definitely been accelerated because of MH World's announcement. I guarantee if MH World hadn't been announced, but Capcom still said that MHXX wasn't being localised then reactions from Nintendo fans would have been far more muted.

People should be making as much noise about this situation as they can. You really think Nintendo would have released xenoblade in North America if we didn't make our voice heard. Monster hunter fans in the west have supported the series well with the last few iterations. If capcom wants to take steps back I applaud the fans who are letting them know they are making a mistake. It's not fuckheaded. They have no plans to localise MHXX right now. Marketing and branding are not just about financials. It's also about perception. People would still be extremely pissed about XX but maybe not as much. But it's not on the fanbase to control their passion for the brand. What kind of message is that? It's on Capcom to frame and message their moves in ways that don't piss people off. And if they can't do that then they need to accept the hate.
This policing of people's frustration is misguided. No matter how much you try to downplay it, people are not pissed for no reason

People do this, because Dark Souls is successful in the west and it's very likely they have to make up for the loss of japanese sales. World also looked a bit more singleplayer focused.
You think responding to fan backlash with "to clarify: we have no plans to localise it yet. But don't forget World will be getting localised lol" isn't fuckheaded? And didn't piss people off even more?
The gaming community has its own issues interpreting "currently no plans" meaning "maybe one day they just can't say anything yet" but if you think Capcom's PR here has been perfectly fine I don't know what to tell you.
Okay so then what do you reasonably expect them to say. They don't have current plans to localise MHXX at this time and they've communicated this. What else do you expect them to say?

I'll repeat the question I posed above. What else do you expect them to say?

Maybe responding honestly about their plans is a decent idea instead of using soft PR? Or maybe the 'journalists' who get given these quotes could I don't know, ask "why do you have no plans to localize XX?"
Capcom is looking stupid for being unable to deliver a clear message.
Incompetence
I'm not Capcom marketing. They don't pay me to come up with their corporate strategy so I'm not going to answer this question for you. As I said, if they can't frame their message in a way that doesn't piss off fans then they simply need to accept the hate. Or maybe make better decisions.
If you wanna hook me up with a marketing job at Capcom that's another story. Otherwise, your policing of frustration really aint gonna fly bruh.

Update: Capcom has reached out to GameSpot to clarify that it has no plans to localize Monster Hunter XX for Switch "at this time." The original story has been updated to reflect that. Originally, when asked, "Are there any plans to bring Monster Hunter XX, the Switch version, over here?" to which a representative for the company clearly replied, "No."
"We will have more to say about MHXX at a later time. We heard the fans feedback; however, at this time we are focusing on showcasing the newly revealed MHW."Okay so then what do you reasonably expect them to say. They were actually clear before GameSpot had to update the article.

Personally I expected MHXX to get announced for a worldwide release with that odd Friday date in Japan.
I don't even have anything against MHW and was waiting to see more of it before making a final judgement call, but I also expected to get MHXX first.
I don't think it's much of an overreaction to vote with my wallet and not buy MHW or any other PS4/XBO/PC Capcom releases if I don't get the game I actually want first.
You can't be serious. This is EXACTLY what they're saying though. They have no plans to localise MHXX right now, but MH World is their focus and fans in the west still have that to look forward to.
