To give my thoughts on the game so far...

There's is pretty much always a Lynch/noLynch discussion that rarely goes anywhere in these games, so I haven't really bothered commenting on it previously. Kark did bring up 2 really good points.

i. We're mostly likely going to lynch town. D1 is statistically the worst odds for hitting scum
ii. Frankly, I don't trust this group to reread D1 to make sense of the voting patterns

However I don't really believe a no Lynch will happen so I'm not going to push for one.

I'm sure there's at least 1 scum hiding in the low activity players. Cewyn, LoneProdigy, isaacnukem, and Kalor with the lowest point counts.

The one that sticks out to me the most from this list is LoneProdigy, as Cewyn and Kalor rarely post much, and isaac is new and probably just nervous to post,

You are missing Wee on that list. I also think Acohrs and Nin were against but would need to recheck.

Also you can add the people who jumped on the vote like Kalor or Isaac.

Just to keep a better record.

It felt genuine, and perhaps it would have gone over more informatively with another person. But I wasn't afraid of seeing my name in red, I was more or less just totally befuddled by his course of action until he explained it.

I'm gonna have to say yes, tentatively. Only because it's weird as hell and focuses on drawing attention to you instead of away from you, so it feels like it's intended to be a reverse-subversion. Leading you to think that only someone playing this crazy wouldn't be Mafia, but they actually are.

I just made a quick reread of the day so far and there are people with really low activity and even less opinions.

Some reads on some of the players:

LP: really low activity. Almost nothing with substance. It checks with his scum MO where he has really low activity and keep coasting.

Neck: Jumped really quickly in a town claim. A bit of discussion about general mafia playstyle but not really much about this game. A newbie, so still doubting about him.

Launch: I only played once with Launch and it was a really long time ago but I remembered him being a prolific poster and engaged in discussion. We have none of it here. Low post, less insight.

Rac: Another low poster. Didn't engaged in any discussion or gave something to work with.

Kalor: Also low activity. What I find weird is how he jumped from against No Lynch to pro No Lynch.

Corn: Low activity also. The few posts that he has are only related to the No Lynch talk. Nothing more.

Cewyn: Is he even playing?

I think I feel better about Melon and Nin. Both seem like they usual townies play.

Blarg is playing weird. Really think he may be scum but I also find him really difficult to read. Don't want to vote here yet.


I'm thinking making a vote between Corn, Launch or LP as I find them the most suspicious.

See, I would see it the other way. On D1, I would assume that mafia would not attempt stupid gambits so as not to stick out too much. In my first full game as mafia, I played too aggressively and got lynched D1 because of it. So my opinion is that mafia will be those on D1 that you least suspect.

However zubz' s gambit wasn't a very towny move so doesn't make me lean town on them either. This is why it's NAI to me.

I think kitsunelaine is saying what I was thinking - if we wanted to draw lines through possible motivations it could easily be a "let me look like a target so I will get ignored because it's too obvious" but I'm really not sure. At this time I'd assume a town gambit, but Zubz said some weird stuff, like really weird, so all things considered I would still rank him at #2.

Once I get settled, I will have some more extended thoughts.

Yeah, it's a gambit that will be exceptionally beneficial for them if it sucseeds. High risk high reward.

All right. I'm up finally.

I've spoken about a few people. Not a lot has changed.

LP - has added very little of anything and I don't think even got through all the one sentence "#" posts.

Monkey - Feeling confident in Monkey as I previously expressed. Despite people going very quiet she is still pushing for the discussion to continue. You could argue that scum would benefit from also doing this but she has set off any red flags.

Dusk Soldier - Like I said I don't see Fran is a lynch candidate at all and this mini push seem weird. I can't remember from previous games how active Dusk usually is but he, like a lot of people seem to be background players.

Nin - is nin.

NeckToChicken - Giving a pass a newbie but would like to see more on D2.

weemadarthur and kitsunelaine - I think wee and kitsunelanie's interaction was interesting. A veteran showing the newbie the ropes. It could also be argued that it was "staged" to look as such but would be both are scum and while I could see the main thread convo being "staged" I honestly believe scum chat would've immediately corrected kitsunelaine on her use of edits. So I'm left to think that the exchange was genuine for the moment. Or Wee is scum.

Aco - so so quiet and very little rugby talk.

LaunchpadMcQ - Who?

Karkador - Does a Kark-like gambit and completely derails the game D1. Yup. That's Kark. Unfortunately it doesn't tell us alignment. Not someone I feel strongly about one way or another.

rac & isaacnukem -- Speaking of Kark has either of these two justified their vote on him? They've barely elaborated on anything all game.

franconp - Strongest town vibes.

Zubz - Had a gambit blow up in his face. But I can't figure out why a scum would do such a thing. Draws way too much attention.

Fat4all; Blargonaut; Kalor; CornBurrito; Cewyn - Why is everyone so quiet???

You were completely unable to talk about anything in the game outside of me while I had a vote on you, and only since I removed it have you mentioned Zubz doing weird things. But the mafia hide best by NOT doing weird things. And you will be befuddled by everyone. Especially in a game with this cast, if I may say so.
But that's vote pressure - the second reason I voted for you. It lets me figure out whether I think you're scum.
Still, I like the fact that you're already trying to Inception your thoughts, so I'll let you go until day two. Please keep sharing thoughts on the other players as well, don't get too caught up in one person.

Yes, Fat has been participating but I don't know if I would describe at quite the activity levels I've seen from him in other games. To me, he is quiet for him.

I completely agree about Blarg. Normally, he had some long-winded posts, crazy theories, something going on page after page. And really the only thing he has done is jumped on the No Lynch wagon and make vague reference to "knowing" Fat's role.

Not sure what is up there.

My thoughts are you are that you are engaging with other players. Questioning people and pretty tactful with observations y'know once you get past all the shitposting. Really though, I do think you're making an effort to keep the game going and I'm happy you called me out on my laziness. Your behavior thus far has been "typical Nin" and I believe I've only ever played with you when you were town. So, I feel general okay but then I have no real background for what Scum!Nin might appear to be.

You and monkey seem townie. Could be scum just calmly and quietly making sense on day one, but it's enough to get to the top of my town list for today. You've both brought up new points and kept the conversation moving.

I'm not liking any of the half dozen lowest posters, because they have had very little post content. Also that's a common place for scum to hide when nobody is threatening them.

Still analyzing post content of the higher volume posters.

I'm curious to know what kind of statement you consider "committal" at this point in time, from anyone. Even votes will start changing sooner or later, I'm sure.

If you need my direct indictment, I would vote on hey_monkey for sounding like a mafia player, if I wasn't trying to get a No Lynch passed.

So first of all? You seem way too knowledgeable for a new player based on your previous posts. I'm, like, 99% certain someone's giving you suggestions & hot tips about this game outside of this thread. This doesn't inherently mean "Scum," but it's definitely likely. Granted, could be a Lovers type deal (I mean, come on, my first GAFia game had me on a team with TWE; no way I'd ignore a teammate).

I'd feel bad voting for a new player, but it seems Cewyn's just dropped out, & Scum is Scum.

You are right, though. These machinations are high risk, high reward. But the reward will be worth it if it pans out.
