Wilson had a pretty debilitating stroke, leading his wife to assume the presidency during his convalescence. Because of him we have the line of succession.

I suppose that is technically taking off, but that is at least for a legitimate shared medical reason.

any president before ever say "I need a break, I just won't do anything for the next week"?

Got Yakuza 0 in that PSN sale and now he's hooked.

Who am I kidding Trump wouldn't have taste anywhere near that good.

Outside of leaving so many posts vacant (ones that are not political in nature and need people working them) this is a good thing.

Taking all of August off.....bruh

Is it wrong for me to say their should be an age cap for becoming president? Like, this motherfucker is 71 years old. That's hella old.

You wouldn't be entirely wrong. Reagan, slightly younger than Trump at his inauguration, began exhibiting signs of Alzheimer's in his second term. Though I wouldn't call 71 "hella old," especially today, many people start to decline physically and cognitively at that age. For every Biden you have a Trump or a Reagan. In fact, 71 seems about the right age to be ending one's second term, not embarking upon a first.

Hope he isnt sleeping, sounds like he's ripping his hair out screaming at everyone including his children. and the white is is attempting to contain him until he settles down, cause.

just imagine trump doing a presser right now going insane and screaming and ranting like an old man yelling at the clouds

When Republicans "find God", they're admitting guilt.

Trump is getting ready to beg for forgiveness in the most evangelical way possible.

Let's not kid ourselves, he has been doing sod all for more than a month already. Lazy, worthless president.

You know what? Let him be a do-nothing, lame duck president. It might be the best option for the rest of us.

I'd rather this comedy-of-errors made sentient Congress do nothing. Trump is just fucking stupid and ineffective, whether he hides or is out front of cameras every day doesn't really matter. The rest of the world leaders are already just working around him, like how people in an office work around the useless middle manager who's some higher-ups son / niece / whatever. But this Congress can do some serious harm to the nation.

Not showing up is literally the best thing he has done.

Says a lot.

Hope this continues for an extended period of time

Perhaps he can run and take haven in Russia. Right next to Snowden.

As a matter of fact- Putin, let's practice the art of he deal. You can have Trump, and we'll take Edward

Dude could have been 25 and he still likely wouldn't have had the stamina.

At this point, I would be willing to bet that it's all mental.

honestly, I think the White house staffers are panicking and trying to keep him off of cameras right now. so they cleared his schedule, and trying to keep the rabid dog in the room until he calms down a little.

NYT, would you kindly....

drop another update and WSJ/WAPO do the schwoop de whoop

Without Trump out to sell stuff to his base and the public at large, it makes it even harder to manage and sell bills, so it effects that as well. The President is the deal factors head of his party no matter what

Honestly the smartest thing for the GOP to do would be to just keep him out of the public eye and lock down his Twitter.

That's because it is. It's pandering.

CNN just reported it seems that it was during an interview with the 700 Club a christian cable tv channel so yeah major pandering

in the interview with the 700 Club he questions something like, Why would Russia back me over Hillary? I am pro Military while Hillary would cut military spending so Russia would like her more than me. LOL
