Express: PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds will remain Xbox One exclusive, doesn't cite

The new title that's been taking the PC platform by storm was announced by Microsoft for console during the E3 2017 Xbox briefing.

We also found out that PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is NOT coming to PS4 but will instead remain an Xbox One exclusive.

The Battle Royale title has already sold more than three million copies since its Early Access release on March 23, 2017 and is currently the third most played game on Steam.

The peak concurrent users (simultaneous active players) can top 200,000 and hits the number one most-watched game on Twitch multiple times a week.

And Developers Bluehole have now confirmed that the popular PC title will launch exclusively on Xbox One

Maybe if Sony can get H1Z1 developers off their ass PS4 can have their own Battle Royale game too.

Did not expect this. Either way, it was a huge get for Xbox. Now it's an even more important one.

Edit: Yea, I'm not quite sure if this is officially confirmation of the exclusitivity or release window. Will await an official announcement from Player Unknown/Bluehole.

Probably gonna be a bigger exclusive than 9/10 of Microsofts 1st party exclusives.

That's a huge get. My friend who's been eyeing this game is gonna be pretty disappointed.

Reading the article, there's no quote/info that it won't be coming to PS4 at a later date (after launching in Game Preview on Xbox).

This "confirmation" is no different from the E3 conference language, and doesn't substantiate the headline.

Weird. I thought the guy himself had said it was a timed exclusive, when he went on Giant Bomb's night show at E3. Can someone confirm?

I imagine that it's exclusive during the game preview/early access phase. Hope for PS4 players that it won't remain exclusive.

I'm guessing this is more a case of nobody being able to understand Microsoft's code of 'launch/timed/console exclusive', and not an actual scoop.

Still, if Microsoft locks down PUBG - that's a big get. Feel like this game could go into the stratosphere if it connects with the console audience.

I'm really not seeing the confirmation of sole console exclusivity after reading the article. I've also never heard of this website, so...

It's gonna be exclusive through its early access phase and maybe at launch. I don't know how this game is gonna play on a game pad though. A lot of mechanics that can't be properly translated to a controller.

Lol yeah, it's the same wording like in E3, annoying as hell.

It really should be illegal for Microsoft and Sony to be so vague about exclusivity windows.

You are using the Daily Express as your source?. I wouldn't believe this. Its console launch exclusive holiday this year but will almost definitely come to ps4 next year.
