F4 would be a good Stark science division that sometimes works with Shield. I could see them more as support characters than starring characters.

No point in using the heroes. It's the villains that are of value to the MCU. Doom, Silver Surfer, and Galactus.

If Marvel had had X-Men and Fantastic Four and Spider-Man since the start, we probably wouldn't have gotten Guardians of the Galaxy. It's a pity the MCU will always be without some of its greatest villains but I've learned to live with it.

Besides, there's already a great Fantastic Four film and it's called The Incredibles.

Marvel getting any of the remaining IP's that are at other studios back doesn't necessitate solo films. The benefit of these things is the pieces rather than the whole. Bring in the villains. Bring in Reed. Fold them into the Universe as a whole.

Edit: Hell, if they got X-Men back, bring in Deadpool, Wolverine, and a few other key characters and ignore the mutant aspects of stuff and it fits just fine. All these IP's don't need solo movies.

The FF slander in these threads from people who don't know how awesome they are is terrible. I won't stand for it!

Sad thing is X-Men is the best ip marvel has imo and it's going nowhere at fox. The last movie was horrible. Days of the future past was ok but too much mystique. And while X2 was really great too much wolverine.

Deadpool: 363mil domestic, 84% Rotten Tomatoes score (6.9/10 average)
Logan: 226mil domestic, 93% Rotten Tomatoes score (7.9/10 average)

The PG-13 psychedelic teen horror that will be New Mutants (adapting the Demon Bear storyling) is gonna go somewhere, I'm sure.

Days of Future Past and Logan are superb. Fox has been doing great work with the X-Men, despite a few stumbles.

Aside from Apocalypse they have been killing it with their X-Men characters. Logan, First Class and DoFP were great films, I agree on the too much Jennifer Lawrence/Mystique. Then you also have Deadpool and how he fits in utilizing Colossus etc.

If anything Deadpool and Logan show me that Marvel by forcinf PG-13 all the time, chasing the multi-billion Infinity War setup, are not doing as great as job as they could.

Eh, if Marvel ever got the rights back to the Fantastic Four, I doubt they'd give them their own film, they'd probably show up in another film, and something like Galactus would be featured in an Avengers film.

Lots of ignorance too. The Fantastic Four doesn't fit in with today's superheroes? What? Any concept can fit into with today's "generation" as long as it's done well.

Any Infinity War/Avengers 4 post-credits scene that doesn't feature Doctor Doom will forever be considered a colossal waste in my eyes, no matter how patently unfeasible.

Bah, any post credit scene which doesn't have Reed looking through the multiverse via the bridge and seeing how fucked up the MCU is and proclaiming "I can fix it" while Susan writes him a "I need seaman" note...

Just not worth the effort.

Would they even be able to make a film out of them? I mean, the last movie bombing did some serious damage to the brand (and yet, Fox STILL doesn't seem to want to give the rights back) see, Marvel getting the rights back has created a Catch-22, usually it's because those movie studios don't want to make films out of the property anymore, that's why despite the rights for Blade, Ghost Rider and Daredevil reverting, they haven't been able to make films out of them and why Ghost Rider, Daredevil and Punisher have been relegated to Netflix and TV shows rather than films.

So... even if Marvel gets the rights back, would they be able to make a Fantastic Four movie? Probably not for a good long while.

Yes, they could. But they'd likely introduce the characters in other films first (Human Torch in Spidey, Reed with Black Panther, something like that) to let people know "hey, they're with us now. We got this."

Yes. Marvel has earned people's trust. Nobody knew Antman, Dr Strange or Guardians of Galaxy before the MCU adaptations.

I like the running joke of Fox keep making and failing at F4.

In fact Fox should hire Roger Corman to make another F4 to keep its right.

Or

First post credits scene : Thanos showing that he is still a live ... when suddenly a squirrel sound appears.

Last post credits scene : a mountain of squirrel goes out to reveal a dead thanos on the ground with a voice offscreen saying "that's enough tippy toe"

I can't believe people actually knowing of the comics doubting a great F4 movie under Marvel when all of these examples exist and they're great. Also, Ghost Rider and T'Challa.

All these dudes that are tied up in the Fantastic 4 property would be perfect for the overarcing phase 4 story. Too bad Fox probably won't play ball like Sony did, seeing as they're capable of doing great things with the X-Men, I'm sure they think they can probably do the same with F4 if they keep trying.

Thought Emoji Movie was good. Take that as you will.
The F4 is a lame group.. it bombs because the characters for the most park suck.

It's a hard one to modernize around the stupidness of the characters.

Do yourself a favor and read all of Hickman's F4 runs. It's some of the best Marvel comics there are.

If Marvel got the rights back to Spider-Man would they be able to make a movie after the utter shitstorm that was The Amazing Spider-Man 2?

Of course they could make a bitching F4 movie, don't be silly.

I don't think AMS2 was that much of a shit storm on the level of F4 and B&R, maybe in echo chamber geek/enthusiast forums, much like the DCEU and Wonder Woman was doomsayed for around here after Squad (and Squad after BvS...).

Spider-man's domestic has been down every movie since the first one, it'll be interesting to see how homecoming does.

The toughest issue the F4 face is that they've never had a great film. They've struck out three times. Meanwhile Spider-man and Batman has had atleast 2 great films and a bunch of franchising behind them.

A deal will end up happening at some point, and like usual, Marvel will hit it out of the park and deliver a great F4 movie.

Also, DOOM.

The most famous superhero vs 4 C list characters.

To be fair those don't have the poison that FF has though it would be easy to remedy have them pop up in Guardians or Captain America: Secret Empire like BP and Spidey and would probably fine

Yeah, there's a lot of baggage, just like with Hulk, but all it took was for him to show up in Avengers and everyone liked him again. As you said, Feige could redeem the FF in his sleep, he would have plenty of ways to do it.

All like filler episodes to the main story arc of the Avengers.

They still made very successful movies out of all of those properties, twice now with GotG with no mention of the Avengers.

What's your point? A good movie can be made with any superhero property, you just need someone who cares about the material, good casting, good writing, and good direction. The most recent effort by Fox had only one of those things (casting), so it's no surprise no one went to see it.

Yeah of course Marvel Studios could make a good, if not a great FF movie in the MCU. I mean, they just keep making hit after hit, so to bet against them at this point would probably be a bad bet.

They would nail the FF, Doom and Galactus characters way better than Fox ever could. A decent Doc Doom would be a good addition to the MCU villain roster too.
